9206 first, then 9220

The 9206 and the 9220 are unique to the skmei watch line up. The 9206 is the first mecha-quartz skmei watch while the 9220 is the first automatic skmei watch with a sun/moon(also works as a 24hr dial) so it would be interesting to see how both of them perform and what the movements inside of them are

My choice would be either the 9206 (quartz chrono) or the 9220 (the automatic one). The 9206 apparently looks like a mechaquartz, but the second hand reset has the typical standard quartz chrono behaviour, so I suspect it is not a mechaquartz - still very interesting from an aesthetic point of view. The 9220 looks quite interesting, but I am curious to see how much automatic watch with complications you can get for that sum (not very much, I'm afraid).

There's a video on AliExpress, which will settle any speculation about the movement on the 1637. I noticed that, as with the 1220, the minute hand advances when the seconds in the LCD window went to 20. The small seconds dial has a mind of its own though, and was somewhere totally different, and I couldn't really see how you bring it into line.

what model are you talking about? 1678? 1678 is single movement quartz watch?

@@GedmisLaguna I decided to buy the 1637 after all, for three reasons. 1 - As mentioned, the digital and analog times are co-ordinated, like the 1370 and 1220. I've seen other video reviews of the 1586 and 1637 and had to look closely, but you can see the minute hand jump ⅓ minute when the seconds counter on the digital readout reaches 00, 20 or 40. 2 - I don't have any watches of this big plastic type. I was put off by the dual movements as much as the sheer size. 3 - DX.com are selling it for £7.51 inc postage (the black one, the others are under £8 too) at the time of writing. Otherwise I would not have been tempted. They don't have the 1586. DX.com have a limited range of SKMEI watches but those they do have are often much cheaper than AliExpress who current want £14.24 after the discount.

Amazingly, a day after I made a comment on one of your other videos, SKMEI sends you a Quartz watch 1678 with fake spinning dials. They could be on the right track here. It would be nice to know how it all works, and how the energy is supplied to spin the dials, and whether the accuracy is affected. I can see a couple of reasons I would not buy this. Some of the fake dials look fixed which messes up the appearance and concept. And the mere existence of "Tachymeter" on a watch puts me off, especially since most of the time it isn't a Tachymeter. Even when it's a true one, I find it ... er ... Tacky (English slang for cheap and nasty looking) and of no practical use. Still, it would be a good review and maybe point SKMEI towards a better implementation of this idea. They could do a homage to a famous automatic "open heart" watch and beat it on accuracy!

I like the concept of analog/digital dual time watch where the times move together. This is the case of the SKMEI 1220 which makes me really glad that I bought it. I don't mind a watch drifting a little, but if it insisted on showing two slightly different times after a few days, it would drive me nuts. So I'd also like to see them reviewed. I wouldn't buy the two shown here, because they are just too big. But I hope they pursue this concept a bit more.

These decorative spinning gears, actually, don't use any energy from the movement. They use only kinetic energy when moving the watch itself. They stop after some time when the watch is left still.
