Coastal fan here, you guys did a good job making McCall feel uncomfortable and shutting down our high powered offense, and also good job on perfectly executing that onside kick, you guys deserve this one
From a Coastal fan, App came in with a plan and executed it brilliantly. Adjustments made at halftime for their D were even better. Hats off to App for a well deserved victory. Coastal definitely has a more favorable schedule left ahead of them, so we can still have a great season. Let's hope App get ranked soon for the Sun Belt!
@Barney Weiss I guess you don't remember App State upsetting a top 5 Michigan back when they were still FCS. And they beat North Carolina and South Carolina in the same year a few years ago. Or the fact that Troy has beat Oklahoma State, Missouri, LSU, and Nebraska. Coastal Carolina has beat BYU (basically a Power 5 team, just independent for the moment) and they've beat Kansas 3 years in a row. Louisiana has beat Kansas State and Iowa State South Alabama has beat Miss. State. Arkansas State has beat Texas A&M and Kansas State. Georgia State beat Tennessee two seasons ago. And UL Monroe has beat Wake Forest, Arkansas, and even Alabama before. Not trying to beat you in the brain or anything... But you should rethink what you said there... Especially when a Power 5 team has even lost to an FCS team this year. lol.
@@annebrown8174 It wasn't too long ago that Arkansas State, Troy and Georgia Southern were good programs too. There's a surprising amount of depth in the Sun Belt. They're going to be a very fun conference to watch each weak with Old Dominion, Southern Miss, James Madison and Marshall joining too (3 of them being historically good programs, and Old Dominion having a ton of upside).
No better group of 5 fan base PERIOD. It's actually extremely impressive the football culture they have without being able to qualify for a natty. Hopefully the 12 team playoff will give them even more hope
I think (at least I hope) that the fan base understands that we are gonna continue to be ignored by the CFP committee. Maybe we can hope for a NY6 appearance but that’s it at the moment until playoff expansion occurs. I agree that a 12 team playoff would open things up, but the committee despises G5 to the point that it would still probably have 6 SEC teams in it before they choose their G5. I just hope we continue to win sunbelt championships and raise our national profile slowly but surely.
@@bgrace94 why would you want them in the playoff just to get murdered by Georgia or Alabama. I think the NCAA needs to create 2 separate playoffs, 1 for power 5 and 1 for G5. Call the championships D1-A and D1-B
@@Nihilitty you could ask the same question when there’s a true superpower team in a given season. The 2019 LSU-Oklahoma game was not enjoyable to watch. Even P5s get absolutely stomped in the playoffs sometimes. I think they may go to a tier system like you say, but for now I’d love to see App in the playoff for school pride, visibility and, most importantly, some sweet, sweet cash.
Great to hear that the Sun Belt is expanding. Hoping to get at least a couple more good teams like Marshall or even bring JMU up from the FCS, although I think Southern Miss would be a good fit
@@circycle coastal finally played a team with a winning record and lost. That same team they lost to took a whooping from my guys the week before. I don't think that's a coincidence.
The SBC East is going to be SUCH a great division with rivalries all over. Marshall, App State, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and Georgia State has some chaotic energy with a lot of really passionate fanbases and good programs. If Georgia State and Old Dominion improve to the level they should it'll be even better.
Holy shit, this is a completely different App State team than it was when they played ULL last week. Well deserved win, 'Neers! You deserve it this time!
App State to Coastal Carolina is like Stanford (so far) (or Arizona State/USC) nearly every year for Oregon... One of the three mentioned beat Oregon at least once a year, killing championship drives. App State came first into the FBS and has constantly been the top or near the top since joining. I really wish at least one of them (App State, Coastal Carolina, AND Oregon) could hold for a perfect season one of these days... They'd probably have an FBS championship if they could.
This is true. It is looking like a rematch for App State and Louisiana in the Conference Championship game. But right now it is UL #1, and App State #2 in the SBC.
All the respect in the world to Coastal for giving App State competition in the East, Coastal owned the SBC last year, but it just ain’t App State OR Coastal’s year to own it. Louisiana made a big statement when they beat App State by 28 last week and I think they could even beat Coastal
This Sun Belt has a 3 headed monster in App State, Coastal, and ULL and I think any one of them could win the sun belt on any given year, but this year I feel like it’s ULL’s year

Chase Brice throws way too many passes that requires the receiver to make a Hero effort to catch it, that or passes where he hopes the refs bail him out with PI calls.

Funny: the end of this game is (almost) the same as Miami Dolphins-Jax Jaguars in London last Sunday... Trevor Lawrence's friend and “co-qb” at Clemson won the game the same way, thanks to a kicker, 1 to 3 secs from ending...
I know im a little late on this but every year coastal is WAAAAY overrated. They would get smacked around by the bigger schools if they played them but sureeeee keep throwing them top 25 so they can embarrass themselves when they get to the playoffs
Dude get real. This entire conference is ridiculous. App state lost to a terrible Miami team & they beat the best team in the conference. Cc Being ranked 14th was ridiculous.
