I saved a fat PS3 recently it also had no blu ray drive but i had an old one in my box of bits which just needed a new laser. I added cfw 4.88 and learned how to remarry the drive. I saved it from the scrapheap and it gave me a sense of pride and achievement. I love fixing PS3. Great video as always :) Thankyou for uploading

I don't know how I feel personally about the acrylic window being raised as opposed to being inset but it still looks great!

Very nice. With a little heat on the plastic plexiglass you can bend it to shape it to fit the curve of the ps3. But over all very nice work restoring it.

Did the gap from the acrylic window end up compromising the internal airflow?

No, on the otherside it helps getting cooler however may end a little bit more dusty :)

Always wanted to do an acrylic mod. But doing with standoffs, wouldn't that make it super easy for dust to get it?

como conseguiu instalar o HEN nesse slim sem drive? Conseguiu instalar normalmente? Porque nesse caso, poderia instalar CFW dedicado a console sem drive, mas se funcionou, funcionou

O HEN é instalado via USB :) … ja tinha uma pen preparada de uma outra PS3 k tenho e aproveitei . Instalei e ta feito ;)

@@fabiofontes ah, é que normalmente não recomendam instalar HEN em console com defeito de drive, mas o vídeo foi a prova contrária eu já tinha instalado HEN num ps3 slim de cliente meu que o drive estava com defeito mecânico, mas a placa lógica estava funcionando, aí pensei que isso seria a exceção

I can check if i have it but its simple… What type of leds do you have 5 or 12v ?

I believe I have 12v or would Ik 5v so I can hook it up

@@damionburch832 12v if im not mistaken, you can get directly on the 2 pins that came out from the power supply.. that are on the motherboard...

You should have tried to find a different ps3 top cover, unfortunately Sony has stopped supporting ps3 so no new digital content will be supported by this unit. Also NO Blue-Ray Drive????

The goal here is stay cheap… And with HEN you dont need blueray :)
