This is brilliant. We have been meaning to change from Gas hob to induction in our new home and needed to rewire but this makes it possible for us not to and just plug into the current ignition
Bosch confirm power is limited to 3kw with plug on but if you remove the plug and install hardwired into a dedicated hob connection power output is increased to (setting 4 + 4kw) 3.7kw.
So as you use more pans you limit the power per pan as the electronics throttles down the heat per zone. Can’t see how this is an advantage if you use the whole surface, more like a limitation. Unless you just want to simmer four pans on low heat.
My plug in hob has a sticker that says it needs grounding and when I plug it into the mains I hear a beep (I'm hoping you're going to tell me that, that just means there is power going to the hob!)
I bought a Bosch which was supposed to be 13amp and when we had issues their service man turned up and said i installed it wrongly! All i did was plug it in and configured it to 13 amp only. Made no difference to my hob/
i've brought a cooker off Currys and it states its power supply is 13 amp plug, does this mean i can plug it in or does it need to be hard wired ? Thanks
Proper hard wired makes better mechanical/electrical connection then lower electrical resistance in the junction so lower chance to build up heat there.
