My 110 th. For you a daily work/fun experience and for me my half hour me time. Thanks for sharing, it's a fun looking technique. Let your star bring happiness and joy 😂😂 wim
Quite lovely Diane. I love how you achieve the rustic star design. All appreciation to the Star of Bethlehem. I truly adore this card. I also use Kuretake 48's. Quality speaks with these. Your tender heart has just made one piggy and some chickens very grateful. Bravo! ❤🙏🇨🇦🌹
What an intriguing technique! Good news indeed about the pig. That's great that your prompting got the neighbour to come up with a better house for his animals!
Thank you for intervening the piggy and chicken issue. They would be ever grateful. I wondered why you were putting all the layers of paint on your star. A wonderful result! Will definitely try this one out, along with all the others you are painting for Christmas. I’m hooked! ❤❤❤❤
So nice that your kindness and intervention helped to make the piggy and chickens cuddly and warm for winter. There should be more caring people like you in this world. ❤ Love the star of many layers.
💕👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌝. Stars have always been a nightmare. Now I have away to feel more confident. Thank you. Will definitely try the techniques you used with the paints.
I'm so happy about the outcome of that little piggy, I'm all teary eyed! Thank you, Diane, for such due diligence, caring and compassion for the animal kingdom. Love the painting, such cool techniques and variety. Tfs :D
I got interested in wc about 3 years ago and fell in love with loose florals style painting that was going around and looked easy for me. I'm barely past leaves/petals due to painful arthritis in my shoulders and hands. I can only manage small pics and have to hold it close to my chest (you'd have to see it to understand) About 6 months or so ago I came across Tammy who does a lot of these florals and they are for beginners, and she is very clear about everything that's going on, same as you. She is my #2 go to artist. I watch others....Jenna Rainy, Christy Rice, Shana Circe, Julia Lis, Ellen Crimi Trent etc. I watch every single one of your vids.....you are my #1 go to artist but I admit to not trying any of your tuts yet that involve rabbits, buildings etc. I'm 75 and hope to one day manage one of those darling birds of yours. Day before yesterday I received my paintbrush box from you and was and still am stunned at the beauty, quality, size and on and on. I'm going to do a nice review with pics on your FB and hope it encourages others to order a set. I'm waiting for the 'Meeden' paper you used (I have mostly cheap paper...budget wants to run my life, one small 'Arches' but no hot pressed....only really know about it because of you!) so I can at least try those beautiful bauble ornaments you made. I want to start that project with what you used as a gauge and the same paints of course. I have 1 student smith/newton, the Kuretake 36 colors and the art nouveax (sp?), and of course the the 24 tubes of Meeden paint you suggested. A few brushes from Princeton and Emma Lafabvres (sp? lol) snap brushes and now yours....I don't need any more stuff now lol, just samplings to play with. Thank you and hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'll be trying to get geared up for the Christmas hoopla LOL
Hi Kathy and sorry for not replying sooner, my computer hides replies and I have to go searching for them! It sounds like you’ve got plenty of materials to paint with, I don’t use most of what I have, focussing on the Kuretake colors these days because they are easier to use in my humble opinion! Please have a go at a bird, you’ll be surprised how easy they are and who cares if it doesn’t turn out right first time !! Just have fun xxx
I finally got my brushes ordered! I can’t wait, hoping they will be here for Christmas. Good for you for looking out for the neighbourhood critters...I love happily-ever-after outcomes!
Love the way you made the star! I’d rather know how to make it on my own rather than have you put up a pattern. And great news about the pig! Way to go to help your neighbor become a responsible pet owner! Beautiful star and story!
I love the way you show the pre-paint work up. It helps to understand the pre-work that goes in before the video! It's important to design your cards before the final result.
Such a lovely star, Diane!! And, of course, great news regarding little piglet and the chickens…good job!! Also, I received my brushes today!! So excited!! They were so well packaged and the poppy print is absolutely gorgeous!❤️❤️❤️. Happy Thanksgiving g to you and your family!!
I have always loved reading books and one of my favorite for young children are ones which feature animals and the Star. I just bought one large picture book for my youngest niece which has all the animals you mentioned. Of course I can never save them for Christmas gifts! Blessings
Fab news about Mr Pig n the chickens, Diane 👍👏👏👏 And this star is delicious! I love the "rusticity" of it too! (Great new word!) I've used up all my blank card stock by now, doing your designs, my daughter's ones and a few baubles n Christmas trees of my own BUT now ive seen this - I'll have to do a couple of these too so will use some sheets of 7 X 5 watercolour paper! Hoorah!! Am loving making cards this year. And after two months of doing them, am almost up to 40. Anyway, I'm blathering now so Thank you very, very much, Diane for another fantastic tutorial. You are Wonderful for intervening with the the Mr Pig 🐷 situation!! Love, Mel xx 🍰🌻
I have always wondered how to make a star like that. Never could get the shape right. Thanks so much! Happy for the pig and chickens. Wish we could do more for our homeless. Prayers.
I love the happy ending to the story of Piggie! And I’m hoping for early Christmas $$ because this star painting has sold me on your cat’s tongue brush!!!
The layering is so effective. Thanks for showing us this technique. Star of Wonder crossed my mind as layer upon layer accumulated. And happy for he piggy and chickens. ❤

Sooo happy to hear about the pig! And chickens too! Went to see them on your FB page. I got my brushes! My first professional ones. So excited. Having so much fun painting all the cards. Thank You!!!
Well! That was fun, on this day before our Thanksgiving! I don’t want to clean, just play! I am still trying to work with the bulbs, so this must wait u til I have that so it’s decent. I want a;; the mugs, but I need a bigger 12 oz. I know, Americans…..
What a cool technique! I'll try this today. Thank you Diane, I've painted several cards using the instructions you've provided this month. Good news about the pig and chickens too. Sandy N Carolina USA
This technique is amazing! I have never seen it used before with watercolour. It could be used anywhere you want some added texture, fields, buildings etc. So glad the piglet is safe now. Thanks Diane.
So wonderful to hear back from you with the zillions of demand on your time and energy! I don’t know how you do it. I do have news! My gallery showing at the Academy of Music and Art, a man cami to it and bought 14….yes…14 of my Sarah Series paintings! They are to in his daughter’s rooms in Las Vegas, Nevada! See what you started? It makes my heart happy to know where they will hang and make them smile a bit. Now I have to paint new adventure for her to fill the empty spots! Take care of yourself my dear. Sending love as always.CXXIXX❤️😆❤️
OMG that’s fantastic Posie! Isn’t it great to have a big fan like that! And LAS VEGAS - wow!! What a bedroom that must be to be able to accommodate 14 paintings!!!!!!!!! I remember when I lived in Bermuda I had a fan who used to buy all the paintings I put up in exhibitions, until his wife put her foot down and said they had no more room for paintings!
@@DianeAntoneStudio yes….quite a shock! The subject matter so specialized, I really didn’t expect too sell those! I learned today.that 5 more sold, florals, etc. sooooo except for property taxes, I’m going to treat myself to a set of tigers and also sword brushes! I’ve already bought your set. Can’t wait to receive them! I love you dear friend!XXXXX❤️❤️❤️
Hi Diane Hello from Australia I Have been enjoying your wonderful tutorials and company for over 8 months now. I ordered your brushes from Craftamo on day of release - very surprised that they arrived so quickly today -- sooo exciting cant wait to use them
It IS great news for the Piggie and Chickens in the owners garage. Bless you for your intervention. Really enjoying trying each of your brushes as you show us how to use them! Question: what do the brushes have on them when they arrive? What’s the recommended way to get them ready to paint? I store my brushes in glasses, brush end up, to dry. Is this ok?
Hi Julie, the brushes are just slightly stiffened with gum Arabic, I believe, which washes off easily in a pot of water. Nothing else necessary before starting to paint x
Hello Dianei love the spatter trees, they’re absolutely fabulous your painting sessions are very user friendly 👍🏻✨✨👍🏻✨❤️❤️Kure take paints Toxic?! Well I’ve caught my cat drinking dirty paint water a couple of times, and she seems ok so far, glad to hear Kure Take dispelled the myth that Amazon put out🤙🏼💯✨✨❤️
First of all,Utube has given me a place to leave a comment! The last 4 videos, there was no banner at the bottom to type in! Second, **sigh** about piggy! Third, thank you for easing my mind about the toxicity of K paints! Because I have a hard time keeping my cats from drinking my paint water! To end this diatribe , love this star!XXXOXX❤️❤️❤️
Hi Posie, answers in order … glad that RU-vid has stopped messing with your head! Piggy is doing better now he’s got a roof over his head! Kuretake paints are not going to kill anyone, and Arthur likes to sip regularly from my Mason jars and he isn’t showing any signs of poisoning yet! And to finish, so glad you enjoyed the star! It was fun to paint xxx sending you love xxx
I just used 140lb Meeden watercolor paper. It’s 100% cotton and won’t yellow so you can keep the decorations year on year. It’s thick enough to keep a good shape but thin enough to be easy to cut. I used both the hot pressed and the rough, but the cold pressed is perfect too. A lot of fun making something for nothing!
