Summary: - train more and focus on quality!!! - don't think you know everything - play for the team.. lower your ego! - care about stretching / warm up - don't speak that much and focus on what's important - watch the best players and learn from them - don't only practice when you feel like it but train regularly instead! - dont train 50% and expect 100% performance in game - don't think bad about your team mates and don't look down on them.. - after the game is before the game! Try to find your mistakes - Don't drink and party every weekend! Partys (drinking and going to bed late) is killing your performance - Be honest about your weknesses and work to improve them - go to the gym and train your body.. don't think you don't need muscle training! - think strategically! - pay attention to your body! Don't ignore paint -- even small pain!! - stay focused!!

In the end we have to remember: Like everything else in this world volleyball is (not only) BUT ALSO a matter of talent! If someone is not born or at least raised early in a way to develop the set of abilitys that are needed to learn and play volleyball beyond average, then I believe in most of all cases and no matter how much he loves the sport -- no kind of training and no amount of training can make him a really good player that plays much above average because it will be much more demanding or even impossible. Another factor is that when entering the mid twentys or so most people simply don't really have the time anymore that would be required to catch up. It is also a matter of physique.. Noone can expect to become better than average if he or she didn't play any sport ever or for a long time or simply isn't born with a powerful physique. It if a difference if someone did sports from the age of 10 or starting in the 30s or 40s...

Thank you for all of your videos, but this one was super helpful, in particular the watch the pros tip. Watching the games thinking about where they chose to attack for example really stepped up my game.

You need to work a lot alone😀 I did the same, every day do something extra (gym, wall training, plyo, swim, massage,…) and you will see your progress👍

Sport IQ is a mix of intuition and experience, intuition is talent, experience is 100% gained on the field. Analyze the great players corresponding to your role, everytime they do something ask yourself "why?" and try to answer your question. You'll get it wrong plenty of times if you're inexperienced, but making mistakes is easily the best way to grow your court IQ. Once it clicks you're gonna be able to do the same in game by muscle memory, without overthinking.
@cirrus2013
@cirrus2013 5 месяцев назад
@@fl8vo Just playing isn't the answer -- expecially in amateur levels where it is mostly about fun and less a concentrated process of awareness and tought. To develop that IQ one needs to become aware of all the things going on and also become CREATIVE about solving these things first in their tought, their technique and finally in game. I believe it is a matter of year long FOCUSED training on all kinds of situations and the ability to quickly transfer these experiences / learnings into action in game.

I'm 34 and playing at amatur level and I am another kind of talk-too-much: in every play I argue that I make some mistake, like steping with wrong foot first, should be lower, saved with improper hand form
