Ray Kennedy was a player who never got the credit he deserved as a player - just look at the superb chipped pass to McDermott for the 4th goal - understated brilliance - he had a superb left foot

Liverpool absolutly excellent team ! Great team and the Reds was dominant from mid 70's to mid 80's in England and in Europe. Kop fantastic yesterday and now...YNWA

Such great all round team in the mid 70s to early 80s. They all contributed and with players like Neal and Kennedy - and even Hansen driving forward, McDermott and Souness chipping in, thy were difficult to keep quiet. Just loved watching them play in those days. Sheer brilliance - even when playing on a mud pile

Look at the empty seats in the kemlyn rd....the city was shocking with unemployment at that time....! I remember being able to sit wherever I wanted most of the time....! F#ck the Tories.....!!!

I was at this game a journey and a half,the car I was travelling in broke down 3 times but it was well worth it. the CSKA game the following year Liverpool won the 1st leg 1-0 the second leg in sofia was a disgrace never mind brucie's mistake the referee was a joke Ian rush scored early on yards over the line the referee ruled it out because he thought it had not.Bob Paisley said after the game it was the worst piece of officiating in his footballing career. The referee's name Franz Wohrer.
