'I've been playing these types of venues since the early 70's from NJ to Dutch Harbor, AK. Sometimes to a few and sometimes they make you feel like a hero. I still love it. You guys have fun!
Another great video Lee and thank you again for the walk and the smiles on a day that life seems to want to send its struggles whilst nobody seems to be around. I am quite sure I am not the only one like this but I know there are plenty of people here who appreciate all you do to share a brilliant life and that includes me. This is great.🙏🙃
Played there with Eek-a-mouse many moons ago……cool room! I think I was there with Buddy Miles as well but we did several Aspen shows through the years.
👋👋 Hi Amy!!! We remember the video in the snow. Has a sort of Durango not in the snow feel now. Probably the biggest contrast of houses yet. This one looks like a lot of fun for the audience.
My Lord, how the Crew managed to bring the equipment - and especially the piano - in what looks like a small bar in a basement ?!?! Good luck to the mixing Technician !
Thanks for the fab footage of Aspen Mr Sklar ! Compared to other previous venues on the tour , this one is as my old uncle would have said as ' tighter than a brown jockstrap ! He had a way with words ,for every occasion .... Enjoy the show !
Hi Leland! So nice to see Aspen! Very nice Bellyup venue!!! I do like that size….so intimate…kind of a nice change from the huge concert halls….Have so many memories of that area…Used to camp up on the mountain…overlooking the town and the Ski slopes…really a rough 4x4 path up the hill but ,the view at night was amazing… Would set my tent up…or weather permitting,just lay my sleeping bag next to the campfire……the stars and night skiing was like a whole nuther world….I believe now it’s all built up over there….so can’t camp anymore…was my secret little place back in those days…on my way driving from LA to the east coast……. So broke back then…..couldn’t afford to stay in the village…but no problem…. Ha!!! Wow!! 1978?…’79….there was a gate to open to drive up there….never had any problems in those days……saw deer,and all kind of critters up there…..so cool. ❤….but the views at night were fantastic…😊 sending you all many blessings…man that was a long drive from Iowa…..phew!!! Those mountains….Love it up there….🤠🌹🪷🌹🪷🌹🪷💐🌺🌸🖕🖕🖕🖕👍🎶🎵🪬{{{{{{❤️}}}}}}
@@Winston01 Hi Winston I plan to leave Romania about 1st of July, to arrive in Calais on 7th, riding cross country without using highways and toll roads, cuz they are boring 🏍😎
The Belly Up can seat 450 people for all shows unless it is a seated show, then it can seat 325 people. The Belly Up is listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of, "THE BEST CLUBS IN AMERICA" .
I like small venues and even 350 is overgrown for me; I am not profitable model for the live music business. If all working musicians and artists were to be compensated and cared for like good garden, we might all be better served.
I deeply appreciate YOU taking videos of Aspen and great memories. I'm a Colorado boy and I haven't been there in ages, but boy, this brings great memories back to me. Love Aspen and Evergreen and all those wonderful places in. the mountains.😎😎😊😊🤠🤠😃😃💖💖😱😱😰😰😮😮👀👀🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔😏😏🙄🙄😶🌫😶🌫😀😀
Hey! You're back in the gin mill like the old days! Those are some intimate quarters! You should really work out an arrangement with the USPS. You could deliver everyone's mail with your travels. Have a great show!
Thank you for making a video of aspen and the venue. It's so cool to see places in the world that I know i will never get to see in my life time Thank you so much.
Lee, I have to say that it is very cool getting a tour of these historic venues. I being legally-blind would never be able to get around any of these locations. Anymore that is.
Saw TIF doc yesterday at Chinese Theater with Danny & Steve. Loved it! Biggest surprise, Russ played drums on Under the Milky Way (thought The Church was a self-contained band).
From Iowa to Colorado and playin in some barn-saloon? I spent a week there doing the summer things… it’s a very nice/beautiful place, albeit a bit “hoitie-toitie” w/ the monied set slumin around
Watch your oxygen levels and take care of yourself! This place is giving me the vibe of Pappy & Harriet's, original House of Blues on Sunset, and Belly Up in Solana Beach of course.
Just in case anyone wants to know what the static noise is for, it's a pink noise generator that allows for the quick and easy EQ of the room. It's way more accurate and much faster than doing it by ear.
Between the wind, jack hammer and white noise calibrations I’m starting to fully appreciate how stereophonic the 14 is! Looks like a tight room for a large ensemble but I hope you have a great gig.
The venues are so diverse one from another, going from a big theater like yesterday's, to a tiny little intimate room like this one. Thought, I think this is goin to be a lot of fun, just by the proximity of the audience. Hope you had fun tonight. See you tomorrow
Couple things to cover today. First congratulations to Frankie Valli (89) getting married to Jackie Jacobs (60). Second, I thought nothing could top "Tiger King" but if you wait long enough.....well I found it. "The Curious Case of Natalia Grace." it's on the channel that starts with a H then it has a B.....Nothing has freaked me out more since Tiger King.
@Xsidecross My name artemis sidecross is no longer allowed by RU-vid without a ‘space’. I first used sidecross, but was not happy with it; I will now be using Xsidecross, but with an added definition here of its origin. As a first-born American, my maternal grandfather and family came to America a fugitive after being shot in the back and being left for dead. He spoke no English nor could he read or write the language and signed his name with a ‘X’. With the knowledge of Perspective, a Greek Fifth Century B.C. understanding combined with Italian 15th Century Art we developed the ‘one point perspective’ we are familiar with today. With these two notes of fact my grandfather’s signature as ‘X’ while combined with the Modernity of Art, the ‘X’ can now be seen as a primitive ‘cross’ as seen from the side with a concept of modern perspective, or seen as a ‘sidecross’ or more directly now Xsidecross. I am very particular about my name and my first name ‘artemis’ is another story. 😉
I've known(not in person )Amy Keys more than 25 years on Phil Collins stage. I remember how young, slimand pretty she was of course she's very pretty even now. Please say Hi to Amy Keys from a fan. 😊
It would be a life long dream seeing you play in such an intimate setting. It is amusing seeing everyone on their phones. Remember a generation ago before phones? We can barely imagine what people did. 😄
Cool little Memorial park for John Denver just around the corner from there, beautiful place for a stroll if you have time…. The Belly up sure is intimate
Dollars to donuts there is a bullriding mechanism somewhere there. lol Dog gone that Amy Keys sure lights up the room with that beautiful smile. Intimate, nostalgic setting tonight. Be able to feel that crowd energy. What the heck, get boring if it was Grand Ole Opry every night. Temp might be little hotter in close quarters. Didnt encounter the sweet notes driting from the sax warming up with the new silver parts. Maybe he found a spot somewhere. Lee you guys are be boppin across the great land of opportunity, sure dont miss a beat either with your steadfast sharing of todays day in the life of one of if not the greatest bass player still laying it down. Hopefully you guys got a chance to have some good food, some rest. Certainly no moss growing up under you. On the fly all the time. Oh gravity dont you ever rest. lol What are the odds that yor venture will cross paths with Vince Gill along the way? That would be super excellent to the nth degree. Pray for bessings and safe travels for you.
“Could you move your cabinet to the back of the stage further? “What difference would it make“ For more room on the stage” “No, I’m fine😂🤣 ❤ (I paraphrased).
Leland count your lucky stars you're not in the Lone Star State this month. This is the third straight week where it's topped 100 degrees everyday. It's brutal.
Tea and sympathy, I have been following your weather and it is ongoing in many parts of the planet. I have read the power capacity is running full bore, and Texas is a Lone Star with no agreements to share power with other States. ☹
I had thought the ‘Box’ for Box Office referred to a strong box where monies were kept safe. ‘The name box office was used at the Globe Theatre, owned by William Shakespeare, and also in wider Elizabethan theatre. Admission was collected in a tudor money box by a ticket seller at the entrance to the theatre. While the name box office was used in Elizabethan theatre, there is disagreement around whether the term originates from this time.’
COOL Leland just a Lii windy nice place to gig at 55 pounds of you know what in a 5 pound bag man have a great gig an have some holotta fun as always peace out cincy OUT my friend
Lee how are you able to make money in small venues like this? It seems like it would be a total loss financially. Just the overhead involved. My favorite video with you Lee is with James Taylor and J.D. Souther "Her Town Too"!! You had dark hair!! 😉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I9zEHFynDsE.html
HI AMY!!!!!!!!.......You are becoming like BRAD it is not a LEE video unless we see AMY now as well....at least today you were not mid bite at lunch...hahahaha!!!!!
