As promised in our previous video this is a walk through of the basic wiring done to enable starting the engine. We also completed the cooling system installation so we can run the engine for longer and get some initial tuning done.
The objective is to check for and resolve any oil or water leaks before we start painting. We have a few minor leaks 😂
We do another start up and we also have a first look at the new/old stock dynamo.
Please visit our kind sponsors, without them we may never have gotten this far.

🤣 I obviously used “obviously” too frequently! I’ll have to think of a different phrase. 😉

I made a video on those style gages. The quality on the ones we get here in America are hit and miss. The catalogs do not tell you the pressure range they are designed for. I went thru several different kind to get one that would work because the pressure range to the scale of the gage is unknown or they were defective. I think the next time I will stick to a Stewart Warner classic series gages.

Hi Jerry, I agree these are very cheap and cheerful. They provide at best a guide and not much more. I am looking to replace them when I reassemble the tractor after painting. 😉👍

Do you have the fan shroud. It helps the fan pull air thru the radiator. Block the radiator with a piece of cardboard to help get the temperature up while you are testing it.

I was thinking about that too. Sadly I don’t have the fan shroud. That would help a bit I’m sure. 👍😉

I just started my '51' TED20 and it took 3 minutes and 51 seconds before the needle started to move.

Hi Nick, yeah that sounds about right 😉👍. I bet it moved up to about an eighth of the dial and stopped there?

@@WaterhouseFordeHi it went up to around 80 then dropped down to about 70 and stayed there, oil pressure about 60. Cheers
