why are there so many negative comments here? The Kawa guy should have let you pass, seeing as you carried way more speed than him in every corner but only got held up by his choice of lines. Defending your position a few times is cool, but when you consistently corner slower than someone behind you, you give some way for them to pass. It's good sportsmanship and it ensures that no one crashes or make mistakes. People in the comments have no idea what they are talking about.
I own a SDR and a Z1 So whoever wins, its ok with me, nice ride guys !! At 71 these rides and speed do not fail to get me fired up, and that horn blows me away !!
Holy hell........to even see a naked /fun bike run with these other bikes is impressive. Obviously the dude is a beast and can ride this track very well. But this dang KTM is drafting those bikes! That is impressive , and totally street legal!
Lots off bullshit opinions on here. Either way the KTM is doing very well considering what it is and I'm sure if both riders met in the pits afterwards they would have shook hands and said how mush fun it was out there.
The SDR is a sporty cruiser / touring bike. I have one. Great peppy bike for a day out on the country roads. Not a full faring track bike with track gearing. I think it did pretty good.
Interesting technique with honking the horn... What is the expectation then? That the other rider checks 5 times per lap if there is somebody behind him and then just lets that person pass? Drive through the pits shortly and straight onto the track again otherwise, then you will not see him anymore that session. Don't go honking the horn the whole time, it's silly and I'm pretty sure he can't here you anyways. If he can then it would be dangerous because he would have no idea why somebody is honking his horn...
that zx 10 knew you were behind him but didn't want to give way .. I hate riders like this at a track day .especiallly when they're on inline 4 superbikes and just depend purely on the machines top end .. annoying!
Na.. its the rider talents, not the bike for it was held like that.. Well the same type of bike were tested by Jeremy Mcwilliam in Ascari's track says otherwise.. He did "Duke" all of the supersports bike in a happy fun manners.. it was nicknamed the beast for a reason.. Taming it..
Its like the guy who drives 65mph in the left/passing lane and won't move or let you pass but I guess in a race if you consider blocking a faster rider from passing then what can you really do? I would've got pissed and slipped into the corner right up under him and if he slips, oh well, should've gave way.
Incrível, uma naked dando canceira em uma speed de pista hahaha imagine se fosse contra uma z1000, ia dar nem graça rsrs show... 1290R sonho de consumo
What's with this blowing your horn? The Kawi wasn't even touching his knee..... He was out for a Sunday ride..... You should of carried much more cornering speed then him
If the Kawi rider wasnt pushing it then more reason to let the behind rider pass dont you think? He was carrying more corner speed than the Kawi, he had to slow down most of the time for the slower dude infront
Agreed, why blow the horn. KTM is coming in harder to every corner but ZX rider is picking much better lines. You can see the ZX is gong slower through several turns but winning out of the corner with consistent line choices
Really? One is a naked bike the other is a full faired sports bike. You're watching a bike video and don't know the difference between those two and a v twin vs an inline 4. C'mon dude
Maybe, but the guy on the ZX was picking better lines all day, he was slower in the corner & came out better over & over, KTM rider is not a track rider, you can see poor line choices over in over, coming in hotter & out slower because he’s on the wrong line. I think you’re right about equally matched riders whenever there is a naked vs SS, but these guys aren’t getting those bikes to the limits; neither could I
Hmm I don't know, a 600cc would have been passed with ease on accelleration. The green machine here is quite eager to get to 260, takes much longer on a 600.
@@damytzeus OK this was 2-3 years ago but I think I was saying the results would be the same with a good rider or a bad rider. The best results would be to switch riders and ride again.
It's tire choice very often. For example, my KTM Adventure 1190R came with Continental road tires, started to wobble heavily from +160 km/h. Complained at the dealer, dealer checked all ( steering head, diff suspension setups, tire pressures... ) Not solved. Escalated to KTM Belgium, advice followed, = problem was solved by switching to Dunlop trailsmart road tires. Even my 50/50 tires from Mitas allow me to ride +/-210 km/h without wobble...
MrKdr500 No, the 1290 Super Duke R doesn't have different TC levels. You can only turn it off. Only the new 2017 Super Duke will have different TC levels.
@Dario Schär It Does have different levels, supermoto, rain, street,ABS ON,ABS OFF & with the race dongle you can get a Track mode reflashed to ECU. i fucking own a superduke & mine has it.
