Hey, Granny Pat. I took care of my mom 17 yrs. As she got older her doctor told me to let her eat whatever she wanted. If she wanted ice-cream for breakfast she could have it. She lived to be 93.
When you describe supper, one can almost taste each individual food. Most importantly as you describe the meals your mother served, you create a historical perspective. It's as if we were seeing your early dinner table in three dimensions . Thank you Granny Pat for describing each taste, painting a picture, historical values and perspectives.
I love this, it reminds me of talking with my grandma, mom and aunt. They always tell me what they eat, want to eat, plan to eat, and if it’s a restaurant dinner, it’s good for a week long of chit chat.
I had cataracts taken off last September. No problems at all, but omg after, colors like were so much more vibrant. I was amazed and clothes I thought were gray were blue. It was awesome
Granny Pat, I love your videos. I started watching you 5 days ago when I fell ill, just a nasty flu. You have kept me so much company. I absolutely love your channel. My grandmother was my best friend, my mom, my storyteller, and my everything. She's been gone since 2009. I truly miss sitting and her feet and in her company. I love your stories and your chit-chat. Please keep them coming. There's nothing like the knowledge and wisdom of our elders and eldresses. You are the light of many people days and nights, so please don't stop what you're doing. Thank you! I enjoy all types of your videos. You also look very pretty tonight.
My exact sentiments. I couldn't have said it any better! Granny Pat is a mother grandmother to alot of us that don't have our with us anymore ! I could listen all day to Granny Pat! WE LOVE YOU GRANNY PAT!❤
You are such a sweet lady! We love you!! I hope your kids and grandkids spend time with you, they have so much to learn from their mom/granny. Bless your heart and plenty of health! ❤
Oh Grandma Pat, love your talks, makes me nostalgic.. I'm 79 and remember so many wonderful things. We never talked about nutrition either, just wasn't a thing then. On the other hand when we were growing up there weren't so many or any processed, loved food.
Granny Pat, in the coleslaw, I also add a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar in addition to what you use. Also on the coleslaw, made at least a day in advance so the flavors can meld together ❤ thank you for this talk! Like I told you before, my grandma (my #1 that raised me), she’s been gone 10 years now. I find her beautiful spirit in you ❤ so I love to listen to you. Whatever you want to talk about is fine by me! Bless you and Jan. I hope all good things come your way honey. ❤
Oh Granny Pat, I surely will keep her lifted to the Lord in prayer that in His mercy and grace would provide the help she needs. I always love your glasses, and your ear rings are gorgeous! I love spending time with you. You are the kind of friend that I would love to have next door!
This was a fun chit chat GP. Just like calling up my Mom and visiting with her for the evening. Love it....and thank you GP. You look marvelous and we are all happy to hear you and Jan are getting better. So sorry to hear about your friend. God speed to her and you. ❤️🐝
When I was little (late 80s/ early 90s) we (my brother, cousins and I) were encouraged to eat our vegetables by our parents and aunt and grandma (depending on where we were) saying, "Eat up, it's good for you. It'll put hair on your chest!" Being a little girl, I never understood why they'd think I'd want to have hair on my chest. (They said that to all of us, girls and boys.) But I was obedient and I liked most foods, so I'd eat up anyway. 😄
I was born in 1959, growing up we didn’t eat a-lot of meat. I was raised on pinto beans and fried potatoes. I didn’t know any difference because my friends were raised the same. I can remember being sick only one time. Love your videos🦋💐😊
I'm enjoying drinking my morning coffee and "chatting" with Granny Pat (I talk to the TV a lot when I watch you!). I think food was "real" back-in-the-day and actually had nutritional value. Not the processed junk that you find on the shelves these days. The soil was much healthier then too, where plants actually had minerals and weren't sprayed as much with herbicides and insecticides as now. Makes me so sad for the younger generations... (Sorry that took a negative turn). Glad you and Jan are on the mend! You are looking so pretty today - love the earrings! Can't wait to see the new glasses! Blessings to you and your family! Praying for Marlene🙏🙏🙏
I love your chat! You have a good heart! I wish our young people were required to listen to how it was in a world that appreciated the smallest of things, food for example. They live in a world where you can get nearly anything they want. They don't always appreciate that fact. I love hearing stories of your family. Also I love that you set yourself a beautiful table so that you treat yourself and use the beautiful settings for YOU to enjoy. I pray for your friend Marlene. How special it is for her to have you as a friend. I'm so happy that you get along so well. Never stop! You are a special, wonderful woman!
Listening to you this evening brought back so many memories of me and my siblings growing up. The way my mother cooked I realize then and still now just how blessed we were. Thank you for your stories, they sure do bring a smile to my face Granny Pat❤
Funny you should mention half runner green beans , this year I finally found some to plant . It takes me back to my childhood at my grandmother’s garden and picking them, snapping them and having them with a big slice of tomato. Nothing is better than that dinner. I just can’t wait to enjoy those this year. It has been several years. Thank you so much for that .
You are such a blessing to us Granny Pat! Praying for Marlene. Happy that you & Jan are doing better. Maybe sometime you can introduce her to your Utube followers, if she is willing. You look so pretty. Grammy from Texas
I really enjoyed your chat today. I will definitely be lifting your friend Marlene up in prayer. I know what it's like to have a stroke; I had 2 TIA'S in 2012. So I will be praying for her. I got teary eyed when you were talking about her. I have such empathy for folks. Wish I could help everyone. May God Bless her and keep her, and God Bless you and your family. Glad you and Jan are doing better!🥰❤️🙏🙏💜🥰
You are a good friend to care for Marlene and ask for prayers, which we will send in earnest. The earrings are gorgeous! So is the blouse with the pink cherry blossoms. I did enjoy this chit chat very much! I like hearing you tell the recipe just as much as you actually making it in the kitchen. Nice change of pace today with just conversation. I tell you I laughed out loud when you shared your father’s quip about cholesterol!
I love listening to your chats! I was the youngest of 6 kids. My sister would cut up one chicken for all 8 of us. Well, you can guess that I got the back each week! My mom was born during the depression and my grandmother sewed all their clothes and loved to cook from the garden. She would always ask me when I walked in if I was hungry. Food was love in her eyes. Keep them coming!
Aww, Granny Pat, you are a joy to listen to!! You make anything you talk about interesting. Is cornbread your favorite thing to make or is there something else you like making? ❤
Poor Marlene. I know she was dealing with so much already between the move and her poor brother being bitten by the snake! Hate to hear she is now unwell. The main thing I like in my cornbread is Crisco! Love to get it piping hot in that skillet and listen to the batter sizzle when I pour it in. Num num. Thank you for taking some time to chat with us! ❤
I will keep your friend, Marlene in my prayers. Like someone else previously said, listening to you is just like chatting with my Mama again. I'm so glad you and Jan are feeling better. Love you!❤
I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. Prayers going up that she will have a speedy recovery and she can enjoy her new house. I just love watching your videos. It doesn’t matter what you talk about or show us, I’m always thrilled when I get a notification letting me know you have a new video. You are truly a treasure. Much love.
You look terrific; love the blouse & those earrings are so beautiful. I enjoy your chats so much; you are the grandmother I never had. They died before I was ever born.
Hello Granny Pat! You remind me of my own Grandma named Pat who died two years ago. She loves cooking and telling stories and chatting away! I was missing her and somehow your channel popped up on my You Tube feed! So glad I found you! God Bless you!! You are just fabulous! Peace and love from Massachusetts! ❤
I’ll pray for her Granny Pat. I couldn’t help but tear up when you described what your friend is going through. Women, and yes men too, who LOVE home know that joy and excitement you described. Rather than dreading it all arranging home, even RE-arranging home is a mostly joyful process. Aren’t we fortunate to have a home to begin with? Funny thing about the condition Jan has had that you described….I have had something VERY similar which began a few months ago. I went to my primary care doc, then to a dermatologist. She gave me a balm in a small tube which did help my lips. The interior of my mouth only calmed down when I switched toothpastes. Yes, I was prescribed the meds you mentioned and they DID NOT work! No one knew what it was! Amazing! Keep well Granny Pat, you, Jan and all your family! Loved being with you today 😊
Love your chit-chat! Thanks so much! Feeling better! Love roast, carrots & potatoes! Happy to hear you & Jan are feeling better! Lol....I think we have some of the same cooking experiences! 🔥You look beautiful & love your earrings! Love you sweet friend! You always cheer me up! BTW...I like to add a little tsp of sugar too! I'm a sugar person too! Maybe that's why we're so sweet!😂❤😂 Appreciate the prayers!❤
You are so right about the Three Rivers Cornmeal, its like finding gold in the gold rush! My family doesn't like cornbread, but I will bake a whole pan and eat it with a glass of milk and a pinch of salt...there is nothing like it! Sending you love from "The Magic City" that sits inside the crater😉 P.S. I am sharing your channel with everyone here❤
Thank you Granny Pat❤ theres something very comforting about you the shape of your face and your cheeks remind me of my momma❤ she's been gone 4 years this Thanksgiving she was a beautiful lady kind and positive just like you ❤
I just started to follow you this week, and I love your videos, I lost my mom years ago and She used to tell me stories too, I love hearing your stories! Keep them Coming!
Your viewers do not think you are a bad cook! We all know that it takes practice to be a CHEF! There is always something new to learn regarding the art-of-cooking! I just started to watch some of your cooking videos and I learned some great tips and recipes!
Bless your heart, your video's to me are very warming, caring, and I love them. Keep talking to me! Stay well in stay bless. I love you for free, sugar.
You look so pretty this evening! Very nicely put together! Your supper sounded delicious, and I like cooked carrots with a little sugar too. I’m sorry to hear of Marlene’s stroke while moving into her new home. I will pray for her. ❤️🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing Granny Pat! You are such an inspiration! It’s hard to prepare decent meals for one person, let alone making sure they are nutritious. So glad to hear Jan is doing better. Also I’ll be praying for Marlene. God will give her the strength and before you know it she will be enjoying and making new memories in her new home. Love your pretty blouse and earrings!
I talk to myself, and my dog, all day long!! And, I love how I answer back and the dog cocks her head. I live in my own little world, and that's okay, they know me here!😅
Loving your chit chats Granny Pat!! Sorry to hear about your friend, I’ll be praying for her. Also, hope for a speedy recovery ❤🙏 Much love from Lexington, KY ❤️
Just found your channel. I sat on couch and put my feet up and relaxed and listened to you talk. You have a wonderful voice. I enjoyed this very much.❤
Hi miss pat. I came across your channel yesterday I Love your stories. I watcheca listen Ed to the one about,ww2 and your brother who was killed.i am sorry for your loss. I am of a military family as well.i am ftom Annapolis Maryland home of the NAVAL ACADEMY. YOU PUT me to mind of my great grandmother she was a great lady.
So funny GO granny You are so much like me The slaw is never good when you go out .Dont ever expect it will be good .I was raised on food that was cooked right .my mother nearly always added sugar .i remember that she made the best Rutabeggars cooked with little red peppers ,sugar and bacon grease .Even my kids loved her Rudabeggars .I enjoy your little stories so much because They make me remember those days
My dear Pat, I’m a very good friend of Marlene’s ( Nan ) she sent me over to visit your channel and I just love your chats. I’m so worried about my dear friend, I have been telling her I wish I was closer so I could help. The poor thing losing her Mom and now all this stress with the move. I’m so happy you asked for prayers, being so far away , I guess that is the best we can do. She is a sweet lady, thank you so much for lifting her up. Love and hugs to my new friend. 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Thank you for contacting me about Marlene. Although we are new friends, I feel like We have been friends all along. She has been so sweet to promote my utube channel. I feel so helpless. Too much distance between us. Keep in touch with me. I want to know if any progress can be made.
It's strange how your life and mine are so similar. You are 87, I am 57. You have a friend Marlene, I have a best friend Marlene And she just called me today, we don't talk but 3 or 4 times a year. I made roast beef with carrots and little red potatoes. I am like your daughter, I buy and sell vintage things. I found you when I clicked on your Fostoria video. I just love you so much and I will be praying for your Marlene. God Bless ♥
In general I find your channel so helpful. As l continue to age and after the loss of my wife, despite my best efforts, I don't find my life left meaningful. What you offer to me is that you describe the value and importance of the simplest experience, food, person or thing. These are the very components of life and when you point them out, l see how meaningful aspects of life can be. And, of course, l pause to be entertained. Thank you so much
Beautiful video. Thank you. Yes prayers going out for your friend Marlene. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Take care and God Bless. I too just had ard friend of 50yrs old and just had a massive stroke. Last week she just got out of rehab. She is divorced and has a 23yr old son. And works a 13 acker Farm by herself and has lots of goats and chickens. So hoping she slows down. She does cooking on FB. So prayers do work, so I hope all the prayers will get Marlene better. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Bonnie H. In Battle Creek, Michigan. Huggs Pat 🤗🤗🌹🌹
Hi Pat, Your videos are such a treat and relaxing to watch and I love to listen to all of your stories. You could do voice overs for TV and movies, Remember Beatrix Potter reading Peter Rabbit? Your voice sounds like a great narrator. They should hire you. I am getting like you in that I don't want to cook any more. I was a great cook for many years because I had to be , ( and I though I enjoyed it) I just figured out I don't like to cook! Lol I'm done! ttyl
Good afternoon Granny Pat, I usually watch your video on my television but I comments on my phone, I always enjoy all your videos it's seen they get better and better, excuse me if I don't comment more often but I have seen all your videos I started watching you about two months ago but I have gone back and watch them you don't know how much you have meant in my life especially when I had brain surgery in April just listening to you make me feel better so thank you so much. If you don't see comment rest for sure that I'm glue to u tube listening to your smooth words. My prayers are with your friend for a speedy recovery. Have a blessed day 🙏🏼❤️
When I listen to you, I am not lonely because I am by myself too so but I have pets so I talk to them a lot, but I just love listening to you and how you grew up
Another great video.. Thank you!🥰Will sure be praying for your dear friend, Marlene. 🙏💐That heat wave in Az is horrible, & so sorry that she had to move during all of that extreme weather. Hoping that she recovers soon, & is resting well. Really love that blouse on you! I noticed it right away. Hoping you'll enjoy your new glasses when they arrive. Those were interesting things that you talked about concerning food. i like to add sugar to cooking carrots also... That helps them to taste more like fresh garden carrots that way. Very thankful that both you & Jan are feeling better gradually. Please take good care, & many blessings to you! 💓👏🥰
Good morning Granny Pat. I fell asleep early and here I am at 3:30am. A smile to see you had posted. You made me hungry talking about your dinner so I’m going to make me some bacon and eggs😋My boyfriend is going to think I’m crazy😂. I’ve been following Marlene since you mentioned her I believe she must be your number one fan 🤩. I’m looking forward to hearing what the doctor says today 🙏🙏. Happy Jan is doing better.Love our talk, have a blessed day until next time❤️❤️. By the way you look very pretty and thank you for the smile to start my day. ❤🙏❤️
Oh dear Pat you weren’t talking to yourself all your u tube friends are with you your such a caregiver I’ll say a little prayer for your friend I talk to myself all the time . Thankyou for sharing and take care 😘x
You look so pretty! You would be a great help to your friend in unpacking. My grandma painted her own home when she was in her early 80's and of course her grandson helped! A steak sounds so good right now. 😊 Biggest Hugs! 😁
Gorgeous earrings on a beautiful lady. So thankful you & your daughter are doing better. Answer to prayer. Praying for your friend, Marlene. Does she have family to help her? Sure hope so. ❤
