Never believe the speedo. My 210 goes off the clock but sat nav says 74mph on a windless day on a flat road. Your t5 never did 98 unless it was in the back of a van

Agree, to ride like that you need many years of experience it's not all about speed.

They were !! In the 60`s I used to race them as with a sidecar , with another person on, at Lydden hill in Kent and could reach speeds of up to 124 mph, I used to put 750 barrel and pistons in them etc etc , I could get any GP 200 Lambretta to do between 104-110mph for the road, In fact at the moment I think you can get a Lambretta to get to 142 mph ? but I don`t know what they do to them now ?? I`ve found a lot of guys say they are a Mechanic, but they just replace the parts, They don`t encourage boring out the barrels, sorting out the Exhaust pipe etc etc, in fact I meet loads of Scooter riders That Know NOTHING ??? Shame on them !!

@@granto6738 looks like somewhere like Bruntingthorpe or similar ex RAF base in Northamptonshire or Cambridgeshire.

Mate, you can find these Lambrettas on RU-vid. One feller put a Suzuki RG500 engine in his, another put a Yamaha LC500YPVS in his. To be fair these have the body widened and there are kits you can buy to do it, or do it yourself. Personally I've decided to put a 500cc single cylinder engine in a Lambretta because it'll fit without widening i.e. it'll look completely standard from the outside. I've got it all worked out in my head, just got to buy an engine when I get back to the UK and then I'll start. And then, let the fun begin.....

I'm living in Mexico and have been for years but this is how I keep my interest in Lambrettas and 2 strokes alive, so that when I get back to the UK in the summer I can make a start on a new project. I dunno where you're based, or if you've got a Lambretta, but you're welcome to ask any question, anytime.
