A quick look at the new Hornby 9F Locomotive R3986 Late BR Black No 92167, and fitting a Soundtraxx Econami 21Pin Steam Sound decoder, along with a quick run on the layout. @SoundtraxxDCC
You need to get one of those special Hornby plug extractor tool tweezer things Pt. No. X6468. If you break a wire off, God knows how you reattach them. However, those cranked tweezers are indeed excellent for extracting those little pan head screws, which I'm sure I've mentioned in one of my videos (still to be released)
@@worthingtonmodelrailway8628 you grab the plug by the ends, not by long sides. Still a bit tricky, and you need to take great care, but easier than tweezers or pliers
Something has changed. have you purchased new lighting and camera. Lighting is much better and focus much faster ? After seeing Sams Trains review I was most impressed, but they always give him a duff one. Neville Grove on the other hand had a good one. Very impressive. Then I saw a real one in the flesh at AGR Model Store in Leighton Buzzard and had to have one. Many people are I guess ordering the Evening Star as my mate has, but for once I thought I'd go for an industrial black one, but with the mechanical stoker as you have here just to be a tad different, so my local Junction 20 Models got my order. The packaging has indeed improved inline with Heljan and Dapol, which is excellent, except bigger boxes take up more storage space (I have issues with that). Hornby have taken a lead with good quality painted crew being included. Accurascale do nice 3D printed ones but at extra cost.
