The video review of the tracker for 24*550W solar panels was sent by the designer Avars from Latvia. The supporting device is standard SC14, a powerful home-made actuator, both drives work from 24V.
The tracker is controlled by the SONAH DIN controller based on the signals analysis of photometric sensors installed on top of the tracker desktop. The orientating of the solar panels does not occur strictly in the direction of the Sun, but to the position with the maximum irradiation of their surface and, accordingly, the maximum output power. At the same time, not only direct solar radiation from the Sun, but also scattered by the sky is taken into account, as well as their ratio, which changes wide limits (i.g. clean sky in noon - and cloudy day).
The cycle time for automatically adjusting the angles of inclination and rotation of the solar panel is not constant, but changes adaptive depending on the actual light conditions and the current position of the tracker. Reorientation occurs only as needed, when it makes sense: the increase in generation when rotating the panel to a more advantageous position should exceed the cost of reorienting the tracker. Thus, the controller collects maximum solar energy - with minimal costs for moving the drives. The settings for the behavior of the solar tracker (priority "maximum solar energy" or "saving drive life") can be changed.
To protect the tracker from strong winds, an anemometer is installed here. The tracker automatically folds up, “facing” to the zenith when the wind speed is higher than the specified one (for example, more than 8 m/s), and again returns to the “maximum generation point” when the wind speed decreases below the specified one over a long period of time (for example, less than 6 m/s s for 20 min). Thus, even with very gusty winds, with rare but strong gusts, the tracker will be in a folded safe position all the time. All parameters can be changed in the menu.
The SONYAH control unit also has protection of solar panels from snow/hail, protection of tracker drives from exceeding limit switches and protection of electric drives from overload.
