My 2016 had an EVAP issue at about 30k other than that absolute no issues at all since. 230K on odometer and still going strong without any break downs. This has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and I would buy another no questions asked.

@@pinkitten1712 if its the diesel 2.5 It is good and really reliable, but there are some things other than regular maintenance that may improve performance and reliability in the long term. Firstly, there is a system that returns black exhaust gas filled with unburned diesel to the engine so that it is completely burned. It is better for the environment and for fuel consumption, but it is bad for the cleanliness and quality of the engine. Because it is filled with carbon from the exhaust gas that returns to the engine, so it may cause you some problems in the long run, and you must clean the engine from the inside more. I dismantled it and programmed the oxygen sensor since the end of the warranty, so I do not suffer from any problems. Perhaps the exhaust produces thick black smoke when you step on it. Pedal hard, but this is normal, and this is what is expected from a diesel engine, and I would prefer for this black gas to be out of my engine, not returned to the engine In order to fix the environmental damage caused by giant factories

I've had my 2015 Frontier since day one and the only thing that has gone wrong is a tire sensor that I haven't even fixed yet. I just keep checking the tire pressure regularly. It's been a reliable vehicle. Wish the gas mileage was better though.

Have a 2012 frontier almost 5 yrs, I put 100k miles on it. I was having a crankshaft position sensor code come up and a oxygen sensor code..my son changed them both, then the spark plugs and a ignition coil screw broke in the valve cover. To take that off most of the top had to come off. Got that fixed, but then the oil gauge started fluxuating, has anyone had this problem, I keep seeing discussions on the earlier 2009 models , everyone says smtg different abt what the problem is. It 100 percent wasn't doing that bf all the items began comming off the motor..😢 its very upsetting , it's my only transportation I just paid off last yr. The oil pans have been dropped , oil changed, timing chain changed, oil pressure sensor, evap sensor , hoses , belt, not sure what else but a whole lot, it has always been in the middle since I bought it, now it bounces, any suggestions much appreciated

I have a 2017 Frontier. It's my first truck. It wobbles now when I drive. I got an alignment and it helped a little, but it started again. When I make a left turn, the steering wheel feels loose. It doesn't help either that the roads here are like driving on the moon. I need advice.

I’m replacing my front struts with some aftermarket Monroe shock and strut assemblies this week. I’m having the same problem. From what I’ve gathered, the man problems are : sway bar endlinks, inner and outer tie rod failure, and control arm bushing wear. I probably am going to replace the rest but I’ll let you know how it goes after I get the shocks replaced.

@jtaylor37160

Bought new 2016 now 230K and still going strong, I've driven the Tacoma among others and for reliability and value you cant go wrong with the Frontier. The only thing I have an issue with is MPG. 15 on average but if I drive like a normal person I get 19MPG average. This is an analog truck the design has been around since 2005 and refined to perfection. I wouldn't buy anything under 2016 and stay away from the newer 3.8 V6 version only because it was made for 2 years before the new generation.

@@jtaylor37160 Sadly the one it was ment for kinda got "set" on toyota sence we have been looking. One we was looking at had 4L v6 with 94k on it. looked clean imo and was 23k. @@Xanthro2 hate to tell you, my brothers Tundra and my dads tacoma both had issues. My dads Tacoma (2016) had a crank position sensor failure, which potentially could have created engine failure and he had a differential leak, which caused diff failure. Both vehicles were recalled for airbags and the tundra was also recalled for the frame. If you’re buying based on a guarantee of no failure, good luck.
@Xanthro2
@Xanthro2 Год назад
@@joesteel3459 Aye I understand nothing is flawless, but given the history of Tacoma vs many other things, it seems to have a far better record then most as far as I can find. Also, cost of repair is another factor of mine, toyotas are just cheaper to fix it seems as they are more common and many things across there line up use the same parts like chevi/ford fleet cars/trucks/vans. I just don't ever wanna touch a dodge, ford, chevi ever again and I dont really trust Nissan, even less so now that I've seen this video.
@joesteel3459
@joesteel3459 Год назад
@@Xanthro2 I don’t blame you on the Ford, Chevy, Dodge…more recalls than I would care to deal with too. I just come from a “Toyota family” they are great. My first vehicle was a 1986 Toyota pickup that my dad passed down to me in 1995. We’ve had Toyotas ever since. I did recently buy a 2023 frontier pro 4x after driving a new Tacoma, which I personally thought was uncomfortable, I hate the constant gear searching, and felt it was a bit underpowered compared to the Nissan. But they are great vehicles, just didn’t want you to think you were guaranteed reliability security because it’s Toyota. Anything can happen. For the future, I hope Toyota doesn’t go the turbo route. That “cheaper to fix” and reliability will take a hit for sure.
