Major railway nut here so a few extra facts to do with the train in this game: 1 - Under the freeway overpass just north of Textile City, there are a gathering of freight cars around a small industrial area. Despite double stacked containers being pretty iconic on American trains, this is actually the only place in the game where you can see an intermodal car with two containers loaded. 2 - In the original release of the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 the freight train didn't stop at the power station. This only became a thing on the 8th gen release version and accompanying patches on PC. 3 - On the decommissioned tracks in the industrial part of the city and in Paleto bay, you can find several small two axle wooden freight wagons. These are actually British style freight wagons right down to the coupling gear consisting of a chain, hook and pair of hydraulic buffers. 4 - There are several crossings across the game's map where the crossing signs for some reason face the tracks rather than the roads. 5 - Police vehicles are normally unable to spawn in on railway tracks and must instead drive onto them after spawning on roads. There are two places on the map however where this is not the case: The northern entrance to the tunnel which leads to the docks, and along the section of rail just south of the truckstop with many bridges running parallel to the highway.
I knew a few of these and some of them I guess I’ve noticed, and never thought about but definitely some very interesting information Good learning opportunity
“I’m going off the rails on a crazy train” - ozzy ozbourne And for the posh people “I’m removing ones self from the railway infrastructure of a ludicrous locomotive”
Random fact: The freight train's speed is actually 33 mph, I tested by having the train push my vehicle and watching the speedometer (also done with cars with digital speedos to confirm), and this is proven with a mod that makes driving the regular freight train possible
Fun fact: if you start the mission "Pulling Favors Again" too close to the tracks where the car is supposed to spawn, it will spawn at Davis instead. Then the train is going to actually be on the tram lines. If you complete the mission, but not lose sight of the train, you can see it still being there. The train will stop at every passenger station and will even open the doors of the container carts, but no one is going to get in. @@BuckacherzI did! Not exactly at first, as I thought my stuff was just bugging or glitching out (old tv and old xbox causes some of that when I use RU-vid) but then I realized I was right, and it wasn't a glitching.
fun fact, in gta online, if you park one of your personal vehicles, a van or something tall, next to the train at the power plant, then go some mile back so you have time to set the train on fire using gas or molotov, the drive jumps out the train. when the train then stop at the power plant you climb on top of your vehicle and press the button to enter the vehicle if you do it right, you can "drive" the train ( you can only use the horn and lights but i think is a cool glitch )
The tunnel at 2:55 is actually super useful because its the only one i know of that makes u lose the cops, so its super useful in missions like the chop shop heists or the fully loaded (LSIA VER.)
I’m glad you enjoyed This truly is the ranking channel for GTA content Have you ever wondered what the best island is? What about gas station or Parkade? I’ve done that all
What’s weird is that rockstar used European buffet stops for ends of track. And British coal wagon cars and flat cars that you can see in the industrial section and cluckin bell yards
Wait, those cool waggon cars are British. I swear I’ve seen the same ones in Canada. I guess the design could’ve been brought over but that is interesting
Wow. Nice video. I would've completely spaced on the decommissioned crossings in the industrial area. I would've considered those first two "tunnels" bridges/overpasses though. That cable car should DEFINITELY not weigh anywhere near as much as a road switching diesel locomotive like we see roaming the map. Those freight cars are also way to heavy for what they are. A couple of other things I've found weird in my exploration of the railroad lines around Los Santos are the inclusion of old wooden British open wagons and flat cars complete with buffers and some interlocking system to differentiate them even further from the usual american rolling stock. I found nearly 2 dozen of them, mostly on the old line around the foundry where ending C starts, and I know of one in the small yard behind the cluckin' bell factory in Paleto. Another oddity to me is the use of standard gauge track in the mine. Tracks used in mines are supposed to be narrow enough that you can actually work around the carts that are used in those mines. Those are just a few things I picked up on as someone who likes trains. One more thing, I do remember that early in GTA Online (like on the Xbox 360) the freight train was indeed stoppable. I remember a few friends and I decided to try and blow it up so we threw a ton of C-4 on it and it did indeed explode and stop. I remember one time I even picked up one of those gas tankers from the gas station in Paleto and covered it in C-4 and parked it on a crossing and blew it up that way too. I think it was also stoppable for a short time on Xbox One, but it was so long ago at this point I can't be sure. All I know is for sure is, I used to be able to stop it.
I was just chilling around the docks area in GTA Online when I came across a train crossing I think you missed. Before you enter Terminal via the main road, to the right is a short unnamed road that connects to Abattoir Ave (the Merryweather dock area), and there you can find a big crossing. I'm not sure where it would rank, but it's pretty wide 😅 Great video btw!
Hey, i hate to beg, but i had birthday few days ago AND i really love your vids. I have an vid idea and hope u can do it: A video ranking EVERY BUS STOP in the game. Also see if realistic bus route(s) would be possible. And ofc a Bus ranking and Bus facts :) I know its weird but im a HUUUUGE bus fan and even play Bus Sim games... I loved Gta Vice City for having a working bus route... And i hope u can make a vid of busses and bus stops - it would be great as addition to ur tram vid :3 Greetings
This is a fun idea, I love the idea of figuring out the bus routes. I'll add it to the list, though the list is long so it may not be the next few vids
@@Buckacherz glad u saw it :) So i think a vid about busses is easy done, the bus stops and bus routes are the more complex topic indeed: To find all bus stops is not very easy, cause some are all over the map. If you do the vid somewhen in the future id be really excited about it - im also in many Bus Sim Communitys and would ofc recommend the vid :) Youre vids are really refreshing cause youre a "real" gta conten creator. The gta community is so mixed, its so difficult to find good vids. When i forst saw ur thumbnails i thought ur a classic clickbait person too - im so glad i gave u a chance, its top videos and u earned every subscriber. I wish you all the best for the future :)
I also would like a video on bus stops, not least because very recently I realised there's a bus stop on Paleto Boulevard - there's no shelter, just the Los Santos Transit sign - and now I'm wondering if there are any other such stops I've somehow missed over the past decade.
@@Gordanovich02 Hey, good news: Im working on the project right now =) I will stay in contact with Buck, so in future he may uses my infos to make a video about it =)
rank every vehicle individually and yes, everything including props, unobtainable vehicles, and give them all their individual description on why they get that ranking specifically.
If you catch the train after a scripted event, you can actually blow it up and stop it completely. Like after finishing the Paleto Score you can put some sticky bombs on the train that Michael Trevor and Franklin were on and it will blow up.
Take the decommissioned tracks to the docks and the train crossing warning lights are across the tracks and not the road. As a matter of fact you need to reflect on all the signal lights and warning lights in this game to see how stupid they really are.
Up to the right? That’s actually my custom made 1000 subs play button It’s a little 3D statue But yeah we are a fan of deer here too, it’s part of the reason I got my name, Buck-acherz
As a former Angeleno I wish R* brought back Unity Station and the Brown Streak from the original San Andreas to 5; Perhaps they could've made Mirror Park Railyard and the Dashound Bus Station into Unity Station, with an underground station for LS Transit and a surface station for the Brown Streak.
Don’t know if other have commented this but: There are loads of trains you can _actually_ stop in the game, not just trains that stop themselves. Any train that is spawned by a mission, and is not despawned after the mission passed screen, will be destroyed with 3 RPG shots and therefore stop. The best example of this is the train at the end of the Paleto Score, but that one parachuting activity, that drunk Trevor switch and the final strangers and freaks for Mr and Mrs Thornhill all work as well.
Theres actually one crossing you missed. Its a crossing at #4 ( 3:48 ) right after the bridge and before the tunnel where a small utility road crosses the tracks in between the two.
8:45 I don’t know what it is with McDonald’s crossing, but I’ve got my supply warehouse right down the road, and whenever I source, the train’s alway’s *right there* on my way back
some of the trains can be destroyed in freeroam for instance in on of the parachute missions near the tallest train bridge after that mission is finished the train can be blown up along with the train that spawns when you randomly switch to Trevor and he is hung over on the railroad track that train can also be destroyed it also only spawns with two cars and the tow truck mission for franklin where someone is stuck on the subway track a normal train will appear after the mission you can find the train with the subway ai and will stop at the stations and open its doors even though its a freight train
@@BuckacherzI just want to know who voiced them npcs as there's no knowledge that I can find on Google. Have they been voiced by the same person or is there a different voice for every NPC?
I always beat the train at Carson Ave, on the way to the docks to drop off an exotic export or anything I always take the same way and the train triggers as you approach. If you’re going fast enough you can make it under the arm before it goes down 😝
If you get around to doing it, i'd like to see a video About every building in gta v. This includes facts about the buildings themselves and their roles in missions, as well as their real-life inspirations.
Those elevators lead to the lower floor inside the station itself. Like the elevators aren't even active, but you can see on the level, where the tracks are, there's another elevator just below the one you pointed out.
If I’m correct you CAN stop the train (although I saw this in a video from a long long time ago so I doubt it still works),according to the video, any scripted train can be destroyed. With the most notable example being the train spawned in for that one bass jumping mission where you have to land on it,if you use something like bombs or rocket launcher it will supposedly be able to get blown up
Yes, I’ve learnt that shortly after missions or in specific missions, you can destroy it I just didn’t feel like going through every single mission to find each one Maybe I’ll do that one day
you can destroy the train if its spawn by a mission like in story mode at the 4 parachute icons that are close to each other idk what parachute is it but it works
You forgot too mention you can stop the train in story mode. By doing one of the parachute missions, if you stay on that specific train that spawns you can stop/blow it up with C4’s.
9:33 it's a bit sad that those cars in the port were not part of any mods. If i had to choose between those wellcars with containers like Jetsam, Bilgeco and other companies over standard white flatbeds with D-Rail and Lando containers, i would take those wellcars in the port any day because it gives a sense of realism.
I remember stopping the train (freemode) with like 15 sticky bombs back on xbox 360. And the front of the train turned black. One thing i wish i did back then was what happens if a 2nd train collided with the blown up one P.S. This was a very old version of gta on the Xbox360. Before they removed the ability to destory the train
How many abandoned cars are there on the map, and how many were actually used in the series of gta, like some of the bus scraps i dont recognise from other gta games but quite a few are from gta4.
you can stop the train after the parachute mission where you land in it. right after you complete the jump place some sticky bombs on it and it will blow up and stop
Hello bro, this is to tell you that you forgot a type of train. In the car workshop, we can start a mission where we have to steal an EMP (Or something like that) We have to stop the train de Merryweather (which is red with different wagons). It is therefore considered a type of train and wagons.Have a good day
Interesting fact it is actually the same train in the game files just coloured differently But the cluckin bell one is a different model entirely in the game files
@Buckacherz how would they all weigh the same tho that's crazy, especially considering an empty well car and a well car with an intermodal container in it, which Weighs 20 more tons loaded 😂
Fun fact next to the draw bridge near the docks under the train bridge there is old abandoned train tracks I believe the story is that when they built the draw bridge they had to elevate the tracks so they just stop using the old tracks
I hope in GTA 6, you can drive the train, stop the train, derail the train and have multiple trains(like GTA San Andreas). Because if GTA 6 will be the realistic game,it's must have these features for the trains in GTA 6!!!
Itmust be a mandella effect but I thought back on PS3 and 360 you could destroy the engine of the train and it would stop but I guess I'm misremembering. Also you should've mentioned the glitch that when the train stops at the power plant you can hold the button to get into the tanker cars for some reason and you will ride inside of it.
I almost added that into the list but between the ones on the map and everything there’s not really that much difference Maybe I’ll make a short about it
On Xbox 360 and ps3. It was able to blow up the train and well it stops when it’s blown up. I’m free mode aswell, I saw vannos do it so I did it and it actually worked, but they might of patched it.
