Very helpful! Just removing the buttons as shown at 3:45 and reinstalling them was all that it took for me.

Thank you for the video, Tim! It really helped me! My light stops working every now and then. When I disassemble it the light works again. My best guess is that there is a faulty soldered joint somewhere which is triggered by the light's heat. Apparently, not so far from your case...

It would definitely make sense! My light didn't stop working after I repaired it, so the touch-up might have worked 🤞🏼

I think it was the wire that wasn't making proper contact. The wires of the buttons

My issue was the capacitor was blown. I replaced it and it worked like a charm

thanks for the video, i 'repaired' this light because the light does not turn on all the times. Sprayed some wd40-contactspray on the switches. I only need to remove the ring with the buttons. By the way: this is my second wake-up light, the switches of the older model were very bad. But also this light is malconstructed. Very bad user interface. And the light rolls over by pressing the buttons!

In my case, the light turns off when the alarm goes off. It does turn on in the build up to the alarm, and also when used individually (without the alarm). I opened it up and clean it up a bit with Deoxit, but it still does the same. Any idea which part of the circuitry might be faulty? Or how to go about identifying which part is faulty? Thanks!

@@Scalee I seem to have fixed it. Remains to see if it'll stand the test of time. I cleaned and re-soldered a few parts, but I think what did the trick was identifying and re-soldering one connexion that seemed faulty (not sure what the component is exactly) as shown here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bgavr0jkTII.htmlsi=d-cJdu0The5WzF0z&t=1010 Good luck

Mine randomly starts to make the ticking sound despite me not touching it. Very annoying as it can start doing that out of nowhere. When I move the power connector plug (like rotate it while plugged in) it can turn off. Quite weird. As someone with not much electronics experience I'm rather hesitant to dive into this. Oh Phillips, you could have done better!

You could try and clean the buttons up front, they are rather sensitive to dirt

Same thing happens to mine. Tons of clicking when plugged in and then none of the buttons work

@northridgefield could be that there was some corrosion on the contacts or something. I've had this myself and I'm still using it every day since the creation of this video
