But at high speeds a motorcycle turns in the opposite direction to where the handlebar is turned to. This is called countersteering. It sounds counter intuitive but you push the left end of the handle bar forward to go left and you push the right end to go right. If you don't understand what i'm saying you can try it out yourself in safe environment. Find an open place like a ground or a straight open road without traffic, go at a speed above 40kmph, make sure there's no vehicles behind you and without using your body to lean the bike simply turn the handle bar slightly to the left or right. You will see that the bike will go in the opposite direction. Being aware of this behaviour of motorcycles is crucial in avoiding accidents. Two wheelers turn normally ie in the direction of the handle bars only at very low speeds.

One point that I would like to add is if you are staying first in row before a red signal. Never give full throttle when the green light starts. Some fellow coming perpendicular might be giving full throttle when he sees the orange sign to skip the red signal. So better to wait a second after green signal starts and then take off.
Tip: If you are overtaking in a three lane road, never cross from lane 1 to lane 3 directly. First come the center make sure everything is okay from behind through mirror and everything is okay in the front and then overtake.

Also always useful for beginners no matter whether they have abs or their abs is faculty and not working properly , is to get as much practice in having sudden emergency braking in completely unoccupied and free roads so that when the time comes and you actually have to perform a sudden emergency braking to avoid an accident you don't slip and cause accident to yourself and/or others .
Another tip I found useful: Learn how to visualize driving line or racing line. If you can picture where and what position your bike/car will be in 50-100m ahead, you'll be prepared for most situations and can predict what will happen.
1.Eyes on road and anticipate moves of others. This will avoid main direct accidents. 2. once you wanted to turn your vehicle(right or left), dont do in hurry.Give sufficient time for the ones behind your back for applying break. Turn your indicators. 3. Most importantly ride with respect , road is no place to show your ego or power of your engine. 4. Give sides to ones who wanted to overtake and dont intimidate.. I rode cars and bikes for close to 18 years, not accident so far.

Njn hospitalil aanu work chyyunnath,I think most of the high speed collision victims die instantly,the cases that do reach the hospitals(in icu)are low speed one rider accidents where the rider slipped and fell hitting his head on the road while not wearing a helmet.Wear a helmet no matter how slow you are going to ride.
Another #Tip for those who always use hazard flashers ,use your flashers when you are on the side of the road. Pls don't use your flashers when you are driving at the same speed as most other traffic.
Also, don't tailgate someone who is overtaking another vehicle. There might be other vehicles coming in the opposite direction, and the vehicle you are tailgating might go through, but you might collide with one coming from the opposite direction.
Very good tips. I would like to add another tip from Shumi which I always remember when riding. If you’re late to some place rush to your vehicle and rush from your vehicle. But never rush in your vehicle.
Im from tamilnadu,.. whenever i travel in kerala, i notice that people dont change lanes with indicators they simply turn as per their wish and they ll drive slowly in fast lanes. In Tamilnadu also its there but its not as much as in Kerala. I dont knw why, maybe because they are new to these 4 lanes but most of the times this is leading to risk.
