Well, I have cut a bit, my brother is way better with a saw, he has been cutting as a logger part time for 40 years and does firewood too. I'm going to do some videos at his wood yard soon.
Nice! I love to watch those Huskies eating! Lots of rain here in S Illinois the last couple days. I have to feed my firewood addiction watching channels like yours until we can get out there ourselves! Thanks for sharing Chris. GNI
Yes, it is a rush, it's very exciting because of the accomplishment and the work you get to do and it's a big deal to take a life that is usually much older than yours!
Chris you can get yourself a garden harrow The one that's got the 90° prongs it's only about about four or five inches wide and you can take that with the PV and roll those logs and clean all that dirt and rocks out That's what I do up here in New York and I'll tell you what it sure does save on the chain
That's a great idea! Maybe even roll the logs over on top of the harrow before dragging, the spikes would hold the harrow to the log while pulling it. With it on top of the harrow, no dirt to begin with!
@@InTheWoodyard I completely agree with you Frozen ground is better than soft ground but it just gives you an alternative when you is your grounds not frozen
Man your gonna get spoiled having that heavy equipment pulling your logs around! Lol! Don’t know how you do it Chris. Your a worker for sure. Enjoying all your videos!👍🏻
You guys just want drama! HA! I just want my stuff not to break! I'm always tempted to ---fillerup! But then my little brain kicks in and says you will regret it!
I looks so easy cutting using the end of the bar. The saw rocks but his style of cutting is harder than it looks. Lots of practice. If I did that with my small saw I would need the log to be 3 ft high lol. Great video and hope your feeling better. Watching the snow fly has to help.
Any reason that you haven't added some hungry boards to the tailgate? Adding them could get you an extra few wheelbarrow loads full while still keeping things to water level.
One time, a couple years ago my brother and I where both running ou 576s next to each other buckin' logs and it was a very special sound kinda like satan screaming in both ears at 129 decibles. IT WAS LOUD!
I always thought that muscle cramps was your body telling your mind what your mind should already know. Cramps don't mean it's time to stop, they mean it's past time to stop.Knowing this, I still do it once or twice a Summer. That Husky saw is rocking.
Phil , I'm not as smart as you, I get cramps 5-6 times a year in the summer, I to push myself too far too often! That day it was really bad, I could hardly walk at the end there--- I was in major pain!
Nice work on the take down and the haul...lots of food for the Ultra...lol. How was that Cottonwood smelling? The last one I bucked up was green & had quite the aroma...hahaha
I have a mark on my bar at 16"that I use a lot and after cutting thousands of cords I can eye it up pretty good to! Stihl makes great saws now too, I got started on huskies because my dad had them and then both of my brothers bought them. My brother Ken has worked in the woods cutting for his job and as a part time side job logging and selling firewood too and he switched to Husqvarna in the late 80s early 90s when Stihl was having problems.
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 90 degrees is just too hot for cutting wood. How are you feeling?? I haven't asked in a couple days. LOL!! Hope you are doing better. Talk to you later!! 😀😀 Logger Al
Nice load of wood there! Curious as to when this was filmed...? You mention how hot it is in a lot of them! Surely it can’t be 90° in Wisconsin at the end of October, can it??
@@InTheWoodyard Ahh now it all makes sense! I’d look at it as being you’re two months ahead on filming! Sure wish I had that much videos (and wood) stockpiled! If you get a chance check out my channel!
