According to research, Paiwan living between Shizi and Daren townships in Pingtung County had formed a community with social structures that were akin to those of a nation. The Qing Dynasty government called it Daguiwenshe.Later, researchers called it the Daguiwen Kingdom. In recent years, Shizi Township invited cultural workers and historians to study the Daguiwen Kingdom.
