That's Barry Hearn's vision - to turn this gentlemen's game into Ally-Pally style darts, full of drunk morons shouting out, putting the players off. Unfotunately, audience "participation" is becoming more and more a part of certain sports that perhaps wouldn't otherwise draw a crowd. People just don't have the patience to sit quietly and watch something these days, unless it's a crap movie/TV show on S**tFlix

@@joulupukki1607 it’s one frame of speed snooker literally anyone who’s capable of making a 30 break can win. It’s a great achievement for the young lad and being Welsh under 18’s champ at 14 is fantastic. He will be a good pro for sure but to say he will be world champion is a bit of a stretch

Shootout format is great opportunity for the young players. They can play against the best players and gain courage on the live tv. I don’t understand why some people are against the shootout format. Its good to see new talents playing. Old pals are always around.

Shootout crowds are awful. The Mosconi Cup shows this kind of format can work, but that has a genuine atmosphere. Shootout seems to be filled with people who have fuck all to do on a weekday afternoon trying to one-up each other and play class clown (or cackling witch judging by that one woman). Increasingly embarrassing year on year.

This is so slapstick. Hard to take it seriously really. Needs a rethink. Perhaps a 20 minute frame, Just have one beep at 12 or 15 seconds and same protacol with crowd as with other tornaments and same dress code. Sorry just to hit and miss for me. Pools an OK pub game but I reckon id prefer to watch that.

As a player you can turn up to the tournament, have a bad break-off shot, and be packing your bags to go home 15 minutes later, after having literally played a single shot. You only have to look at the previous winners to see what a lottery it is.

Because each of the 128 players believe they can win it . We will now see some new faces shortly on the circuit , its gives those newbies some experience of playing infromt of camera. Its all exciting stuff and I quite enjoy it but each to thier own.

I hate this format, I dont play on a Friday night or after 2pm at the weekend because of the rabble in the clubs at that time, this is the same I find it hard to comprehend that people can enjoy snooker with this amount of noise, its like watching a chess game with people shouting in the background, why ? why ? why ?.
