What about the fuse?? What are the specs on the fuse for the backup system?

Hi there.... I went with two identical pumps, one sitting on a brick to make it higher... both pumps discharge into one pipe and have check valves. The higher pump is connected to an inverter that draws from two group 31 deep cycle batteries in parallel... the batteries are trickle charged...if the main pump dies, (house current) the other one pumps... I have a water lever sensor installed to my house alarm... no more sump pump issues :)

Invest in a better battery charger like the Noco Genius 5, it will prolong the life of your batteries and thus pay for itself. Also, hook up the charger up to a positive terminal on one battery and the negative on the other battery. Your pump should be hooked up this way also. This allows even charging and discharging of both batteries.

My guy, I’m going to have a cold before I’m done watching this if you don’t stop sniffling 🤪 In all seriousness though, I don’t know if a can do a dual battery setup with my system. It’s a watchdog and has a sensor for fluid levels in the battery.

Go with group 31s and don't put your batteries on cold concrete floor. At least place them on some 2x8 pieces of wood.

If the alarm is going off what does that mean ? High water?

So the previous battery was 3 years old ? Along with the back up pump itself. Was the old battery an AGM type ? Couple of things about back pump chargers - some slightly older ones may not do well with AGM style batteries. Always check with the manufacturer. Also some may not charge more than one battery.

How old was the pump on this unit? My superior/Barracuda pumps usually only last 3 years at best.

My sump pump has a red blinking lite on lite labeled pump run status. What is the problem? Thank u

Mines wont cut off n the red light wont cut off
