Great episode Ryan. Wish Damo and the boys get well soon. Fruiting body mushrooms seem to work well for you. Happy to hear you talk about music with Otis and the influence there at your village. Tile roofs are ideal in Arizona, USA where I grew up. Superb homestead evolving very nicely, the drone shots really give you a sense of it all. You all should be proud of the last ~4 years progress. The "What is this room for" seems quite the challenge for us viewers and Patrons.555 You are creeping me out with the " in the case of my expiring, the kids and Damo can keep going" statement. Always the existential philosopher Ryan, also a humanitarian as many Thai people. Got me stumped on the second room, if you could give me a song lyric as a clue I might guess the answer! Fun to see an update on the building. It's interesting to hear your perspective on the music. When I hear this music, to my untrained and ignorant ear, it sounds effectively the same* as what I would call the Taiwan temple / Taiwan temple parade music that blasts from temples during parades, and special events. So I guess for me it sounds like "religious music." (Im not saying it is the same, just that I perceive it as sounding the same.)

Being a sheetmetal worker by trade the sink would be £1500 / £2000 in the uk. im still amazed at the prices in Thailand. I've just started renting a house in phetchabun for my fiancee, soon to wife on the fourth of July, and I've bought everything almost from lazarda apart from the bedroom furniture for a few thousand £ . My other channel are members, steve, and Pim, where we post more this one i just use for watching. Keep up the good work love the videos 🫰🫶👌👌

I wanna apologize for never commenting but I’m always watching. I can relate to you because my wife is Thai and we spend most of our time in Chaiyaphum that’s where our home is and our village Life is kinda on the same set up as you except we are mix with Thai and Lao culture in our little part of Thailand. my wife and I currently live full-time in the states we won’t be able to live in Thailand full-time until we hit our financial goals. We both have great careers and make good money and hopefully we can retire nicely in our little part of Thailand.

Building in Puerto Rico is one thing. Building in Culebra, the smallest of our islands…is another! Hahahaha which is why I have the little shack…but she has held on for 3 decades, now. I did warp the shack with these huge bungees a German brought to the island after the Hugo hurricane! Happy for you guys, morphed space…family is growing! 🙌🙏🕊💕🌸🌸🌸

That's a great idea for you by protecting your plants and trees without any negative situations effects to it or else your emotions will be affected by letting you feels too sad.

Traditional Thai houses may be wood or bamboo but those styles are rapidly being replaced by the ugly, western-style box

The area beneath the house is used for storage, crafts, lounging in the daytime, and sometimes for livestock such as chickens or ducks.

Hi Ryan, I am curious: Why not just connect the new build with the side of the cottage? You could put a two-door through-way to the other side of the yard, or perhaps, a covered breezeway. Connecting the two builds makes the most sense to me, if I might say so. You would only need to corner it off. Thoughts? Thanks for your time!

Would have opted that you were going for your coffee house. Now got more of a hunch that you are opening a Taxidermy business. Plenty of animals to work upon when they pop off and if the kids pay attention they can attend to you and plod you in the “forever” Daddy corner once you pop off. Started my mushroom journey today.

I enjoyed your explanation of pricing in Thailand and "Mate's Rates" Vs "Farang Prices" and that helps everyone understand the situation well but, in economics terms, it is also related to low-cost airline prices which is called "Dynamic Value Pricing" where the airline has the advantage of all the knowledge from direct customer connections and your ID and all the Facebook data about you and as customers buy flights, they know which flights are popular so they can increase prices to the maximum before the customer finally rejects the purchase. By the way, if you would like free solar power on your new building, I can buy it for you: The Chinese doubled production but the market has not grown as quickly so prices have collapsed - I am not being generous ! If you have any deep insights into why Thai people do not like free electricity from solar power, I would be grateful to know - the economics are fabulous now and payback is only 3 years for a full commercial installation on a simple low metal roof whilst the guarantees on solar panel output production are up to 40 years long which is too long to be relevant because most companies don't survive that long !
