@@janver1220 It was a human thing to do. Religion has nothing to do with being a good person. Walker was Irish which means he was probably Christian. Also he didn't invent the match it dates back to 1st century China.
@@janver1220 it was a human thing to do. Same thing when Volvo started to have three-point seatbelt in all their cars. They thought saving life's was more important than making money.
The sandwich was invented on a boat to America. The Earl of Sandwich was playing poker; and, not wanting to leave his seat for dinner, ordered a cabin boy to bring him a piece of meat between two pieces of bread.

I love the way he narrates/explains the discoveries. I get excited whenever I hear the narrator's voice because I knew it would be something worth watching. ❤
It wasn't. Matches were invented in the early 1800s; electricity in the house was not generally avalable until the early 1900s, The first electrically lit house in the UK was Cragside, Northumberland in 1880.
As the recipient of a pacemaker, I found that part very interesting. I have heard a number of these before. I was surprised you didn't include stainless steel, which I was always told was invented by accident, when a metallurgist noticed that a couple of samples he had scrapped didn't rust.
Back in about 1955 I saw an exhibit at the State Fair of Texas. The exhibit consisted of a machine about the same size as a travel trailer, or maybe 20 feet wide and 6 or more feet wide. This machine had a window or door area about the size of a 8 by 8 inch window, with a door, I watched as they baked a biscuit and an egg inside this new microwave.
Hi My Friend, I have seen that you are enjoying Videos on this Channel. I do similar videos (Top 3s) with newer subjects. It would be great if you can take a minute of your time to check it and give me your feedback about it . Thank you very much in Advance.
Well the thing is that:- 1)When scientists make mistakes, they are inventions. 2)When teachers make mistakes, they are new formulas. BUT..... 3)When students make mistakes, they are just mistakes.
Due to carpeltunel i cnt even light matches. So ull never find them in my home. I use a lot of grill lighters. I also dont use teflon pans. Stainless steel is safer n easier to clean
I also dont use post its. I use a small paper pad for everything. Important phone numbers, budgets, n grocery lists r easier to keep track of on a note pad than post its. As for antidepresants, many ppl cn not only live w out them, given to the wrong ppl cn actually cause ppl to show mental illness they wouldnt have w out them. They help w chemical imbalance. Which is what true depression is. But if u dont have a chemical imbalance n take them, it will cause a chemical imbalance. While some ppl may need antidepresants, others should absolutely never take them. I really cnt live w out my microwave though. Since im hypoglcimic. Meat is always made in the oven. But once the meat is cooked most everything i make is finnished off in the microwave to save on cooking time. To ensure i dont pass out from low blood sugar

Wilson was trying to record the heartbeat and wound up inventing the pace-maker. I never would have guessed. My grandmother used her first one in the late 1970's. She lived another 20 years. Mind blowing that this invention was by accident! Great Inspiring Video!
Potato chips were around in England from 1817, according to the book titled "The cook's oracle" By william Kithiner of England in 1817, which contains the recipe.
Our teacher showed us this video on class and me and my friends enjoys most of the interesting inventions! I was happy when she or he showed this video bc I love bright side, the video really made the class way more fun for me!
the 3 inventions that most caught my attention were Coca-Cola, post-it notes and matches.I already knew that Coke was created therapeutically, and at home we actually drink coke when we have either a headache .We use matches a lot , because our stove is not electric , so we have to use matches or lighters .I particularly use post-it notes a lot to organize myself in my studies, if it wasn't for the post-it notes I would be all disorganized.
About the chips it was not many customers but one specific that was sending back the fries over and over to the kitchen because they were not crispy enough, that's why he decided in the end to do the thinest slices as possible ;) thx Mr Crum !
Although these inventions may look like happenstance, they fairly well define the history of inventing, I think. It took Edison hundreds of tries to find a filament that worked properly in light bulbs, I'm told. Human beings are so curious that they'll mix up just about anything to see what happens.
Squishy Mochi Chimchim yup, your name and pic says it all. and come on, if someone mentions serendipity in front of us, its obvious what we would think.
Piyush Kalwar . its name is Serendipity sung by Park Jimin. just search it on youtube. and also try other songs of BTS, the group of Jimin. believe me, you're gonna like it. and I'm pretty sure none of us here is korean. and are you by any chance indian?
There should be a invention class in every school and funds alloted for it which can get hold of lots of new things that can improve our lives in a big way.
I am working on inventing something "accidently" and become famous without planning on it. That would be cool, eh? Anyways, I make creepy videos on true stories if it interests anyone here, ciao ;)
Actually the first man made plastic was Parkesine invented by Alexander Parkes in 1862. It was not very satisfactory but John and Isaiah Hyatt acquired the patent and developed an improved version that was called celluloid in the 1870-1872 time frame. Leo Baekeland didn't invent bakelite until 1907, quite a few years later. Incidentally, bakelite is a thermosetting material, but when the video is discussing bakelite the picture shown is of a thermoplastic material. Just one of many errors in this video.
The invention that I liked the most was a vulcanized rubber, as it was accidentally made by mixing rubber, sulfur and thrown on a hot surface, and so, vulcanized rubber emerged, now, in our daily lives, we can no longer take it off of our life, being present in: car tires, safety gloves, military boots, basketballs, and much more, from sports, recipes, toys to military and security things - Raul Presente from Agro 1 of IFSP, um hello for teacher allan

Weather stations are a good invention. I have 4 weather station clocks in my house lol. You can tell from that and from certain videos I have made that I am a weather person :P :P
Actually, some guy went into the restaurant and ordered fries. He said they were too soggy and kept sending them back. Then George Crum lost it and cut em paper thin and the man actually liked them. There were no multiple complaints from customers, only one.
"Crum"was a nickname his last is "Speck" Vanderbilt may have given him the nickname. Most likely it was his sister the accidentally dropped a thin slice of potatoe in the oil. There were published recipes for chips earlier though. He and his sister both identified as being part of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. Interesting guy worth reading about.
The way I heard it, a woman was eating an ice cream sandwich while trying to carry flowers. She took one cookie, wrapped it around the flowers as an impromptu vase, and wrapped the other cookie around the ice cream.
So the first microwave was some dude's pocket. At the same time creating the first hot pocket. And the two still go great together after all these years.
@@KJChambersOfficial Then u might not be a chemistry student I suppose :P maybe you studied physics or bio or maybe just physical chemistry C'mon teflon is a common thing in chemistry, comes under organic part.. polymers..
Leo Baekeland produced a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin, which we know as bakelite. The substances we generally know as plastic are those which soften when heated.
bakelite and similar 'hard' non flexible thermoset materials are still classed as 'plastics' , though... but yes not strictly 'plastic' in the sense of 'flexible' except when being manufactured, moulded into final shape
