More fun attempting Harnischfechten with spear and dagger followed by some 50% speed freeplay
We used rubber tips on all our spears from www.capapie.co.uk/
They strike a perfect balance of having enough rigidity while being able to flex and return to shape when pressure is applied.
The plastic limb protection I am using is from HF Armory, there's some debate online as to what purpose plastic armour serves when you can just buy cheap steel, but you will NEVER be able to get anatomically shaped armour like this for the price.
For the sake of this session, both combatants are considered to be wearing plate limbs, and all other armour is 'as worn' when it comes to what it will protect against.
Our fencing masks are stand-ins for open faced bascinets, with the neck portion of the overlay as the aventail, and the lower half of the mesh to be considered open faced and therefore offering no protection. Not perfect by any means but it works well enough and get's us sparring. Enjoy!
