Can't believe the low prices you paid for some of those key books! I think many of those sellers were rather asleep at the wheel and you took great advantage! I am amazed at the low prices and values on some of those Silver Age Green Lanterns!
To be perfectly honest, I'm quite envious of your knowledge of all these keys and issues to look out for. I'm still so overwhelmed with the massive pools of Marvel and DC 😱 your videos help certainly help point me in the right directions 😎👌

Thanks for all the effort you put into making this video! I just started seriously collecting comics a few months ago (but have a sprawling baseball card collection and some coins and currency), so any knowledge I can get from watching videos is great. Baseball card collecting has gotten a bit crazy with prices and very crowded, which is one of the reasons why I'm into comics now. I recently scored a 1991 X-Men #1 variant with Magneto on the cover in a dollar box and I'm starting a high quality early 1987 Superman run because those are the first comics I ever bought at the local drugstore back when comics were only $1 or less.
I'm now that guy buying comics when I was too broke as a kid to afford many. Loving these books once more. I'm mostly into the newer stuff or 90's X-Men. o7
I really enjoyed the show I hope you do it again month by month and just add them all together. Very informant. very entertaining. It was fun to watch you have a good time. thank you for sharing.
I'm loving DC comics too because of characters such as Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, Hush and some other I saw on DC animated movies and others. Hopefully when the pandemic ends, all of us will get to see comics in antique stores, thrift shops and other places. Subscribed too.
Good to know! I was a bit worried the vid would be too long for people so I cut as much as I possibly could and It's STILL 40 mins after all that! hahaha
Me and john bust our butts to make sure the shop is very competitive with online markets and try to also be fair with our grading. Thanks for the positive feedback on the shop from :mike from comic universe. I literally just missed you by a day. I'm usually in on Mondays giving john a hand
@@MintHunterComics because of you and these videos imma definitely hit up my local flea markets and antique shops. Hopefully I find some gems like you did and also you have a new subscriber! 👍🏾
Great video! As a Silver Age Green Lantern collector you are fast becoming my favourite comic-tuber. While the whole comic spec world is distracted by Marvel, now is a great time to be picking up those slept-on DC Silver Age keys.
Great finds and information.... just subbed ... some great keys the shops had but like how u didn't go to heavy and spent the money carefully... thank for sharing yeeeaghhh Boii👍💯👌
Awesome finds! I sold a 5500+ collection over 7 years ago as my son had zero interest in it. I just started collecting last year but only for artists and for reading! And yes, I try not to think about the all those single issues I used to have and now see at ridiculous prices!
Awesome! The comic book shop! In de is my lcs! Got comics in my pull box right now waiting for tomorow. I love them. Their pup often meets me at my car. Have many good stories over the years there. And between books one was where i played pokemon in the 90s. Loved seeing you in my hood.
Scarecrow is one of my absolute favourite Batman Villains second only to Mr. Freeze. That cover is just so iconic and makes Scarecrow so intimidating. Also I had no idea Simon Baz first appeared in Trinity War damn.
So many cool books! Haven't gotten anything recently, but I did get Special Marvel Edition 15 a few years ago for $7 in Fine condition at an antique shop. The hunt is what makes this such a great hobby. Love your videos!
I'm guessing that shop thay had silver age Aquaman obtained them just before the film was released. Used to have some of those books you got. Didn't go for anywhere near what you specing them at. Oh well. It is what it is. Great vid.
Cool video! And I live in the Philly area, so a number of these stores are close. Until last week, I hadn't been in a comic book shop since I moved to this area more than a decade ago. During that time, I also hadn't touched my collection, which was in a storage area in the basement of my building. But in April, I carried all of the boxes up to my apartment and began cataloguing every issue. Then when I eventually went to a local shop to get bags, boards, etc., I ended up buying a number of variants and have been making multiple trips since. I've been meaning to visit Comic Universe, which is close to where I live. I've driven by The Comic Book Shop on Marsh Road many, many times but have never stopped. Will have to make trip down there soon. Great finds, by the way. You hit the Green Lantern lottery.
The green lantern lottery is right haha! And wow there's some great shops in Phill! Glad you've come to find em! I'm not much of variant guy anymore but that's dope!
This is the first video of yours that I’ve stumbled across and it seems like you live near me because these are all shops I’ve been to. The Brave New Worlds in Willow Grove in my main shop. Maybe I’ll catch you around sometime.
Great finds!! Enjoyed riding along with you to the shops. This vid made me happy. I found 80% of these issues NM for a dollar in different places. What's funny I won and auction for the same GL silver age issues in 8.0s for about $20 a piece. I don't really care to submit books but I did just submit my 2nd book because my LCS gives their discount with free shipping. It is first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in comics.
Just FYI, the New Mutants Graphic Novel isn't a magazine. It may be a similar size but that's the only similarity. Marvel Graphic Novels were squarebound books with higher price tags than magazines and were only distributed in comic shops and selected bookstores (not on newsstand racks like magazines) and had cardboard stock covers and high-quality thick pages rather than the paper covers and cheap (often newsprint) pages of magazines.
For a one month haul, you did amazing. I would love to have found some of those deals or even own a couple of them books. Can’t wait to hear what grades you get
Pretty cool to see my LCS in the video, I am going to have to check out some of the others you visited. Glad you found some great deals in your travels.
@@MintHunterComics The Comic Book Store in Glassboro is my LCS, I agree the wall books can be a bit pricy but they have some wiggle room and the staff is really friendly. I also grew up going to Stormwatch Comics when I was in Jr./Sr. high school. I need to get over the bridge soon and check out some of the PA stores. Also, hoping the cons return soon.
Loving these videos! Was so good to see Stormwatch Comics. That was my LCS for decades before I moved away 2 years ago. Bob, the owner, really is the nicest guy ever! My other favorite shops in the philly area that you should check out if you haven't already: Wade's Comic Madness in Levittown, PA Frankenstein Comics in Woodbury, NJ Garden of Earthly Delights in NE Philly (When overstocked, they do BYO Short Box and you can fill it with dollar books for $40) Heroes in Burlington, NJ Happy Hunting!
Mint-Hunter Comics. I had a comic book hull 2 weeks ago at a Yard sale were I bought a long box of comics for $30. Turns out all valuable comics came up to $75-$80 total.
WOW...fantastic finds. I could only dream of a haul like that. You must have a photographic memory for covers to be be able to score like that. Oh by the way...SLAB THE SCARECROW. 😆
You visited so many shops I’ve been to lol this was cool to watch. And great books you picked up! I say submit that scarecrow appearance, it should be worth it
Oh wow James! I know I'm catching this video a year after you posted but I didn't realize you were in my area. The first shop you went to Comics Lair in Trenton NJ is right down the street from where I grew up and is one of the shops I used to hit up. So cool man. Not sure of the timeline but unfortunately the owner of that store had to close for a while because his wife passed away from the virus. I was saddened to read this on a Google review after some joker was complaining that the store didn't have consistent hours.
I wish I had this many comics book stores in my close area. I only have about 3 in the Austin area. But last week I went to 7 stores in San Antonio, but still spent the most in Austin, on the way back.
Sometimes they're space and then BAM something good comes in! LCSs are having a hard time because people aren't selling their collections to them anymore
Power Girl and the many Green Lanterns are great finds. Mongul, Black Manta and Doctor Polaris are solid villains. First Silver Age Scarecrow has a really high value! Yeah Guy as Warrior, Kyle Rayner and Sodam Yat! First Hardware for a dollar is a good deal. Oh nice, 1st Simon Baz! As for me I bought a comic lot mainly consisting of DC Rebirth number 1s.
I’m good friends with a bunch of the stores you went too, great video! Next time your in the area (South Jersey) hit up Panther Comics, it’s a shop I work at and tons of books you’ll be looking for!
You got some great books!!! The Comic Book Shop in Wilmington is a cool shop, also had Dave Michelinie there for a signing....got a bunch of my stuff signed by him, needless to say. Might have to check out a few of the other stores, although I hate driving into Philly (that's why I stick to the Brave New Worlds out by me....even though it's a smaller shop) and trying to find parking and stuff down there. Always picking up books, although not nearly as many keys (or as in good a shape for some of them) as you, but it's fun to watch what others are getting.
Dude the first app of scarecrow at a antique shop...jaw dropping 😳 absolute 🔥 Alot of the places you went to in PA are near me. Brave New World is one of the nicest shops I've been to. Do you have any recommendations around the Lancaster, Reading, Berks County area for good comicbook shops? Thanks!
Videos like this...makes me want to go on holiday in the US comic book hunting. I was wondering about notes to CGC? Is there a (non-toxic) forum or website that has gathered all the notes submitters think should be added; like you do on your books? Maybe that's a future video, where you show all yours, the ones that went through, and those that were ignored.
Hahaha come on over! And so the notes that you find on "key collector" are often the best indicator I find of the TRUE notes towards a comic. Slap a post it notes on your comic when submitting to CGC for them to consider adjusting the notes to insure they read that!
Hey, James! I love your videos! I started collecting back in late 2020 with Spawn. In fact, issue one was my first ever Spawn comic. I’m probably going to pick up another one when I get the chance so I can submit it out and make the big bucks!
