Disney had nothing to do with it. Marvel Comics took the name when the Fawcett comics trademark lapsed then won a lawsuit to keep it when DC gained the rights and started producing new comics, which for a while had the tag line “The Real Captain Marvel. The character name within the comics only changed around the time of the New 52.
@thewalrusclown
@thewalrusclown 3 месяца назад
@@matthewrosenthal753 A) DC and Marvel shared the name with no problem until AFTER the Disney buy out, and the characters name was changed because the mouse eared resheam threatened a lawsuit, that and I'm saying it despite not having anything to do with the subject anyway, but, (fan rage incoming) NEW 52 SUCKED BALLS AND THE FACT THAT ASPECTS OF IT ARE STILL TREATED LIKE THEY ARE CANNON INSTEAD OF PUTTING THINGS BACK THE WAY THEY BELONG IS THE REASON DC STILL SUCKS!!!!! Dan Dedio apparently didn't learn his lesson the last time after the fan backlash after he soft rebooted beast wars into beast machines, shit!!!!
@matthewrosenthal753
@matthewrosenthal753 3 месяца назад
@@thewalrusclown Never really liked the new 52. Disney had nothing to do with The name change. The suit only said that the name Captain Marvel could not appear on the cover. DC to change things up and stop any lingering confusion change their character’s name to match the Wizard.

I will never argue with Wonder Woman being #1. However, Wonder Woman, Isis, and Captain Marvel were all only in the 70s. I do have the very short clip of the only time we got to see Wonder Woman revert back from the costume on my channel for those who would like to see it.

@GENXPERIENCE As far as the 80s TV specifically, the only one that I've seen that I remember having any kind of transformation sequence was K.I.T.T going Super Pursuit Mode in *_Knight Rider_* Season 4. There was the Salkind's *_Superboy_* series from the late 80s, but it's really just the standard Superman shirt rip. Ooh, I do remember seeing bits of the short-lived 80s *_Hulk_* cartoon on VHS.

@@GENXPERIENCEThe live action Hulk transformation scenes used to scare the living daylights out of me as a kid. I'd run and hide, hearing the high pitched sting that signalled David Banner's metamorphosis. I wasn't really scared of the actual Hulk, though. The '80s cartoon transformation has a few great stock sequences with flashing backgrounds like He-Man and She-Ra, except we see virtually every step of the change, as Banner grows into The Hulk and tears out his shirt and shoes. The funny thing about the show was that Banner's clothes reappeared undamaged when he changed back.
