Catching Big Bass while fishing from the shoreline or bank. Bank fishing is most economical way to start fishing..Grab a rod and a few lures and go. Hopefully this video will show you some tip on how to catch some big fish.
This is a prime example of a to the point, easy to digest, and entertaining fishing tutorial. Please lord protect this man so he can bring years and years of content exactly like this
old country people gone catch don't matter where they are u could fish somwhere for an hour not catch balls then old country dude cones and catches 2 10 pounders
@@Napoleon_dynamite oh you like that white dot with a white torso huh? I've just never ever looked at someone's subs on this site. Never been that bored/intrested. I just don't see how a heartfelt story about my grandpa and your comment are related?
No exaggeration, I've been landing twice as many bass as the past few seasons from Roland's videos alone. I spent so much time focusing on which baits and gear, and missed all the small things like cover and location. He makes it so much simpler. You're the goat Roland, and you make everyone feel like an adventurous kid again when we fish.
He’s a phenomenal man, so humble. Such a genuinely nice guy. I mean how many people like Mr. Martin are gonna be excited to take pictures with a couple 40 year old guys at 5:30 in the morning. He gave me good luck that day and I landed my PB of 10.87lbs. I’ll take that memory to my grave
@@closinginonclosure You gotta love auto correct. Or is that... Got to? Godda? Gatta? Have to? You should have seen all the autocorrect trying to spell that stuff out.
He said "caught some of my biggest bass on topwater." As if he hasnt caught massive bass on worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and probably bare hooks. What a legend...
Everything else has gotten me respectable decent sized fish and in enough numbers to win tournaments if I were to compete.... but every single one of my largest trophy fish were caught with topwaters.
You can't help but watch the entire video with such a jolly guy... I spent all my life working my butt off and now I'm retired and I'm starting to fish again something I haven't done in many years and I realize especially pond fishing you can fish your tail off and never catch a damn thing but this guy will get you catching fish every time you go out
"Fish don't have eyelids" 🤯 - new realization - never thought of that. Wisdom from the master!! Now I know why to look for shady spots on bright sunny days.
@@lickdicker.2888 Ummm... NO! Shielding their eyes has nothing to do with it, but you are free to continue believing that as long as you want just quit spreading it as truth, keep it to yourself.
Mr Martin, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, Shaw Grigsby, Hank Parker, Orlando Wilson, even Fish Fishburn, made up my Saturday morning lineup when other kids were watching cartoons. I dug watching the In Fishermen at times as well. If ever I was to be envious of someone else’s profession, it would be one of them.
i used to watch your programs on cable tv in the 90's i'm 37 now glad too see you're still doing great roland ...you and bill dance were and still are my old skool favorites
Roland you were a trend setter for our generation. It would be awesome for you to make a video of your life related to fishing. You know, when you started fishing and the various doors that opened for you along the way in order for you to live your dream. Thanks for making this video, so informative.
I have never seen a guy have more fun fishing than Roland Martin. He is a true educator and motivator. What a great guy Roland is. A true fishing legend!
I've been riding with Roland all of my life he's timeless I swear I'm 52 years old and I've been watching Roland all of my life I don't know how old he is but, whatever it is he's been doing works, he's been the bass master king for who knows how many years, Bill dance yeah he's great probably the best crappie fisherman of all time, I know all the new guys the googan squad, ike icanelli, but, if you want to learn something, Roland has forgotton more knowledge than most pro anglers know, I'm glad to see him on you tube, I find it funny when I watch him now and when I do these cabelas demos, I basicly have a Roland Martin master Fisherman's degree, I can call it before I see it, thanks Roland for the years of winters that when I couldnt get out but, I had the fever you were there! Maybe someday if your ever in Texas we can fish for some tanks!
Roland I can say I never met a more humble celebrity I saw you as a kid on tv. And you came into work place in 2017 I still have that picture just made my year thanks for everything keep it up God bless you for teaching us all so much
These videos are Gold. Most people publish content that discloses/promotes name brands of lures etc.... printed on their shirts. Mr. Roland, gives the how, when. what, and where you expect from a true teacher. Gold.
Roland Martin I love you grew up as a child in clewiston moorehaven labelle Palmdale venus Lakeport Okeechobee Brighton area I remember fishing with Walt Reynolds Orlando Wilson and you your self as a child Craig Grubbs was married to my grandmother and he was famous for Bass fishing how I met you as a child I also remember Joseph Whitehead and Morris ridgedall owns ridgedall& son clewiston also John Hillard who owns Hillard brothers cattle ranch and sugar cane fields you should do a episode of fishing in the canals pump stations and irrigation ditches in that rural country even if it is just big pan fish which is everywhere there
I've been watching this man set the hook since I was 14 years old living in Bonita Springs Florida dreaming of Lake Okeechobee & And going to Roland Martin's fishing camp... Roland Martin bill dance And the bass professor & It was sad to hear of his passing at such a young age.. That's when bass fishing was the real deal
Roland you have lived the dream life since the very beginning of the the B.A.S.S. . You have graced the pages of so many fishing magazines, books, and web sites and have inspired and motivated anglers from all over the world. As a spindly young angler in the 1970s, my dream was to fish Lake Okeechobee. In the early 1980s me and 2 friends packed into a 2 seat hoda crx hatchback, and drove all the way from Massachusetts, to live that dream! I still have a single 12" Hummer Hawg worm left from that trip, still in the original package.! Anyway, I see your busy as ever, teaching and sharing so much for so many. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for inspiring me and so many other anglers, to share in that dream life, whether or not they made it to Okcheechobee !
Man I would love to spend a few hours fishing with Roland.. what a ton of knowledge he has!! Watched him when I was a kid with my dad.. love watching this man🎣🎣
I watched Roland use the Senko in this video. This week went out and caught a 4 pounder and a 5 pounder on back to back casts. I use a ewg 2/0 hook with a Polamar knot. Texas rigged on a industrial pond. Only thing I noticed was trying to keep the big bass from jumping was to keep the rod tip down. Its works really well why trying to land bigger fish. The color that works for me is Green pumpkin. See ya! At the Lake's. Shawn
I'm sick about it but they drained that area where I did the film. Tomorrow I'm looking for new water! It's a never ending challenge keeping up with the good fishing in the Everglades!
Roland I couldn’t have more tips more tricks more pleasant approach to fishing than I have seen! You show the details what us up and coming kids need!!
This is awesome to see a pro fish from the bank and still kick ass like that... A true master at work here... Feels good to see roland martin still at it.
Roland, Scott, I'll never pass up the chance to watch and learn from you guys. I like the fact y'all can get out of the big boats and fish like the majority of us.......just as fun to beat the banks, thanks.
I can honestly say, Roland has taught me more about catching big bass then any man alive! Thanks for all the tips back in day that I used all over the country. What a pleasant surprise , to see you pop up with a video. You are the Bassmaster!!
I still got his paper back how to guides from when I was a kid way before we had color tv or cable only 3 channels. Lol. Man what a time it was to be alive as a young south ga boy when cable came out and was able to watch him and bill dance . I sured learned alot . Cause way back then my family fished to eat not sport so I was the first to invest in artificial and never looked back. Good memories . Roland Martin is one the goats .legend 😉💪🏼
Wow just seeing this out of the box ru-vid.comUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Thanks for thinking of us Roland. Much appreciated. Nice to know it doesn't always require boats, motors, fishfinders, and that sort of thing... Been enjoying you since you started way back when. I'd say you caught your fair share out of that location, not to mention fishing around a gator... Sometimes they can be a pain but must times they just ignore me. Wow what a beautiful shot of that last Bass hitting that frog. Thanks.
AWWW SON...... never gets old. I've watch your show since I was a kid and now I get to see you in action once again. Thanks for the Saturday moring memories and teaching me how to be a better fisherman. Now it would be awsome if you and Bill Dance could do a show together for old times sake. That would make my day and I bet alot of other guys as well. P.S. Helicopter lure still works!!
Me too....just told my 18 yr vh old son I grew up on this dude. I remember when me and my dad rented a boat in 1992 on Okeechobee and saw Roland at Bait shop.
Love Roland’s land fishing optimism and he explains what he uses. Not everyone does that. Well done. I want to get My unused rod and lures out for once. Well done. Oh sun!
I'm 50 years old,and I remember watch shows like yours, Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, and of course Uncle Bill Dance every Saturday with my grandparents. This really brought back some great memories. Thank you for all you do !!!
Always great to see a man doing what he loves. He's probably caught more fish than all the commenters put together, and still gets a thrill everytime. Good health my man.
Awesome Roland! It is such a pleasure anytime I have a chance to see you in action! I can't even adequately express how grateful I am to be able to learn from you! 2 Poles and a couple baits in your pockets and you just absolutely crush it from the bank; I am in awe!
How is this even possible....I've stumbled into a time warp where the fabled legendary mythological Fisher King of my long-lost youth brings it all back to basics in the humblest way....amazing
It's amazing that , after all this time and so many fish, he still gets so excited about a strike. I hope I never loose the enthusiasm either. God Bless you Roland.
Late to the party but can't tell you how much I learned from and enjoyed this video! Predominantly a bank fisherman my whole life (I'm 68) this was of particular interest to me and I look forward to more great videos as I go through your episodes like this one. You inspire confidence in a sport that had gotten so overloaded with gimmicks and commercialism that the simplistic approach was forgotten in favor of speed and technology. Bass don't have eyelids, sunglasses or hats is the kind of critical thinking I enjoy the most while laughing at the same time! KUDOS and thank you for a GREAT video!!
Used to love waking up Saturday morning to Roland Martin and Bill Dance fishing then sneaking into the old farm ponds in Arkansas and catching hawgs 😎🐟🐡
Thanks so much! I grew up fishing from my Dad's outboard boats for bass with lures, like in the tournaments. We watched all the fishing shows. Now I mostly shore fish in populated areas so your advice is greatly appreciated.
Roland Martin could be the most big headed professional bass fisherman out there and if it were anyone else, they would be but yet he's got the most humble attitude. I respect the crap out of him. A guy like that will reach a lot of new anglers and start them off having respect for one another.
Love reading all the great comments of thanks for all the years of absolutely the best entertaining fish catching videos. All the respect Roland gets is deserved. Truly a legend fisherman, teacher, and entertainer. And Tyler , excellent job filming, editing!
Roland so glad you’re back and getting stronger! I’ve followed you for years and it’s nice to see you back at it and enjoying what we all love! Fish on!
