Where does the bony part of the eustachian tube pierce the skull? Is that opening visible?

passes through the squamous and petrous portions of the temporal bone but narrows gradually to the isthmus, which is the narrowest part of the eustachian tube. It is widest at the tympanic end. Regarding visibility, it is open for discussion
