Honestly, the OoB stuff is extremely cool simply because you get to see how fully-modeled everything is. They didn't need to put that much effort in, but it gives me the idea that all these levels were designed as if they were actual areas first, levels second.

@@samuelthecamel Ok, but how many OoB glitches in other games actually have substantial collision? In most games, you take 5-10 steps out of bounds, and you start phasing through walls, and then the floor ceases to exist, and the game's failsafe inelegantly plonks you back onstage.

According to the dev interview, they made a procedural environment generator to fit the level they made.

@@OffAirProductions Having collision on loads of out of bounds stuff isn't some intentional effort by the devs. And likewise, it not having collision doesn't make devs lazy, quite the opposite, doing collision passes is an integral step that helps optimise the game to run on framerate. Its not needed in areas you are not supposed to be.

@@hallm3lbp Yeah, I'm not exactly out to praise it. I'm sure some form of optimization could come from not having collision on areas where the player should never reach. I just think it's cool that we can explore these areas normally though, instead of requiring some "moon jump" or "no clip" hacks.

Thematically, it's really fitting for the Kirby game about exploring a new world to have most of its glitches involve going out of bounds and exploring new and unknown parts of its levels Glad that Forgotten Land has more glitches than the average modern Kirby game (As far as I can remember), means I have more of a reason to play around in it

Was thinking the exact same thing. Like when kirby was about to land on that girder that was so much further up than he was ever meant to go, I thought "yeah no he's just gonna fall right through it" _and then he didn't_

There's this one that contains spoilers to the arena, and a huge one: So, there's this hammer glitch that most people have been talking about, it's like Fire Super Jump but easier to do with the hammer ability, and basically, in the final battle in the Ultimate Cup Z at the orb battle, if you get out of boundries and fall to the abyss, you'll spawn a *_second elfilis as punishment_*

Don’t even need to fall into the abyss, land on the stairs and walk back into the arena and another will spawn without making you lose HP.

It's amazing how much out of bounds level geometry has working collision. Normally you just fall through the ground, but you can freely explore these areas.

It's always mesmerizing to me seeing something so far away in the background that you're not supposed to be in and somehow STILL have collision, lol. Maybe it's just the amount of reutilized assets but still.

This game is so well made that every sense of collision can be explored without hesitation of falling off into an abyss or softlocking. They made this the ultimate 3D Kirby and this really shows. cool finds btw

2:18 you forgot to mention that when you start the battle using the Tropic woods cutscene skip, the boss battle music doesn't play, and instead the music from before you start the battle still plays, because the developers didn't intend for the player to start the battle through this glitch

I don’t remember there being many glitches in the previous 4 big, modern Kirby games, but in all fairness, 3D games always have more exploits than 2D games.

It’s usually not too major for those games, HAL has been pretty good at ironing out big glitches for their recent games (though some Out of Bounds tricks were just discovered recently for Return to Dreamland)

Yeah it's just more difficult to prevent things like OOB in 3d games, one of the reasons modern games usually need bug fix patches.

4:17 the same bug sm3dw also have. Unity has this if you disable screen clearing. Frames are duplicated on static texture such as the void.

awesome video, I had no idea about the Out of Bounds in 4-3 but it kinda makes sense, I guess they forgot to set a hover height limit when Kirby hasn’t touched ground yet in a room

Too bad they didn’t put little rewards in those OOB areas like they did in Odyssey. That said it is interesting that some of these areas are fully rendered. Maybe at one point FL was gonna be more open.

There ARE some hard-to-reach areas which have goodies for exploration. OOB via glitch doesn't count, same as if you glitch into buildings and whatnot in Odyssey.

The Fire Super Jump can also be done with Toy Hammer, but slightly differently. You hover till Kirby becomes tired, transition into an air attack, and as the hammer hits the ground, hover again. Now Kirby basically does what a cat does when they touch water, except it isn’t in pure shock. This also allows you to do plenty of game breaking things besides out of bounds stuff. 1. By using this, you can access an area of water behind and underneath the colosseum. You can’t leave, so make the most of your time down there. 2. Going into the cinema and going left instead of forwards when using both the Fire Super Jump and the Toy Hammer variant can get you in an out of bounds area that counts as a pit. This is the only way you can die in Waddle Dee Town. 3. For some god forsaken reason, don’t ask why, during the second phase of Chaos Elfilis, you can use this glitch to clone the first phase. Apparently this is true, but I couldn’t get it to work myself or find any footage. 4. Among Us. Have a nice day.

It doesn't have to be the Toy Hammer; it can be the normal hammer as well! I've seen it used in speedruns to skip entire areas by flying over the loading zones.

You can also do a super jump with hammer! Just hover until kirby gets tired.When the descent is at half way, stop hovering and hold B. When kirby slams the ground, hover quickly

Fun fact if you do a flying with hammer(any upgrade of it), wait to run out of flight time, do the spin and when you land time a jump, you will fly up. If you do this in front of coliseum, you can go onto it, get to the entrance FROM THE BACK and then it will start metaknight cup, and after 1st fight, it will say you beat it, meaning you don't even have to beat anything other then 2 minibosses

oml you need to try this glitch, I got out of bounds on several levels and have explored almost every crevice of this game. you have to float until kirby gets tired and then do a hammer flip in the air and if you time it right you can go so incredibly high

0:52 WARNING: This glitch has side affects that may cause: anxiety, anger, rage, needing to throw the controller, heart attacks caused by to much energy spent to the arm, muscle pain, suicidal thoughts, and breaking the TV Syndrom, massive loss of air. There is also a glitch with any Hammer evolution that lets you go super high up, and with Toy Hammer, may go above invisible walls. To do it, you need to hover, wait for Kirby to start drifting down, then hold B for a short time to do the hammer bounce, then right after, start hovering.

i found a glitch with the time crash and the dedede fight at the end of the game. I was trying to use time crash to get rid of his first phase fast, and then try to eat his hammer afterwards for the hammer ability. but the cutscene of him before getting into his second phase stopped my time crash from being removed, giving me a 2nd time crash to use

That Tropic Woods thing is definitely good for a 100% speedrun since it's otherwise impossible to get all the Dees in one run for Tropic Woods.

@@Acr0Games Because one of the Dees requires you to defeat Tropic Woods without a copy ability and another requires to defeat him in under two minutes, not to mention one where you need to destroy his roots. It *might* be possible, but the time frame still feels really tight.

It's def possible, and not as tight as you think, though using the skip is still probably faster regardless, since you skip the cutscene.

Random but it's also possible for Kirby to inhale 2 copy abilities at once but he only ends up using 1. I don't know why this can happen but I was glad I got the ability I was trying to inhale.

It's a feature actually, it randomizes your ability if you inhale multiple at once.

I once found a glitch with the morpho knight sword that had kirby do a spin slash while the sword was big. I think it was because I started charging it right as the sword was about to shrink. Btw this was dring the chaos elfilis fight in the orb phase (if that matters).
