Hi guys! Today, I'm going to show you that you can make 8 pieces of whole fish in only 15 minutes! Think descaling, gutting, cleaning, and packing with incredible flavour in just 15 minutes! We're going to oven bake 8 whole sardines.

Bart, you're so right in your opinion in not overpowering the fish with other flavours: let the natural taste of the fish prevail! Even when I cook salmon or kabeljouw I also put just a tiny little bit of salt, pepper and olive oil: not too much, just a little bit to bring out the natural taste of the fish. A small sprinkle of fresh herbs like thyme or dill won't hurt either, but not too much!

LOOKS GREAT U MADE ME SOOO HUNGER :) SARDINES: 15 best recipes The cleanest and most sustainable fish Of all the fish sardines is the purest. At the bottom of the food chain, it is fed exclusively with plankton, grows in a natural habitat, small in size and short life span, absorbs very small amounts of mercury, pesticides and chemicals from the sea. Srdela also meets the ecological sustainability requirement: feeding on sardines does not encourage the pollution of nature and does not destroy natural resources. 1. Roasted sardines Marinized sardines - plain and spicy version 3. Srdele na ržnju 4. Srdele na roštilju - plain and polučene 5. Used sardines 6. Sicilian carpaccio of sardines 7. Survived sardines - with shrimps or with salted sardines 8. Italian salad of bread and tomato with sardines 9. Sesame pâté 10. Butter with sardines 11. Refreshing bruschette with roasted sardines and berries 12. Greek salad with sardines 13. Sicilian pasta with sardines and grasshopper 14. Sardines with eggs from the oven 15. Spanish peppers with peppers in pepper sauce Bones ?? You don't even know they're left in - and they're just as important nutritionally speaking as the fats and protein in sardines.

I haven't had good fresh sardines since I was in Europe 30 years ago. They are so good but hard to find where I am at...if at all. Always do head on for any baked fish even if you are squeamish you will get used to it and the flavor is much better. These look really good....thanks Bart :)

The bones in sardine cans are quite soft and not a danger to swallow. They're quite healthy as well!

Too much salt and olive oil. Not necessary. The chilis are pretty but probably kill the natural taste of the fish.

Is the head eaten? Think that means gills are also still in. I've always removed head behind the gills but will love if I don't have to remove heads, more food!

Often have tinned fish for lunch usually sardines or mackerel, but these look well worth the little bit of effort for that fresh taste for a change, Thank you Bart.

Looks great visually. Too bad the flavor is not getting into the fish consistently. How about you blend all that and rub it in, so it actually penetrates every inch?

To sorry to say, the sardines don't look fresh to me. Fresh fish don't break skin when you take out their guts.

Hey Bart! It would be great if you made a video on how to eat a whole fish. The other day they served me a whole one and had a hard time trying to get the spines out an not making a mess on my plate!

The fish should be soft so you can just take it with your fork and knife from the fish.if you found any bones in your mouth just make a little pile of bones in your plate,just spit it out

When I was younger I actually at sardines out of a can with my Dad, but not today. lol Now those are really sardines cooked to perfection. I love how you appreciate and respect your food so much Bart! Tyvm for sharing! Tc :))

I'm from Casablanca, Morocco but I live in Canada. The secret of sardines you don't need to wash it, is better from the sea to the oven street you can put only salt in the top extra salt then clean when you are eating and don't eat the skin and estomac and that stuff and you are eating you can add little bit lemon and enjoy it with a cup of Moroccan tea or orange juice 😊👌

Take salt, little bit turmeric powder, black pepper, spoon of lemon juice, lastly add some coconut oil, mix these all gently and cook... its awsm

I just made sardines. I used your descaling technique. So much faster than trying to do it with my fingers. I didn't add any salt or pepper. I find sardine salty enough. Pepper might have been good but it's just so tasty as it is.

Have you ever tried a dish called Sprat? It's from Jamaica. One of the best fish dishes I've ever had, very similar to this. Another great video!

+Bart's Fish Tales Sprat is just the type of fish, similar to the Sardines that you have here. It's deep fried, seasoned with salt, pepper and vinegar and dress with spicy pickled onions and carrots.

Awesome recipe to cook Sardines indoors. As a Portuguese born, sardines are traditional and most popular fish on the table. Usually, we cook sardines on a charbroil grill. Just a simple zip of salt. That's it. Obviously, this must be made outside (at the same time avoid odors in house) and additionally you must buy some good quality coal. Add sardines on a slice of homemade Portuguese cornbread accompanied with a salad of red and green roasted peppers with onions, olive oil, white vinegar and you have a simple and authentic Mediterranean meal. Don't forget the red wine. Could be Cabernet Sauvignon or Touriga Nacional. 5stars. Enjoy!

@@Bartsfishtales Ya, that's one way for sure to use it, I would not throw it out at least anymore. But how come you can eat bones of those Canned Sardins? Do you know of any Canned Sardins which has the Head intact? :) I'm thinking if the bones are eatable in the canned foods, the head should also be and they might be healthy.
