Yeah, they released Link's Awakening, basically unchanged in term of content, for $60. No way in hell they would basically give away Skyward Sword in a collection. WW and TP though are very likely in a 2 pack.
@@Danbo22987 Link' Awakening might be virtually the same in 'content' - ALL assets and ALL coding plus the whole work behind the interations to find the right mix between old and new ALL COSTS MONEY. This is virtually a new game and Nintendo gave away Mario 3D All-Stars for the same amount, so why shouldnt they do it for Switch?
I don't believe they would announce it or anything zelda wise until after nintendo views the mario celebration is over. Either when 3d mario world port releases in February or when the mario 35th battle royale game is discontinued. I believe it will be soon after the February mario 3d world release.
I just picked up a Wii U last week and out of the games I picked up, that one, which I only got because it was cheap and thought would never be ported, ended up being way more entertaining than I thought it would be. The only disappointment was I didn't have anyone around to play the co-op games.
I'd LOVE to have Xenoblade X on the Switch, though ideally I'd have them at least tweak a few things in the porting process beyond the necessity of altering GamePad specific stuff to function more conventionally (namely, bigger font size options, better visual clarity in handheld mode and reduced pop-in).
@Christian Longo I'd wait a bit. Some of the online functionality isn't what it was on launch. And many of the systems need improvement. But if it never gets re-released then definitely play it on WiiU.
I feel the same! I was stunned by the game when it came out. I hope they up the graphics a bit instead of a straight up port but I know that’s unlikely. Plus it will be hard playing from the beginning again without a skell Haha
I think The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will come to the Nintendo Switch for The Legend of Zelda 35th Anniversary as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker + Ganondorf's Fury.
@@ninmarbob Sounds like a dumb idea to name it with that with Wind Waker HD, but this is Nintendo we're talking about, and they do dumb ideas no one wanted yet for the most part, they sell millions. Paper Mario Origami King for example gets heavily hated by the fans from back in the first two Paper Mario games, yet it sold so many copies of it. Because of that, I think Nintendo might rerelease Starfox Guard, which nobody wanted as everyone hates Slippy. A good example of his uselessness is in Starfox 64, where not even 5 minutes into the first level, he's stuck under enemy fire and you need to rescue him due to his terrible combat piloting. All he was good for in Starfox 64 was showing you the boss enemy's healthbar, which you don't need to see to be able to win. But yeah, I hope Wind Waker gets rereleased on Switch in some form, as I never owned the game (either version in fact), and only borrowed it from my best friend at the time for a very brief time. I got stuck at Forsaken Fortress, which me as a kid did not understand how to clear it when I have no sword.
Finally played Nintendoland for the first time around Thanksgiving, it was so much fun. Mario Chase, with the camera showing the person's face on the TV, lol. One of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had.
@@chamtheman551 Nintendo could revive the wii u if they really wanted to. With the functionality of the Wii U gamepad, they could make it into a streaming platform.
I'm so happy to see Jon is thriving in what he loves to do. I have watched this man for years on many different channels. And no matter where he decides to go, just know, we we'll be there too ❤️
Yeah, I played the demo on the Wii U and was planning to buy it there until I saw the switch port announcement. Judging by the demo, I think is not a masterpiece, but still an interesting experience to play.
@@EyefyourGf No they shouldn't port them because the Wii U exclusives need to stay. They make up the Wii U's value. What I'm saying is it would make the Wii U less, *Special*
Xenoblade X NEEDS to be on Switch. I love that game soooooooo much. Pretty much the only game I played on Wii U. If it came to Switch, I will buy it the millisecond it is available. And hopefully it gets a sequel cause the ending left such a huge cliff hanger
The fact we got a port of Tokyo Mirage Sessions before the Zelda remasters or Xenoblade X is ridiculous lol. Hopefully not too long before the Zeldas come over
@@princessjulieta Why not? The existence of Switch versions doesn't suddenly make Wii U copies any less playable. There is no reason for any games to be stuck on dead consoles barely anyone bought outside of the edge cases specifically designed to require Gamepad functionality. If you think the games are good, why do you want fewer people to be able to play them? There's a reason every good Dreamcast game got GameCube and/or Playstation 2 ports. This is no different.
@@Nocturne989 Content creators would disagree many many content creators bought a Wi U for a certain game or certain games. But I agree not every person did buy a Wii U. It's just I want some games to remain exclusive to a Wii U. It was a thing. It happened. You can't forget about it. Plus too many ports is a bad thing. A console/handheld needs more new games then ports/remakes.
@@princessjulieta Wind Waker is my favorite video game of all time. But I’m not about to keep a poor console for an HD version of one game. Also both GameCube and Wii U had pretty poor sales, there are plenty of people who have never played Wind Waker and putting it on Switch would allow them to
10:25 I’m so glad you mentioned Nintendo Land, that game was amazing and one of those me and my family would go back to every once and a while and play for a bit :)
I wholeheartedly agree. The Zelda remakes, XCX, and Nintendo land deserve a switch port. To the other games I can't say anything cause I never played em
@@souljastation5463 So the Switch controlls arent bad. Far from it, but they just dont feel the same as the Wii. They work fine and I didnt have any problems playing it. But you do have to get used to it. I wouldnt think that Skyward Swords controlls would be bad, but just not as good as the Wiis
The Wii U is a great and nostalgic console. They didn't advertise it well and you could've kept a wii for a while but damn it was fun. My favorite console to this date.
Yoshi’s Woolly World is one of the reasons I’m thinking of getting another Wii-U. I loved that game. It was just fun and simple. When I didn’t want to think a lot and just enjoy playing a game, it was the one I’d go to. Just relaxing to me. Right now all I got is a regular Wii. Also I want to play Breath of the Wild.
part of me kinda wants it to stay as a Wii U exclusive and the other part wants it to come to Switch mainly because i dont feel like whipping out my Wii U.
@@Link200767 Xenoblade X needs to be put on the Switch. So many people bought 2 or 1DE and have no idea X exists or refuse to buy a Wii U just to play it.
@@TheRealDerg I think it is the latter. A “new” Xenoblade game every year on the Switch has practically become an expected thing at this point, so chucking out Xenoblade X again to either satiate the fanbase until a Xenoblade 3 and/or get fans ready for a Xenoblade X2 would be the expected move. The only wrench in that idea is the new IP(which could still become a Xenoblade game like X did).
For what little it matters you can count me in. Also Guard is a good game that does use the Gamepad in a meaningful way. It's a great proof of concept that tower defense games would have worked perfectly on the Wii U.
Quite honestly I would have loved to play Star fox zero. The controls seem like a hassle but there is nothing wrong with them. The game seems fun so I would be in.
It's a game that had potential, a bit derivative yes, but the core mechanics worked. But it always circles back to the control scheme. Once you got used to it they were.... adequate, and I'm not opposed to games with motion controls like Skyward Sword or Kid Icarus Uprising. But it got to points in Star Fox Zero where i became so frustrated with the controls that I turned my console off mid battle during the boss fight on Fachina, and against Andross.
I recently played it myself and there is a fun game to play. But there are times the game hurts to play. Like why the fuck is the barrel roll mapped to the joystick
@@hinoname3954 I do have a Wii U and all the games I mentioned. I just want them on the switch for portability and because they're great games that deserve some love, which unfortunately due to the Wii U doing poorly, they never really got. I do love the Wii U still though
My favorite game on Wii U was Affordable Space Adventures, it utilized the game pad so well and multiplayer story was so much fun. I don’t think it could ever get ported to switch, especially since it was a third-party title, but it will always be one of my top games
I played the entirety of Star Fox Zero in Co-op and it was one of the best experiences on the Wii U. Having one player as a gunner and one as a pilot was an absolute blast and I can't recommend it enough if someone is looking for a fun multi-player game.
@@JD69Han wow that's crazy, on ebay UK it's only £20-30 sealed BRAND NEW. I might buy a copy but I wonder why it's not going up nearly as high as the American release
I totally agree with you. I think Nintendo will bring Nintendoland to the switch. Imagine if Nintendo brought it to the switch with online gameplay...it would be a hit. Itll be like a live interactive amusement park.
Although the Wii U was a failure I am very happy to have one, it was one of the consoles that made me most happy and it was the console that had some of Nintendo's best exclusives, besides I had the chance to play Breath of the Wild on launch day, I was able to play many games like Super Mario 3D World and Bayonetta 2 years before Nintendo if you want to think about bringing them to the Switch, I don't think I need to mention the promotions from that time too, even today I remember at the launch of Mario Kart 8 when I got Pikmin 3 totally free and there were Nintendo Selects with games like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for $20, nowadays it is unthinkable to see any Nintendo exclusive for less than $60, as times have changed... thankfully I was able to enjoy it.
@@MoonSarito The Wii U wasn't a failure in my book! It was the only console that I played during its lifetime, so I got the full experience! I really had a fun time with it, and I still play it every now and then.
I'm not sure if I'd like the game on the Wii U itself, but I've really enjoyed emulating it on PC (with both windows displayed on one screen, making it a lot easier to glance between the two). The gyro aim is a very cool and useful feature, and it helps make combat so much better in All-Range Mode.
@@hahasamian8010 Yeah, I feel like that was the big limiter on intuitiveness for the WiiU, the fact that by their very nature the two screens couldn't be locked in your view like with the DS systems. Just too many variables for the human brain to get used to in casual play.
Same. I keep feeling that the same game, retooled for single-screen play, would be seen as an excellent StarFox game and one that would top Starfox 64 easily. It was such an expansive game, with which rarely people played it long enough to unlock the dimensional gate stuff. For an arcade-style space romp, it was a pretty large game.

11:44 Yoshi's Woolly World has one of the best Amiibo feature ever! Playing as 2 Yoshis at the same time is just amazing and so much fun! @@thomaseggen4480 the perma evade build is broken also, but more of a late game thing. Game overall is pretty bad at balancing. Still super fun though.
Those sections in NES Remix where Link is in Super Mario Bros and Toad in Legend of Zelda should be the basis of it's own game where you play through classic NES games with characters from other games.
Please, nintendo, for the love of all that is holy, please port wind waker HD to the switch already. It looks absolutely beautiful, and I just want to relive my childhood nostalgia in HD
But they also said that in 2017 or 2018. Things changed a lot from back then. Considering Xenoblade 2 just surpassed 2M units worldwide and Xenoblade DE is selling pretty well, I think this may have changed.
Specifically the testing part because of how large the game. Xenoblade is slowly moving up the ladder of most popular jrpgs so at some point the port cost can be justified but who knows when
I literally just bought a Wii U last night b.c of that. Excited to also play XenoBlade X and the Fatal Frame game I just found out about in this video.
Wii U was a very unique idea but sadly marketing and third party support hindered it. The fact that there have been so many games that people want on Switch highlights that it had a great library overall imo.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 tbh, if the Wii U had consistent third party support, I think the 1st party library would be considered the best of the era. But with no other releases asides from that time to time the console felt very empty some times.
While "Xenoblade Chronicles X" is by far one of the games of my life, I would love "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" and "Tank! Tank! Tank!" to make the jump to the Switch.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is awesome. Lots of people talk about how daunting it is but it's really not. It's just a massive game that you need to take your time with and explore the menus. It gives me the same feeling I had when I played Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast.
@@Danbo22987 Dreamcast was around for one year, the Wii U was relevant for roughly five (four and a half). It had some decent games, was more powerful than it's competition at launch (360 and PS3), but quickly became overshadowed the following year with the Xbox One and then PS4. It severely lacked third party support especially from EA during their "unprecedented partnership" days of the Wii U.
@@nickdude07 That's true, though if the 3DS hadn't been successful enough to buffer the Wii U, I feel it would've had a much faster turnaround to the next console.
It won't be like the GameCube or Dreamcast because the list if exclusive game left on it in a few years will be very small. Even if you count the multi platform games where the Wii U version had touchpad functionality it wouldn't help since they are still not the best versions of the games.
@@nickdude07 The Dreamcast, was released in Japan in late 1998 and it stopped getting games in early 2002 , (though a few small japanese games from time to time kept getting released there until like 2007), and it did get a more than solid third party line up in those 3 years, unlike the Wii U
I would really love to play Twilight Princess again, and it would be nice to finally have the opportunity to play Wind Waker. I played Phantom Hourglass and loved it, but couldn't play Wind Waker because I never owned a Gamecube.
It blows my mind that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have not been ported to the Switch yet. That is legit just throwing away money on Nintendo's part.
After listening to his sultry bass tones, I never imagined he'd be a young, t-shirt wearing, honest to goodness gamer. I imagined an older, hired voice actor with little to no gaming XP.
