Hiking the 84 miles/ 135 kilometres Hadrian's Wall. We were camping on the way and took 26kg backpacks with us with all the (unnecessary as we've learned) gear with us - initially the weather report suggested it'll rain but ended up in a 28 degree Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) heat wave rolling through Britain.

Loving the views! I did it with airbnbs each night, so much nicer to have a light backpack! 😂 awesome vid!

Nice video, walked it in 2011 (except for the Newcastle bit which I did a couple of years later for completeness). I believe the Tyne is tidal at that point which may have contributed something to the level. Can recommend the Cotswold Way, Ridgeway and South Downs Way (Wicklow way too, for a little further afield)

Thank you for sharing your experience. My husband and I have talked about walking the wall for several years, and we've signed up to do it this June. We will be walking without the backpacks, using a service that will make B&B/Inn reservations and will transfer our bags day to day. We are in our early seventies, and we just cannot imagine hauling heavy backpacks and camping. Old bones need real beds! I would like to know what time of year you walked. I think we would wilt in the kind of heat you experienced. Thanks again for your video. I really enjoyed it.

Alex was correct to walk to the coast, as the Roman Wall fortifications start at Arbeia, a Roman fort at South Shields guarding the estuary, the river was considered more than enough of a barrier until you get to Wallsend, thus it is approx 96 miles to walk.

I’m only up to day 3 of your video but I can’t imagine what state your feet have been in carrying that weight! How did you manage? Nice video 👍

26kg is a killer, mine was 16kg and my mountain leader managed 8kg, he had all the gear too, tent sleeping etc.

I’ve only watched 6 minutes but did I miss the wall?

Nice job, but walkers are specifically told NOT to walk or stand on the Wall. You two had absolutely NO respect for the fragility of this site. Rude.

Stop crying I've seen loads of people walk on the wall and the only rude person is you and your comment
