Hi Tim, thanks for spreading the news. I hadn't found the time to translate the video. But that seems redundant now ;) Please give me a ping when the pcb's are in. My quooker broke once more. The microcracks turned out to be unrepairable. Cheers Chris

Kraan met stoom apparaat schoon gemaakt ,dat gaat dus niet ,nu ook storing .Heeft het zin om de kraan uit elkaar te halen en schoon te maken?

Thanks for the instructive video! It's been a big help. After closer inspection, what do you suggest to be the best way to take the ring off? I don't want to break the plastic ring holding it in place.

Yes. You take it of by force and it sounds like you crack the black ring which is keeping it in place. Knowing now how it is retained, how would you suggest to take it off?

@@user-nu2py9ds8i I just had a look at the remnants of my Quooker and there doesn't seem to be any broken plastic ring. I think it was just a bit calcic causing the sound

Thanks a million for checking Tim! I still wonder what keeps the boiling ring in place, to prevent it from popping off under normal circumstances. But if you got it off in one piece, that must be the way to go.

The black plastic ring which keeps the large metal ring in place can be removed by using a scalpel or thin knife at one of the ring ends (it is a splitted ring with approx 1 cm space between its ends). Carefully twist the knife to lift the ring end so that it can be moved free from the body. A pair of fine tweezers may help.@@user-nu2py9ds8i

What is the best solution to use to solve stiffness of the lever? Is it to the completely immerse the dismantled part in cleaning vinegar? Ot use WD40? Glassex? Special fluids of oils?

I think that vinegar will work the best as that'll dissolve the calic

@@TimsElectronicsLab I beleived there's grease or oil inside somewhere as well. Not sure of that's a good combination with vinegar. (And did I mention you're great taking the time explaining how to fix things? However: you're great!)

@SibeJanKramer it cleaned up very well on mine. By the way, you can take the coper insert, which the tap handle screws into, apart to clean it properly. Thanks for your kind response! Much appreciated!

Yes I have, they won't supply another PCB. I've just placed an order for DIY replacement PCBs. I'll create a new video once those arrive

@@TimsElectronicsLab thanks for sharing. Quooker is so unhelpful ! They want me and many others like Me with the same problem to buy a new quooker service is so bad 😡. Looking forward to hearing more about the pcb you ordered. Many quooker owners will love a solution 🎉.
