How do i limit the charge current is there any setting for this S8254 iC ?? because when i charge it take around 4 5Amps i want it to charge with around 500mA or 1A

Hey mate, quick question. I want to build this to power a some LEDS and an ESP32, so I wire in the 3 cells to the board and the input, is also the output and I just put a switch Infront to stop it discharging when I'm trying to change it basically?

Very precise description. Here I have 2 questions, 1) can we use 6 cells of 18650 3 in series and other each of 3 parallel to each cell just to increase the back up time (mAH) 2) Can we just use 2 cells only taking output between B- and B2 ?

Hi. I want to do some diy for a pc fan and install 3 cell 18650 batteries fan is 12v dc and 0.7 A. The batteries are already protected batteries high drain flat top panasonic 3400mah. you think it would work what else do I need to buy?

I'm really new at electronics. Videos like this that explain everything in detail are excellent for building skill for new makers. I searched for ages to find something that was easy to follow, and this video really hit the spot. Now I'm ready to 3D print a case and build something like this. I wonder how much extra work it would take to make a power output interface that could take two of these (so a discharged battery pack in the pair could be removed and replaced). Or if that power distributor could take more packs to make it expandable...

I have a few hoverboard batteries (20cell packs). How can I reconfigure them into a 12v pack using the same BMS it comes with…?

Assuming that they are 18650 cells it’s a good start but I don’t know anything about the bms it could be designed to have the cells arranged to be 24v it’s to hard to know without having all the details. You could salvage the cells and reuse with a new bms like the one I have shown in this video. Or the larger modules that have higher current output (depending on needs). Unless they are still working. Chances are if you have hoverboard batteries lying around something was wrong with them. And that could mean cells in the pack could be faulty and you would need to test each cell to know if they are working properly and what the output is to ensure your pack is balanced properly

@@ScottyDIY Those hoverboard packs are 36v and mine are fully charged at 40v+. I’m sure they’re all fine.

The charger is a higher voltage than 12V at 12.6V so as long as the load can take that voltage then it should be fine, in saying that though the chargers output current are very small so if the load is something other than maybe a couple small LED's (low current requirement) I would expect that the batteries would not be getting enough current to charge, plus if the voltage does drop do to the load by a few millivolts the board may think the charge is no longer connected and switch to output instead or charging. I haven't tried it but I would defiantly suggest charging the pack to full capacity without any load before trying to parallel the charger and load, make sure the load isn't greater than the max current of the charger.

You can buy a 12v powerbank or 12v lipo / li-on packs but they are usually more expensive. But on the plus side with the power banks they tend to have more options like 12v/5v outputs. Depends on how much money you want to spend
