So sorry to read about Nala and your loss, they seem well loved part of the family :(( The greenhouse exchange idea is so good .... what a great way to help sustain the hobby:)
People do read the notes... Thank you! It was a total surprise and thankfully was very quick. Running in the yard at 7:30 and off to a better place by 10:00
Love the helicopter tail! And it looks like you have a blastomussa - I have one that colour and on video it sometimes looks magenta, love it. And your tangs look awesome all swimming around together. 👍🏻 Nice update.
Nice update Pete. Plating monti is becoming my nemesis. I think the bristle worm was just feeding off stuff caught in the codiums "hair". Nice work on the mangrove
Yeah, one little mangrove... My params must be off, or something for the monti's, but the frag tank pieces still have the green color. It's all trial and error, right? Thats why they call it a hobby.
Nice update Pete...I would place the acans on the sand they can take low light and color up really good...The tank as always is coming along well...Keep it up your husbandry is top notch...
Ash thanks for checking in. Are you saying I should move the ones in the tank down? I have so little on the rock still. Or are you suggesting for the ones in the frag tank to mount them on the sand when they come up?
Sadly, squirrel day didn't happen as I figured. I did hang a hammock that has been kicking around for years (like 20+), which is a very squirrel like task, but nothing really in the fish room. I will all be there tomorrow, though...
Nice update I like your setup. I need to put my QT setup backup as I want to move my fish soon to my new tank. So I think I want to buy a new fish and QT them and move it to my new tank before I move the tanks hate to risk my long time fish. Just never like moving fish from tank to tanks
Jerry, thanks for checking in! I am always nervous through QT. I've killed a few (go back to my 5 anthias last fall, for example) so there is good reason to be concerned. It's just a different environment, but I wouldn't ever go without QT at this point. Long ago we used to just pop em in from the LFS, and our tank kill rate was crazy. With the basement, I have room to do it right.
No expert lol. Just had to do it myself. Had to use GFO for the 1st year at least on most tanks. And do trace like aquaforest, red sea, zeovit nano pack four. But the ICP will tell all:) it could lighting, but I grow acropora at 150 par. 75 on the bottom grows everything else, so light seems to be less important than perfect water. Even with the trace supplement my vanadium and iodine was low last one
