When Shortening the jib length the sections come in out of sinc. Sections 3 and 4 should come in together at the same rate then section 2 then section 1. This doesn’t happen on this crane so if the stick is out and you want to shorten it use the manual override, push down the 3rd button for sections 3/4 and pull in the tele joystick. You will see the % jib length change on the screen. On other models/cranes you shouldn’t have to use the manual switch to do this.
If you don’t want to manually adjust the length as described in the video you will have to tele it all in again then tele out to the required jib length.
Bring the sections right in at the end of the day so that they go out in sinc the next morning.
Min jib length 10.4m
Max jib length is 40.3m
Maximum radius is 36m at 40.3m jib
Minimum radius is 7m at 40.3m to 36.5m jib length
DERIGGING FOR ROAD TRAVEL
It is unlikely that you will be on the road in the next 3 weeks but just in case:
When onsite leave the block free and the rigger shoes as they are, but if the crane is going offsite you need to stow the hook block and the 4 rigger feet/shoes.
When folding up the crane and if stowing the block on the wire at the front of the cab jib length 10.4m, jib down to a radius of 7.6m and lower the block down in the front of the cab. Stow the block on the wire, keep a bit of strain and come down on the jib just observing the rubber hose, the movement at the dead end of the rope and finally the rope strain on top of the jib.
Make sure the jib is properly seated in the correct cradle position. Once down switch off ignition, lock the cab door and go down to the bottom cab,
Turn on the flashing beacons, switch over to bottom cab, turn off the pto, switch on the green outrigger Rev button, go out and take in the outriggers. Make sure to put outrigger buttons in neutral and lower the revs again, stow the outrigger feet properly and pin the retracted outriggers.
Raise the suspension in the cab
Using the 4 toggle switches next to the suspension lock/control button, then unlock the suspension lock/control button.
DRIVING ON THE ROAD
You are now ready to drive.
NOTE: When driving on the road and you come to a halt, use the handbrake to stop rolling back. when driving on again, put the selector to drive, touch the throttle then release handbrake. If sat at a junction for a brief time keep in D with handbrake on, foot off the throttle. When lights change, touch the throttle and release handbrake, crane will not roll back. If on a hill start click the gear stick towards you and the gear will change from 3 to 2 then 1. Once moving manually put the gear stick up to 3 again. Then the automatic gearbox will take over again.
For manual operation the display will have no lines next to the gear on the display this is achieved by flicking the gear selector to the left. To get it back to automatic flick it left again and the lines will appear next to the selected gear on the display.
If the crane does not go above gear 3 and is in automatic mode ie there are lines next to the displayed gear 3, make sure the crane suspension is raised for road travel, make sure the second steering axle is locked. This is achieved by moving the toggle switch next to the door and to the left of the steering wheel. When you start up the crane steering self diagnoses and a yellow warning light flashes and then goes out, this is on the top left hand side of the dashboard. Give the steering time to self diagnose and the air pressures to come above 8 bar. If it stays on flashing it means the 2nd axle is misaligned and to press the toggle switch at the left of the steering wheel till the axle locks into place.
For a full explanation of the gearbox and steering system look in the big blue folder in the drivers cab.
There’s a 2nd axle unlock button and 3 different modes of onsite steering. I’ll try and put a video up on these also.
