Jordan Peterson recently posted a video addressing what happens with female vs males going through puberty. Initially females have the advantage, then testosterone arrives and males exponentially develop. It’s fact. Today she is a competitor with the boys, soon the boys will be pursuing her. Socially that transition is very hard for females. Please, please, please put the same amount of time into your studies, as you do your practice. Your analytical, systematic mind will serve you well, develop it!
In terms of actual baseball intelligence she surpasses a lot of D1 college guys. She is definitely going to roster at a post-secondary institution. Will ie be D1? I don't know but there is more to baseball than play D1, she could be D2 or D3. Her baseball career isn't going to end somewhere in high school. Because she can already compete with a lot of high school players as is.
Wow - what a phenom. And what a sweet swing. Teddy "Ballgame" Williams would be impressed with the launch of the ball off her bat. Keep on, Ashlynn, and pursue that dream!
@@DJsaxby16 yeah, honestly they are not good enough. no cap. but if you can find a woman that throws 94, or can hit 40 bombs, or can cover the same amount of OF as the men playing there, then yes, they should. Nobody says they cannot play MLB, except for nature. Look at the broad pitching for the Oakland Ballers... she has a 15 ERA, against guys who barely played D3 baseball...
Some people who lack talent themselves will say this isn’t that great. But to see a girl pour her love into the game is just amazing to, and knowing My team has a girl on our team as well, is just leaving me like, wow, they need a women’s Major league
It makes me laugh to see the people who say never! She is doing things that most boys her age aren’t doing. She is incredibly athletic and very coach able! Don’t ever quit! We won’t know if she can make the MLB, but her dream is no different than any other ball player!
The problem is that once the boys are 16 their growth is exponentially. The girls at 13 growth is exponentially but once they hit 16 and on...they can't catch up anymore. Sorry, its just biology. I'm glad she is enjoying baseball now and continue to chase her dreams of MLB but the truth is that she got zero chance because of biology, maybe if she takes steroids or testosterone to help her growth after 16, she might have a chance to catch the boys.
@@helloman3676 Here is the thing only 7% of boys play college/ university ball. Most never play on a State/ Provincial Team or a National team, 75% don't see a high school roster, and less than 1% will ever see the major leagues yet we actively encourage boys in their pursuits and say maybe one day you will, when we know it's more than likely not happening. Yet it's this big issue when we encourage and let our daughters have that same lofty dream. I have no problems letting a kid have their dream. So far Ashlynn has played on the Ontario Provincial Team, She's been able to travel the USA/ CANADA with an All-Girls travel team, Be invited consistently to play on a boys team in California, and spent her time play AAA Rep Ball with the boys in Ontario Canada. She's also in a high range of being very likely to make the CANADIAN women's national team. There are opportunities for girls she might play NCAA ball of NCJAA baseball in the states, perhaps she lands on a Canadian College's roster. She won't be the first to do so. Let the girl have her dream and do what she can with the sport for as long as she wants and let life happen just like we do with the boys. It's literally no different.
Most people being negative are just threatened at the fact she is a girl and plays so well. That's obvious. She will be the first mlb female player. Idc if someone says im stretching it, Think what you want, SHE WILL be in the mlb.
Sooo what the difference between Mo'ne Davis and this lil girl? Mo'ne Davis eventually had to change sports as she couldnt hang with the boys as they all got older.
This happen to me and I’m honestly still pretty disappointed that I can’t play baseball and I definitely had some talent, so it’s cool to see her complete her dreams
Because size and strength matter, right now she is beyond her male peers because females mature faster, she has probably stopped growing or close to it, so I see her being able to play high school, maybe lower division college, possibly D1, but that will be pretty much it based upon nature.
@@TheGateKeeper001 If she makes a D3 team, it will only because someone to create a feel good story about having a female on the team. She would likely be the shortest, weakest, slowest player in all of D3.
Let's step back for a moment and get real. After her and all her male competitors finish going through puberty, she'll be 6 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter than the men. I'm all for feel good stories and encouraging people to work hard, but facts ultimately win out over feelings. She'll never play in the major league.
Let’s revisit this girl in a couple more years when puberty fully sets in for her AND her male counterparts. Zero chance she plays past junior college baseball.
When I was 13, it was 1969 and I wasn't allowed to play baseball simply because I was a girl, even though I was better than most of the boys. I see you Ashlynn and you're a BADA$$!! You're the best 13 year old I've ever seen play and I'll be following your high school and college baseball career. I hope I'm still around to watch you play in the big leagues.
Yeah 1969 was when girls wanted to be in the kitchen and helping for their family now they just wanna show that they’re better than boys It’s honestly really sad that we don’t have female foundations in the girls that we are raising
I`m a 76 year old male and I really hope to see women in MLB. they need to compete with the boys from tee ball up. if they let lefthanders play they should let woman.
I played high level "BBI"/AAU baseball as a kid. Travel team in the 90s. Two future MLB guys on my team (one of which was a top 3 pitcher in his era). We had a girl on the team at 11-12. A twin sister of one of the guys. She was decent. By 14? She couldn't get CLOSE to making the team. Ended up a D1 Softball player though. Puberty makes 'feel good' stories like this irrelevant. By 15? She's going to be WELL behind the curve. Pun intended. Biology matters.
Coaching perspective, I came up in the 90s and we had a girl who played against we couldn't get a hit off her. She could have probably beat many of us in high school but because of the mindset at the time she was pushed out, not taken series and her talents where not developed. Ashlynn she's coming up 30 years after us ( crazy to say that) and she's provided the change to develop, and be trained for the game and taken serious. She's likely going to be competitive on a post-secondary roster at some school, which who knows.
@@yuanjiazhu7940 Seriously, you lack something called life sight. It's not about her making an MLB team. Yes, she wants to be a player in the MLB, and she is allowed to have that dream. Who knows where she'll be in four or five years. Perhaps she breaks a huge barrier, or maybe she doesn't, power to her for having that dream, and the drive for trying to make something happen. Instead of pointing out or just going " You won't, you can't you're a girl" Instead just be supportive and encourage her to work, and see where her dreams and her ethic will take her on the diamond...just like we do every boy who plays good.
@@yuanjiazhu7940 It's a good thing I'm not a journalist. Instead I believe in encouraging all kids to rise to their fullest potential, and then try to shatter it in everything they do that is a healthy, productive and good thing.
Yall do have a league of yer own, softball. You wanna make the ball smaller and speed it up, go ahead. Bit stop lying to the girl. I was an awesome ball player as a kid. Stopped playing, went to the cages at 20 something and couldnt hit a 75mph fastball. And give me 2 weeks and ill start out hittin her.....cmon
Ya if she roids up and gets an upper body and skeletal replacement surgery cuz she'll never be able to come up with the consistent bat speed needed to play in the mlb. Sorry just facts.
I think it would be cool to start a womens professional baseba;ll league......if so, I just hope it doesnt have as few fans/game attendance as the WNBA
They do have men's fastPitch, the world championships are in Canada for the sport. One of the fastest pitchers in men's was Ty Stofflet and he was clocked at 104.7 MPH and the pitching distance was 46 ft. Which makes the response time needed to even hit it like hitting a 115-120 mph pitch in the MLB. The reaction time is faster in Fastpitch given the shortness of the base paths as well. I wouldn't knock the sport.
@@lilahbratcher3782 it was a team from Southern California so if you don’t live near there than idk. I completely forgot their name it was a year ago. Your alright
Instead of just saying she's a really good baseball player. Did They have to really bring the mlb into it , stop lying to people its not funny anymore.
It's amazing how people forget simple biology. Men and Women are different. As this little girl gets older boys her age will become stronger, faster, bigger and more athletic than she could ever be. This is nothing new, it's been going on for centuries.
For some sports yes I think the biology makes a big difference but baseball might be the one where it makes the least difference, because if you can hit a fast pitch and run, and field, I don't see why the fact that she's female should matter. If she's strong enough and capable, it could work. But if there will be opportunities for it in the next 8-10 years? Who knows
I think she would have a tough time playing any position in baseball other than pitcher as a full grown woman against full grown men but women aren’t less athletic than men, they are differently athletic. Women’s athletic gifts include better flexibility, on average a smaller/lighter body frame for higher flying gymnastic/acrobatic moves, and in some sports the usage of their better manual dexterity. You see this in gymnastics, cheerleading stunts, and pairs figure skating. We just have a culture that makes sports that showcase male physical attributes such as upper body strength, speed, and height a priority.
I just hope she doesn't actually have the expectation. Titles like this can be brutal on a kid. No, her chances of making it to the show is less than .00000001%.
She will get nowhere near the majors. Stop filling her head with that nonsense. Nothing against her i'm sure she's a very good player but once the boys her age go through puberty she will no longer be able to keep up.
