The blue fire isn't an inconsistency! It's a chemical reaction only happening on soulsand or soulsoil. Like copperdust turns a flame green in irl, soulblocks turns it blue in Minecraft. The player burns red because no reaction is happening
Came here to say this. If you were to light a stove (in real life), the fire will be blueish. But if you use that stove to set a piece of coal on fire, that coal will burn with orange fire, even if it was lit by blue fire.
I'm correctly working on setting up a Vanilla+ modpack for my coworker on Fabric, so I found this quite timely actually. Very nice mod selection - there were some new ones in there for me.

Yeah... and I absolutely hate that feature.... it's really annoying to build a structure in a cold biome and constantly have to shovel snow if you want your build to stay visible and your animals to stay in their pens. If the sun was at least allowed to melt layers of snow off over time, then maybe I wouldn't hate it so much. I really did try to give Bedrock a chance, but I'm definitely a Java player through and through, partially because of this feature alone.
@@Bread_with_jam ....that's a lot of string to place. I'll just stay on Java where I can get the pretty snowy landscape and skip the mad string placing.
For those who want an even more difficult final boss, Savage Ender Dragon is compatible with the Ender Trigon mod, so you could have the best of both - basically, a three-headed Dragon that can drill into blocks, grab players and drop them from the air, breathe purple fire on top of Fireballs, and summon baby Dragons, Blazes, Endermen, Phantoms, and lightning bolts. It's amusingly ridiculous.
ye and it offers lots of config so u can make the dragon even more op if u have other mods with them like deeper and darker or cataclysm and enchant mods
This is a surprisingly well put together list, usually whenever someone (including myself) tries to put together a modpack of vanilla+ features, things tend to go a bit overboard, but honestly aside from maybe Nullscape and Savage Ender Dragon this is a soild list, and the great part about mods is that you can pick and choose what you do and don’t want!
What I like about the nullscape is that the biomes it adds feel barren the way end should be while still adding variation. Unlike the trees and weird mobs you find in other mods
@@unknownplayer10kThat's exactly why I love betterEnd, it adds crazy environments, that don't fit the vanilla end at all, but they fit the concept of "the end" imo, like a place where everything end up sooner or later, many wild things can be found there. I hope the betternether and betterEnd teams make a overworld mod
Right? If I'm looking for a BETTER end, I don't know about other people, to each their own, but I want the End, but better. Not another version of the overworld, or the Aether, or the Everbright, or a Lovecraftian horror. Just give me some of the assets so easily at the disposal of the game used in interesting ways.
@@steinkoloss7320 I feel kinda opposite, better end feels more like "the new beginning" than "the end" because of all new life forms, plants etc basically making the end feel more alive and making it another copy of overworld except with glowing effects. While the real end is an ending to the game by adding a world this empty which fits its name "The End".
One mod that I'll recommend is the Enchancements mod, which completely overhauls the enchanting system to make it way more fun, basically removes boring stat based enchantments and adds fun ones, like Gale, which allows you to double jump, or Extracting, which is FTB Ultimine but it leaves the stone behind after mining. The mod is super configurable and you can even add back all vanilla enchants. Over all the mod is a bit less vanilla then some mods mentioned here, but it's worth checking out.
You deserve way more subs! I clicked on this video and the presentation quality and ending was better than some channels with 100k or more! Keep up the good work, you’ve earned a new sub!
the mods for the end really show that they need to work on the end. its cool for about the first time you play it, but it gets old fast. having the nether update treatment for the end would be really nice and something like the ender dragon mod to change the fight to be an actual like.. bossfight :p
The end is supposed to be... the end, a barren wasteland at the end of the game. It doesn't need an overhaul like the nether. It DOES need something, literally anything, that isn't chorus fruit, endstone, and endermen. That is very boring, even if it's the point
I absolutely love all of these! I also like the mod that makes tourch flowers actually glow to be useful. Its such a shame Mojang didnt do anything interesting with any of the ancient flowers :/
the soul fire mod actually kinda goes against real life. you know how stoves have blue fire because they are really hot. if you light something on fire with that, do you think it would still be blue fire? i dont think so, but ive also yet to burn anything in blue fire 🎉
Yeah but soul fire is not blue because its hotter, its blue because of the souls from soulsand and soulsoil, its the exact same blue as them and can only appear on the soul blocks. Also unrestricted fire like on those blocks does not burn a full blue, if you remove a stove's diffuser you will see it start blue and then go orange at the tip, something soulfire doesn't do. Not to mention soul fire doesn't burn wood iirc, which wouldn't be true for plain hotter fire, and scares piglins, which normal fire also doesn't do.
Fires burn different colors based on the fuel type that is burning, and the chemical reaction that is happening in the flame. this is why gas fires are blue, and salt fires may be green, and people do in fact burn yellow like wood fires do.
These are a really good selection of mods and none of them scream op or underpowered and none of them feel ridiculously unvanilla Great video you gained a sub
I think so improve fire overlay would be dumb because when you light methane gas on fire it gives a blue color like soul soil but if you use that fire to light a paper the paper will burn like normal not in blue fire so i think mojang did a right job and this mod is not needed But if it does appeal your eyes i think its a win win
yeah the color of fire is always based on what specific elements are undergoing the chemical reaction (fire is a chemical reaction, not a lot of people know that detail) and if you follow the "exp = soul energy" fan theory, it makes even more sense that the fire would change color on transferringto the player, because the soul sand/soil burning is burning "soul endergy" and when that fire transfers to the player, it's burning the materials you are made of.
Soul fire is blue because of the fires reaction to the composition of the soul sand. The player isnt made up of soulsand, thus once they catch on fire, they burn orange. Its no inconsistency. It's science
but if we were covered in soulsoil we would indeed burn blue (like how if you throw certain things into a campfire it changes the fire's color even though the wood burning would be orange), which we'd have to step around in soul soil to light on fire so it'd be on us turning the flames blue (though probably only for a short time)
its the smallest things that matter the most, I think the problem with mojang is there thinking of big things and things that have already been kinda done already, we need these small features, it adds character and creativity, it makes the game feel more immersive and fun
Then if they add smaller things, they'll hear "this was such a lazy update, barely anything changed". Just the curse of being a dev. No matter what you do, someone will feel you arent doing what you should be doing.
If you like the look of Nullscape, Incendium is worth checking out too. It's by the same developers and is basically their take on the Nether dimension - it departs further from vanilla, adding new biomes, structures, weapons and even a boss I think.
You came in clutch with this video! Great work and thank you for the sauce! Most of these are exactly what I was looking for. Subbed and Liked. Looking forward to more videos!
Thank god, finally someone who knows what a proper vanilla+ mod is. Everyone else just puts mods that add a single item or something lame and adds nothing to the game Btw great editing and video it's really great
As a person of science I have to inform u that the colour of fire is determined by the colour of the glowing soot thus making the soulfire enflaming u with red fire not an inconsistency. Copper for example burns blue but if a copper fire where to ignite wood it would still burn yellow.
it always bothers me when people get mods that make soul fire make you burn blue.. because you aren’t made of soul sand so why tf would you burn blue once you get set on fire it only makes sense that you burn orange
Another good, vanilla friendly mod for pets is Domestication Innocation It gives pets a bed to spawn to when they die, Govea a wayward lantern that pets in unloaded chunks will teleport to, a collar charm that you can enchant with new enchantments to keep your pets safe, and it’s lets you take foxes, rabbits and axolotls! And there’s more but it’s really cool
Sleeping on the Timber! Mod here. When you cut down the root of a tree the whole tree falls. More realistic, better for resource gathering and simply makes sense.
The problem with these lists is that extensive modding runs the risk of locking you into the current version if a mod that is not safe to remove stops getting updates. Connectable Chains, Snow Magic and Nullscape all seem amazing, but not safe to remove (although Nullscape is described as a datapack packaged as a mod, aren't datapacks supposed to be mostly version independent?).
@@UltimateSpinDash I mean, it IS an option..it's just one you don't want to pick! Or there's the other option: restart with a new world but keep your old hardcore world! You can play multiple worlds at once. I sometimes play multiple modpacks at one time switching between them whenever I get a bit tired of one ig
Someone should create a Far Cry Primal sort of ‘beast menu’ where if you press a key you can summon on command any tamed pet/created golem, only one pet capable of attacking can be out, but ones that don’t can be summoned as much as you want. Different cat types and parrot types will have their own subsections to summon, etc. think that would be amazing use of them, then rather having your 500 dogs sitting in your home forever.
Everyone is talking about how end needs an update. Honestly the end isn’t supposed to be some grand area I believe the way it is right now is good. It has the boss and some endgame content. The bleak and empty tone of the end fits with the endermen and the end of the game should not be changed.
I get what you’re saying, but most long time players will eventually beat the endgame and probably play for a good while after as well especially if it’s a multiplayer server. And for those players the empty yet vast amounts of land in the end with the only thing there being yet the same old structures and mobs everywhere kinda sucks and gets boring fast. They want an update similar to the end update where there gets added a 2-5 new biomes with potentially new blocks, structures and mobs doted around the land making the end fell more alive and interesting.
I like the idea of adding more fun attack patterns of the Ender Dragon without making the fight annoying like anti-cheese methods or insta-kill attacks.
Thank you😊❤... Yesterday I was actually thinking of Improving Minecraft's 4 Disciplines: Combat, Building, Redstone and Exploration. The Nullscape is good for Exploration. The Inventory Update (forgot the name sorry😢) is good for Combat & Building. And Redstone 😅 uhm... I dunno... But your efforts to bring those Mods to light/to public is very much appreciated❤😊
Because it's a pain..snow builds up and doesn't stop..it leads to builds being covered in snow, surrounded by walls of snow, animal pens eventually letting animals out unless it has a roof as the snow layers will build up til the animals can just walk out, ect. They've stated before they won't add weather that destroys the world or your builds..hence why they didn't add snow non-stop layering up into java and bedrock; it's also why they refuse to add things like tornadoes. tl;dr they didn't add it as it'd ruin builds in snowy areas leading to snowy areas being places people just cannot build in. I think you can turn it on in java with commands but it's defaulted to off with snow layers having a limit to how much they'll build up
When a player/mob touches soul fire it turns yellow because it is not using soul sand as fuel anymore. Soul fire isn't inconsistent, it just burns blue because it's using soul sand as fuel, when it"s not burning anything soul related, it burns yellow normaly
I freaked when you showed Deep Pockets. That could be added as a super rare book in the new Archeology sites, the big ones that are meant to be unearthed.
I GENUINELY wonder When Minecraft is DONE and there's no more updates, I wonder how many Mods and Addons and all that stuff will have actually been made into real official features
I'll take everything except the snow accumulation part. That feature exists on bedrock, and it's a royal pain to upkeep a build in a cold biome because there's no natural method of removing the additional snow layers beyond spamming torches everywhere, or literally shoveling snow, which is annoying enough in real life. I'm building a mountain castle base in a gorgeous snowy peaks mountain range on Java right now, and I'm soooo thankful the snow doesn't accumulate, otherwise I'd have given up on the idea from the start.
Those mods will likely break the end, but also who would want a worse dragon fight? If it truly was the final boss, buffing it would make sense, but a large portion of the game is locked behind the end, you gotta defeat the dragon to get your Shulker Boxes and your Elytra, and your fruit which is used by some mods, and your purple building blocks, not to mention an Enderman farm for exp and pearls. Also the ground of the end is needed for a few things like recipe duplications. Yea that last part can be done without defeating the Dragon but still, the Dragon is the beginning of the dimension, you kind of have to fight it before you get anything else from the dimension and so the quicker and easier it is the better. Let the final boss of Minecraft come from the other mods you add, something from Cataclysm or maybe the worm that you can summon in the End from some mod where you toss a thing into the void.
