This video is 100% right! I’m a 76 year old widow. My husband died in 2021 after we were married for 53 wonderful years! Then my 52 year old son died of a massive heart attack 10 months later. I could crawl into a hole and die, but I don’t choose to do that! I travel, belong to a great neighborhood book club, force myself to get out of the house and am doing ok. I'm blessed with good health, nice neighbors, and a lot of interests. So glad to find your channel today. I too started life in England, am in the US now for many years. I had a life long fear of drowning. When I was 57 and retired I decided to learn to swim, by myself, from RU-vid. I did it in a year; 6 days a week for one hour pool time. I lost weight, got muscle and better cardio fitness, and I can do front crawl breathing on both sides comfortably (and breaststroke, too).

Don’t look back that’s not where your going. Such a great reminder especially for some one going through “grey” divorce. Thank you 🙏🏻

I recently joined the Senior Center and volunteered. I made a few friends immediately.

I am "old school" and proud of it. I never thought the world would be so strange when I got to older age. I am 3-4 generations removed from what I learned and what worked in my life. This world is no longer mine. I choose to live my life without learning all these new things that are actually more difficult that what I grew up with. I am not going to be forced into the latest and greatest and more expensive items when I can still buy what works for me. I am just fine and not lacking with my beliefs.

At age 82 I'm well past the age you speak of, but what you are saying apply to women like me as well as the 60 or 70 year old ladies out there. BTW I don't feel any older than I did when I was 60. Thank you so much. .

I believe in goals, even unrealistic goals! I went through yoga teacher training at age 61 and it was a fabulous experience! Some of my friends thought it was an stretch goal to be sure - but once I got over my fears it was much more doable than I imagined. And now I’m a yoga teacher! 😊🧘🏼

❤ this video, much more helpful and constructive than a counsellor I saw! After 2 abusive marriages I am judging myself constantly as a mother of 4, my real self is completely quelled by my irrational fear of them 'falling out with me' if I speak my mind. I'm weary that my life's worth is only their good opinion - thanks Margaret for shaking up my mind set, and not before time ❤ xx

I have decided to stop holding grudges, which I was doing in an effort to protect myself (because of two bad marriages and being backstabbed by many people since then). What a difference it makes. People are not ignoring me and my outlook is much healthier. The concept is to purposely try to bring joy into other people's life. I got that from the book, Women Rowing North which was recommended in these comments on a different video.

I enjoyed this video-you are spot on. I don’t believe people are any different, but societal values have certainly changed, not always in a positive way. The news media can’t be trusted; they do want to scare people. All we can really do is focus on being good people, taking care of ourselves, our families and when possible, our communities.

Many seniors use our city's senior center for a variety of resources. They also use the library, and the librarians are very accommodating. They should feel free to reach out to the employees in these departments. There are so many resources and networking opportunities for them.

Stop thinking that giving out LOVE means others will gift it to you in selfless return. All come from different backrounds /experiences .Just love and go to sleep at night knowing you offered the best you could. After all unconditional love means unconditional.😊

Margaret....your makeup is not waste...just don't go into debt for anything that you don't have too..we need to stand up for ourselves.. love the idea of saying NO ...how wonderful..set boundaries , especially on things that are important to you! I am 60, which surprises me. I think I just retired in January... quit a toxic workplace. I do plan to find some work once my injuries are healed. I feel so much younger.

Wow just stumbled on gem and even though this a course for women and I’m but all of these thing she mentioned apply to both women and on. I live for 2 years,on my live with a daughter 3 cats 2 dogs and 3 girls under 34 but it’s like living with a pre teen, so thanks this really it hits home with leal
