I'm not even disappointed the cat mountain isn't barfing up a rainbow bc I think I'm more impressed it managed to barf up such an aesthetic choice of blue hues
Its so magical!!! How it transitions! The colors look amazing with the blue. The little hints of the color really make it’s beautiful to me. In a fantasy way in how i see it. Also flowers, i feel like she draws colors in this styled way in circles. Even my drawing of flowers changed and some traditional and classics are kinda harder to make.
Loving the contrast between spending so much time meticulously hatching with a ruler and smearing in random colors with king chungus the crayon 😂 And I do not see flowers hahaha. Beautiful piece tho
I love the story linking the drawings. It’s amazing to me how you were able to create so much life even before the color was added, just through the composition and textures. So cool.
I think another technique you’d like that you could use crayons with is like an ‘encaustic’ painting. I remember doing it once in an art history class. We took crayons and those metal cupcake wrappers and put them on a pancake griddle to keep them melted and used those real cheap completely plastic brushes to paint the wax on a wood block. Some people would put a whole mess of color down then put a wash of black on top and etch out a drawing or just layered stuff on top of itself and making a 3D drawing! It’s super fun and I recommend trying something like it! (I’m not 100% sure this counts as true encaustic work)
Yes i love this name you gave it. This Meowtain’s main feature is its fantasy like waters that awes guests and vistors alike who travel to see its magic. The water gets hints of pink that complement the blue till you get to the white puffs when it hits land. The beautiful colors that are reflections of light from the water make it a must see for anyone who travels to the few locations known to be found. Though not much is known of which places, areas or different worlds these can be found! So look out to find this huge mountain shaped like a cat! Maybe you might be lucky to find it if you find some cat like creatures roaming around! Who knows!
I just finished and was not expecting a story to unfold! I guess I subconsciously guessed that a story was going to happen! Its a silly funny story maybe the kid who made the scribbles of color in the last one. Was the creator of the story! It does kinda make me want for it to be something like those comics with the pencils! (Forgot the name of them) but i also remember there was also another story.. Well guess i will keep on imagining these story’s or maybe continue them in my mind of course! Such a fun video to watch!
they turned out so cute!! the second circle sketch option made me think of the kitty sorta scratching that plain white background revealing some bright and colorful surface underneath. the final one is simply amazing too though!
Those type of crayons have been around since Moses was on Mt. Sinai, or at least since the Carter Administration! ❤ I had one (not quite so big) when I was a wee mump. Glad to see they're still around!
You have been an enormous inspiration to me Kasey 🖤 I used to feel pressured to achieve realism in my art even though it doesn’t make me happy and it made art more stressful than fun for me. I discovered your channel through the 75 foot long doodle video a while back and I’ve been branching out since then! Your style made me feel so happy and inspired and I can’t thank you enough for being the catalyst that motivated me to be truer to myself in my own art
My cats are still learning to stay off the desk too 😂 very much an ongoing process. They’re mainly just curious about everything I’m doing and only sometimes get paint on their paws/tails
kasey... I LOVE YOUR DRAWINGS IN THIS VIDEO (Especially the cat mountain)😭 but i got sad that you didn't draw the cat planet 😞 but the cat transforming to a big cat is really cool too 😎
The crayon should come with your black and white drawings to go crazy on with the thing. The circle kitty background looked like fun to do! I love the waterfall mountain. My fave.
I feel like the illustrations tell a story! First a kitty climbs a magic meowtain, then when the kitty reached the top, it becomes a magic monster kitty and finds a near by city!!!!
My cat is also obsessed when I'm making something. He just has to sniff whatever I'm using. Luckily he doesn't really interfere, aside from demanding sniffs. 😁
I wonder if you'd get more varied color if you just took the crayon and ran it longways over the paper? Less control that way, but for covering large areas with color it would work maybe?
Kasey you're such an inspiration and it lights my day up when you post!!! Thank you for giving me something to do while i waited for the youth center in town to open! :D
At first the little black circles on the grey looked like a sort of birch tree bark texture when you first swatched it, but on the finished piece it looks like those music pieces played digitally and this is the visual representation of it? Idk if that makes sense.
Also since you love crayons you should definitely try Cra-z-art crayons. They are better quality than they used to be. I have a pack of 96 and they are great
I like to think that the plane is a souped up passenger jet piloted by a weird old man who tried to warn the city about giant drunk cat, but no one believed him. Beautiful work as always! Thanks for the video.
Maybe the Cat was told about the rainbow water and wanted to check it out, drunk from it, became big. But because it got drunk from all the rainbow water it didn't notice its size and just wanted to go to bed.... but the city thought it was aggressive in truth it's just drunk and wants to sleep haha
I think we are all dreadfully awaiting the day where she doesn’t include a cat in her sketch… I’m not sure I’m ready for that day yet, and I’m not sure i ever will
Hullo Kasey, How are Ham n Cheese? I guess we see they are influencing your Art that's kinda cool. Glad your still plugging away. How are your Ants doing? I miss them. Any kind of news on your book?
I had one of these as a kid and all I remember is that my uncle wanted to try it and he accidentally dropped it and it broke in half and I cried for like an hour
