1225 steam locomotive traveling from Owosso to Chesaning, Michigan on its annual Polar Express trip. A little to much whistle and not enough chug chug, but a nice winter scene.
The Steam Railroading Institute owns 4-ex CN passengers still in VIA paint mod. The Guest Whistle mounted near the behind smokestack is from CNR 5588 "Spirit Of Windsor"
Thanks dreambuilders. I think the place to be for a good winter scene is on a snowy day in December when 1225 is coming out of Henderson going to Oakley. Find one of the back roads close to Henderson. JS
I'd say get her out of riverside park and somewhere indoors to start. Who's got a billion dollars to start the Windsor & Fort Erie Railroad after rebuilding the CASO sub.
Yes, it's hard to get much reaction from the engine poking along. I have heard her bark a little picking up speed coming out of Henderson on a little grade towards Oakley. JS
Nice video. I need to chase her next time its cold out like that. I have a lot of video of her but dont think I have any with that much smoke/steam. I did post a video of 3985 in winter from 1983.
1225 got sick after the night time photo shoot in Thursday. 3 Flues cracked inside her. Was originally going one excursion, instead 765 did an extra excursion.
The horn drowns out the engine noise. I would rather hear the engine working then the horn. However, you can't beat the sounds of a steam locomotive. JS
