So the previous day of this run, I had done my casual playthrough of Stacklands which was blind; this speedrun's route featured in my PB was also blind, meaning I haven't seen any other speedrun of this game before, only that I knew WR was just over 11 minutes long in total, which is pretty cool. This run was also on my first day of attempts, but I've been having a good amount of fun just attemping the speedrun overall, because it gave me serious RTS speedrunning vibes but with a lot of RNG seeded inherently in the run.
The category itself's goal is to defeat the act 1 boss in as short time as possible on a fresh file. The way I decided to go about this was going up to 6 militia ranked villagers and using the feeding at the end of the day in order to heal during the fight to increase overall DPS. At the start of the run my thoughts were to get the basic stone + lumber suppliers and then follow up by mass producing Shed's to ~60+ supply to help give me better macro flexibility later in the run. You'll notice I intentionally lose 2 villagers at the very start, and then dig through booster packs to replace them due to a seeded RNG factor that is native to the game if you only have 1 villager.
From there just consistently increasing the number of villagers I have to that target number of 6, and using 1-2 soil + poop generated by a rabbit to supply an apple orchard to fuel my villagers. The hardest parts of the run are definitely from the 2-4 minute mark and then the mid game portions just simply because there is a lot on the board and digging for those villagers in booster pack and then maintaining constant worker production and building is tough.
Overall the run is pretty fun, idk how much more I'll dig into it, but I have some great ideas for the future if I continue to chip away, cheers.
