Sharing the details of my saltwater fish tank build and growth for family, friends and any that may be interested. All feedback is welcomed, as sometimes having a second set of eyes on a problem is the best way to find a simpler solution.
Thanks so much for an easy to understand video! I use mine for brewing despite being envious of that beautiful tank LOL ! so, my issue was knowing what that AH and AH was and that was why i kept getting that alarm and it would shut the system down. THANKS AGAIN!
Hi laminar, im making my first sump. It's a 40 breeder for a 180g freshwater large cichlids and maybe eventually a 300g tank. Maybe 3-4ft vertical head and 1 or 2 elbows. For now will be using the eshopps PF-1200 hob overflow, upper limit of 1250gph. Do you think the dcp-15000 would be sufficient or is the dcp-18000 gonna save me on overall wattage for the same flow?
Hi, can this unit be used with a trigger switch. In other words, could I connect a switch to this unit so that it only begins to run a program when the switch is activated/triggered? Many thanks
Does this TC420 controller only work with RGB LED strips and aquarium lights? I have a single 12V 5W dimmable GU5.3 white LED bulb attached to CH1 for a sunrise/sunset scenario and when the scheduled time begins, the light will only turn on to 100%. It will not dim even though the bulb is dimmable. Thanks for any information you might can provide.
I want to send you a video of this guy in South Africa. He uses the same pump 4 of them . He has 18,000 gallons how is this possible to filter that much water.
The names track their ratings in liters/ hour with no head pressure. So you should get 4k gph +/- with no load, running all out. Obviously, you will have a load in your system that will bring that number way down. I am in the basement, pushing the water up 10 feet to the first floor and believe I get 500 gph or more running at about 70% on the pump. I am a big fan of these DC pumps because you can dial them back and know you have some room to bump it up as the pump gets dirty and keep the same flow rate.
I am interested in making a false lighted window in a kitchen. Would it be possible with this product to program an entire year's worth of programming based on almanac data so the timed lighting would match the seasonal daylight?
You could make a lot of schedules to match the season ( not sure of the limits on numbers of schedules, but I am sure there is one somewhere), but I believe you would need to change which schedule you are running manually. There is likely a more fully featured scheduler out there now, this one is a few years old
I have installed the controller with the setting it does turn on at 4pm (it was around 2pm during installation), turned on the voltage and it lit the light up despite the mode has a rule of 0% on all channels from 00:00 to 16:00. Technically it should be off until 4 pm. Does the RUN option on the menu turns the entire controller on or off or just the programme?
The display is 125g, with a 2" return, that splits to a pairs of inlets in the tank. Drain line is 1 1/2, with a gate valve that limits it down to get siphon flow without slurping air
Hi can you please tell me how to clear the timer times back to factory settings I’ve tried holding the reset button but nothing happens as I want to change my times and if I make a new mode it just adds to the times that’s already exist thanks.
thank for share, I am setting a sump at Basement of my house. My Display tank( 200 * 750 *600 cm) in Ground Floor, The distance from sump to main tank about 7-8 meter. What Kind of return pump I should use? Thank so much ( I am thinking about Jebao DCP 20000 )
I would get the biggest pump you can in the family. If you run it at less power it will last longer as well. There is definitely a step up in performance from the 24v to the 36v, so make sure you go with a 36v pump.
Hi I have a TC420 that suddenly went down. Now I don't have any text in the LCD panel and trying to reset it did not help. I tried to make contact with the chineese seller on Amazon but no response. My guess is that the unit has lost its basic programming. I cannot find the CD and now asking you if you possibly can check your CD if there are som code i can use to do a restauration of the unit. Thanks in advance! /Ken
I have a question about UV Sterilizers. If I have a 57 watt sterilizer plugged into my apex shouldn't the wattage used show up as 57 watts. I have a Pentair UV rated at 40 watts and on my apex it draws 45 watts. My Aqua UV 57 watt unit draws 33 watts. How is that possible?
Not totally sure on this, but I am pretty sure the power consumed is related to the resistance (rating) of the bulb. As the bulb ages that value could change. If you replaced the bulb, I believe you will see a change in the power consumed.
@@laminar_flow BRS mistakenly sent me six bulbs when I ordered a replacement for the low reading old bulb. I tested each and the readings were 33 to 48 watts. How is that possible for bulbs supposedly putting out 57 watts. My Pentair UV is 40 watts and consistently runs at 45 watts. I returned all the bulbs except the one that ran 48 watts. How do you sell a 57 watt sterilizer that only runs 33 watts for $600
I live on the first floor and my set up is by the window, I work and game on my PC, I've been looking around for the best compact window fans, that would keep the outside from looking in, 3x 120mm at 1300rpm Fan Speed with control speed, this is perfect for me to put on the window to pull in cold air at the same time giving better privacy.
Thank you for the explanation on the long final press to set. My directions were crap, and mine kept reverting to C. I thought it would set at time-out. Wrong. I'm sucessfully using this to regulate a 250W heat lamp in a chick brooder (with a dimmer to promote bulb life). Probe is under vinyl flooring, then pine shavings. Temp gradient is about 6 deg. from probe to surface. Chicks like 95F, Inkbird is set at 88. Close enough. All good.
Hej. Thanks for the video. I have a question to your yellow parazoanthis in the background (i guess thats it). How do you manage to make them extend so much? Mine are wide open, but have almost no these beautifull yellow bodies, as yours. Any tips?
So basically on the channels on this controller you have your blue strip/board on say channel 1 and your white led chip/board on channel 2 , so you can dim them independently at certain times? Or do you gave the leds boards daisy chained together then connected to the controller?
