In this video, I reviewed the Ripper, an electric mountain board released by ecomobl. The Ripper, which I felt, did not only perform well off-road on the mountain. In a way, I think Ripper is the real all-terrain E-board. The product used for the shooting was supported by ecomobl. www.ecomobl.com/ecomobl-skateboard/ 이번비디오에서는 ecomobl에서 출시한 전동마운틴 보드인 Ripper를 리뷰해봤습니다.
So good to see you taking a look at heavy board setup as well as the light ones. I've ridden ones with skateboard trucks and some with the spring suspension ones and I'm glad to see your reviews of the feel of them, as to how different they are. Also, wow, built-in headlights! So much neater. Gaaah, that acceleration sound is cool!
As usual a very pleasant video to watch (and hear ;-) !) Problem with airless wheels on off road condition is you can't put a low pressure in tyres to have better traction and comfort. But you avoid punctures which is a strong benefit. Keep going !
I happen to see the removal of battery pack & the electronics / wires of other Ecomobl boards on their YT channel...Compared to that I guess Ecomobl Ripper might have a cleaner arrangements because of separate battery & ESC boxes :) I kinda like this one :) Awesome & Thanks :)
This might sound crazy, but off-road e-boards would in my opinion do better with less battery. Less battery for short stints of off-roading action. I think a lot of these brands are trying to make a universal board which is cool and I think the general boards out there do that. But this board is definitely aimed more for off-road terrain, so maybe the benefit would be smaller batteries? I mean maybe have an option for smaller batteries. If people need larger batteries get it, but this setup is heavy and the battery box is big. Over all I think this board would be sick. But where I live not many off road options, too rocky.
If the battery is small, the voltage drop occurs quickly. In off-road riding, this can feel like a major flaw. So I think they considered that. Thank you for watching~
off-road boarding really benefits from being able to select your tires to suit the terrain. I wonder if Ecomobl will be successful with this board long term.
Great video! I almost bought this model after I saw your previous EcoMobil video of the M24 Pro. I went with a Trampa Spur Drive 4WD in a 160V dual VESC60 setup. I modeled my build slightly after one of your Trampa builds. Great content! Keep it up! Thanks!
Very high quality video as always! How does the acceleration compare to the meepo hurricane? Also, do you have any plans of reviewing the new Telum models? Possibly the 4wd version?
Great video as always, however I do have a small request, could you mute the wind noise from the gopro when you are going fast(ex. 5:20)? I always have to turn my volume way down when it gets to that part lol. Thanks
Don’t do it save yourself the headache. They don’t do refunds and sold me a defective board. That I had to wait for replacement parts voiding my window to ship it back. I might be taking this company to small claims court that’s how bad my experience is. Besides that hardware on the board is a nightmare, cheap parts, gear cleaning is a pain in the ass. And everyone I’ve talked to who has one it hasn’t lasted longer than a year. On most cases a couple of rides before it breaking down and needing to be fixed.
I own the carbon fiber deck version of this model (Telum) and I am very happy with the performance and durability of the board. My interaction with the Ecomobl's company has been fine. They seem truely interested in feedback. Hopefully minor changes will be made to future products to make them even better.
It's not direct drive, it has planetary gears that give more power than DD. It's more comparable to belt drive. But yeah, those airless tires are a bummer. It's a compromise, so I can understand that.
This board is similar to the spur drive model that Trampa makes. I have the Trampa in 4wd and I am 6’3” and weigh 220lbs. With a similar design to the Trampa models, this Ecomobil Ripper should have no problems with a larger rider.
It's been too long~ Have you been doing okay? HaHa :) This board is not a direct drive, it's a gear drive. And using airless tires, I think it was an inevitable choice to use their iconic planetary gear drive.
I just installed pneumatic tires on the front of my Ecomobl Telum board. That shaved off a total of 4 lbs. A significant weight difference, and now I'm able to catch air off dirt jumps with ease.
