Wow...Darren was a beast! Going at his opponent quickly over and over again. Looking strong from the start and had the confidence that he could keep taking his opponent down over and over again as he kept letting him up immediately to keep doubling him up on points to increase his advantage before the excellent pin. Super match
This match is an excellent example of a great "Takedown Artist". Darrern McLeod (blue singlet, Red anklet} starts with a Blast Double (leg takedown) 0:16, lets Green escape 0:20 then does a Front Headlock takedown 0:29, goes out of bounds, and shows the referee at 0:35 that he will let Green escape. Red gets a third takedown with another Double Leg takedown 0:45, and lets Green escape again 0:53. Score is now 6 to 3. Out of frustration Green "shoots in" for a Single Leg" takedown, Red counters with a Whizzer (sometimes spelled Whizer, Wizzer, Wizard, etc.) 1:03. The referee calls a Stalemate at 1:16, No points are scored for either wrestler. Red shoots a Single Leg 1:24, comes up with Green's left leg 1:28, and trips Green's right leg 1:29 (tripping is legal in High School and College wrestling) Red holds Green's head onto the mat, traps Green's right leg in between his legs, stacks Green on top of his head, and at 1:37 Green can't get out of this Stack. Once again, excellent wrestling and excellent camera work.
