13 Problems with the iPhone 13 Pro & Pro Max

FYI Turning off auto-brightness will keep the phone from automatically adjusting the brightness but it will not prevent the screen dimming issue Max talks about. When the phone ramps up the usage it will dim no matter what you do. The 13 now dims less automatically and it takes more to get it to dim. 12 Pro Max, now 13 Pro user.

The back swipe is important in android phones, when you switch to iphone you will feel its necessity every single time...

A few things I’ve heard from Android users they wish iPhones had are display options for pictures on the Home Screen, interactive widgets, the ability to close all open apps at the same time, and the ability to send post dated text messages easily at a specific time.

I'm considering moving to the 13 pro Max from the S21 Ultra, but my concerns include, 1. Not as customisable 2. No Always on Display 3. No speed dial 4. No fingerprint scanner 5. No as comfortable in the hand, sharper edges and heavier. 6. Bigger bezels and a notch.

I’m getting the 13 pro hopefully before the end of the year :) so far I’ve ordered a charger 😂

Very informative and totally agree on all points regarding iOS vs Android

I couldn't agree more on that universal back gesture. That's the most annoying thing for me. I have also recently switched from S21 Ultra. Few things I'd like to see as well: call answered/ended vibration notification, double press power button to start camera or something else by choice, volume up to answer a call...

the screen dimming problem is due to the phone getting too hot during games, out doors in bright light and also using the camera. once the phone gets hot, the screen display will dim down. there has been a work around by putting the phone in power saving mode, the screen will still dim down but not nearly as much as the phone doesnt get as hot while power saving mode is on

I’ve noticed that the sound volume of the camera shutter click, many notifications, keyboard taps and the close button are very low. I tried everything like resetting all settings, complete factory restore, sound and haptics, etc. Speakers work well, even went to the Genius Bar for a hardware diagnostic. It’s likely a software issue. What are your thoughts? Thank you for your attention.

Lighting in the new studio is totally on point!

For what it’s worth, I had the screen-touch bug on an iPhone 11 too. Getting on iOS 15.1 fixed the issue and RU-vid works great again.

Flares in the camera lens, the excruciating slow transfer speed of video files for editing on the laptop and the lack of back button made me wish I never left android for the 12 pro even after a year of trying to adapt. I will be back soon.

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I can’t seem to connect on wifi to all apple services (app store, podcasts, itunes..). I can connect to it while on mobile data, and everything else on Wi-Fi works with my iPhone 13…

I am having a really bad experience with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Home Screen randomly toggles to edit mode. I called Support, visited the Genius Bar where they witnessed the issue happening and the best they could offer was to restore the phone. I did so and same issue persisted. They even suggested an Otter Box case which did not resolve the issue either. So they replaced the phone thinking I had defective hardware. The new phone has the exact same issue. Any ideas or thoughts appreciated.

Hi, a couple of questions about the Iphone 13 pro Max. How long does it shoot in 4K without overheating? Is it possible to shoot with the 3 back cameras simultaneously (maybe with an app)? And lastly, is it possible to control de camera remotely?

Great video alot of good points but I think the charging and the notch for me are a no go.

Just trying out a iPhone 13 Pro Max, I am disappointed with photographs from the camera. The 1x lens seems acceptable, but the 3x is very poor with loss of detail and sharpness. I tried some photos with the iPhone 13 Pro Max from a tripod triggered by a remote control. There was no wind, hence no camera shake. The results like I say were very disappointing. Now I used to use an iPhone XS, the images were stunning from both the 1x and 2x lenses. Any idea why ? Could this be down to poor optical lenses or a software issue? Any advice would be appreciated !!

Once I turn on the stopwatch in clock app in iphone and forgot to turn off.... After 1 week I found out that the stopwatch was still running in the background... There is no way to know on the display or notification panel that stopwatch is on... On android... Clock icon can be seen on notification panel or in always On display so that one can know its running....

I also have a problem about touch issues so any tips to fix that?

The biggest issue I have with iOS is having to use iTunes to transfer anything. Android is plug and play with Windows Explorer and pops up like any other drive. The funny thing is, that iOS does that with photos. If it could do that for music and things like zip files, that would solve the problem. iTunes is horrible. It constantly loses where your music is unless you let it re-arrange your library, but then they get sent all over the place never to be found again... iTunes needs to die. Let us have a simple "Downloads" folder pop up when we plug in. simple fix.

I’ve noticed for the last week or two that my GPS is having trouble staying on track. It bounces between working fine, and being about half a block off track. It’s happening in areas where I haven’t previously had GPS issues (with previous iPhones) and it seems to be an issue using both Apple Maps and Google Maps, so I wonder if it’s hardware related. Anyone else having issues?

covered all my issues with the 13pro. especially painfully inconvenient on the lack of universal swipe back and having to remove mask to use face id. the AOD is not a particular issue for me tho, the phone always knows when to turn on the screen when i need to know the time, so to some degree its better than risking screen buring and drain some battery for AOD.

Hey, there is a problem that needs proper coverage. The notification sound volume at maximum is considerably less than the ringtone volume. Go to audio and set your ringtone to Apex then do the same thing for the text tone and listen. Much softer. I just got a 13 pro and this is frustrating as when the phone is in my pocket I simply don’t hear my messages coming in. Also the email tone I have selected is different from what sounds when I get an email on the Gmail app. Cannot seem to be able to change it… Never had this kind of problems with my S10+… I will return the iPhone if not solved within the next week.

Hi - Great reveiw - thanks. But what about call quality? Is it better than the iphone XR or 11 series. I'm a bit hard of hearing and i had to get rid of my previous iphones as i couldn't hear what people were saying, and they couldn't hear me clearly either....... I got in touch with someone at apple and they suggested i spend another couple of hundred pounds on air pods.... mmmmm so what about the iphone 13 call quality, has it significantly improved over previous iphones?

Is it also normal that the shutter sound for portrait mode is louder than the normal camera mode? Whenever I try to put it in full volume, the camera's shutter sound gets more lower instead of getting louder. It is only loud when the volume is set to 50%. And with the portrait's shutter sound, it is really load regardless if the volume is on mute or full volume. Also, is it really a known issue wherein the lightning to 3.5mm adaptor gets disconnected even it is still attached to the phone?

On the back swipe gesture , the best implementation I have seen of this is on the Huawei P30 pro , it’s gesture system is one of the best I have come across. Please apple bring it !

I have recently switched from a Pixel 2XL to an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I also switched Network providers from Vodafone to O2. One thing I have had issues with is sound quality. When I am talking to someone on Facetime, if we both talk, the audio cuts out and you get a few seconds of silence. It's also done the same with Whatsapp calls. Do you reckon it's a hardware or network issue? I am slightly starting to regret my choice in jumping to iPhone if it is hardware related as I never ever had issues with my Pixel. I only went with iPhone as I wasn't sold on the new Pixel 6 Pro design. Any suggestions on how to check for audio problems? Coming from Android I really miss my fingerprint scanner. Used it all the time, esp with Google Pay. Its a pain having to de-mask to get Face ID.

@The Tech Chap I have a major issue i believe with watching the recorded video from my camera in the photos app. The video blacks out and just the audio works. After i edit it with even one particular option and save it, the video starts working. What the hell?!

I have the XR and this is more likely a software bug but I have noticed Siri randomly coming on. Or does so when other people speak. I updated to 15.0.2 last night, will see if it continues

Has anyone had issues with the 13 pro when setting it up? I received a brand new one yesterday and went to set it up and it was the most laggy and disappointing experience I've ever had from apple. The phones been sat in the box since. I might get rid of it. Anyone else had this? Did it get better?

I have that really weird issue where my speaker of another part of the hardware does creaky sounds while scrolling or opening some apps. It’s when the CPU is working idk. Also I have framedrops in some games like 8 ball pool

Hey there! I recently bought a new laptop ( hp 15s fq 2072 au). But my device is shown as hp 15s fq 2000(2D118AV) in the hp account. I tried both ways to detect my device - web detection tool and manual entering of my product number & serial number, but still my model number is shown different. Awesome phone, but I miss the fingerprint recognition, having upgraded from a 7 plus.

The most perplexing thing about the 13 Pros this year (nevermind the 13s) (though should be noted that Samsung also omits this on their less expensive non-Ultra S series lineup) is definitely WiFi 6E. 6E is a nice upgrade from WiFi 6 and I have no idea why Apple left it from this year's phone. They've been so quick to adopt the newest WiFi standards up until now, like the 11 Pro Max immediately got WiFi 6 in the same year that other Android flagships did. So given that track record it's probably not "this year we've upgraded the phone enough, let's leave WiFi 6E for the 14 next year". There must be a technical explanation for this. Maybe the x60 modem doesn't include 6E as a standard feature? Maybe it's currently too power consuming and needs to get more efficient like first gen 5G supporting x50 modems from Qualcomm? It could also be that the 13 Pro does silently support it, but advertizes it under the 'WiFi 6' brand still. They did silently switch to 10-bit color OLED panels on the 12 Pro afterall.

Hi there, can I check if you are aware of the issue with the voice cutting out while using the speaker phone, especially during a video call?and it seems more noticeable when I have my phone standing against something and I am walking around my kitchen for example and talking to someone, they often complain my voice cuts out. RU-vid videos only uploads in 280 for me from the app. From photos I don’t even have the option to upload to RU-vid. Any help please?
