When they are starting to bed and the big females are cruising, blind cast with big baits in the transitionary points between the flats and channels. They go and feed between cruises. They go out deep to feed but come back through those points like clockwork so I guess this is more the way I do it since I don't have Live Scope.

Largest double I ever seen. After catching a 13.1 lb. bass on Dec. 29th, I caught an 11.4 in March and a 12.65 in April.. all on the Cal Delta. Come get ya some of that..

Out of the Milliken series rod is the best all around. A rod that can do about anything like crank baits to flipping docks and frog and so on. Look for that one rod I can take anywhere and use for anything that way I’m not carrying 3 to 4 different poles around trying to fish

I'm trying for 10 or more lost some big ones this year and that's a bass of a lifetime

Been catching some on beds the past week here in TN caught the same fish twice withing 15 mins

I ALWAYS fish deeper first early on. The bass already on the beds early have seen pressure from lures AND predators, and are widely spread apart, it equals slower fishing. The deeper females are still feeding and just as heavy or heavier, while the males are scattered. As the spawn develops fish that haven't seen a lure yet are quicker to bite. (Especially the males.) Doesn't matter which sex you catch first; I think it's the one that feels most vulnerable, NOT hungry, at any given moment will bite first, usually the males because they're further from the bed. Staying strictly on the beds are for the end of the spawn.

Some of my favorite parts are the humorous anecdotes added during editing.

I had a double last year on an a rig it was a 5lb smallmouth and a 3 1/2lb large mouth. I thought that was pretty cool.

When fishing big swimbaits on beds, you can ignore the male eating it, unless it self hooksets... and then eventually the female will realize the male isn’t doing his job, get pissed and eat. It’s mostly different fish though... if it’s ur Pb or a fish you can’t lose, being careful and slow is usually the way to go
