PD I coined a new term to describe something that I’ve been experiencing on my awakening journey! I’m more involved in the spiritual aspect of therianthropy, and I’ve actually started using the energy of mental and aura shifts in my witchcraft. But something I recently discovered was that I did not have a past life. I am a new soul, so I started to have a lot of doubts about being a therian because I thought you could only be one through reincarnation. But I realized that my soul was ambiguous and it can change from person to my theriotype by outside factors (usually music, howling, playing with my dog, running in the woods etc etc), which triggers my mental shifts. So I am still therian, but not the way most people are if that makes sense. I coined the term False Therian to describe it, because what I consider a true therian is someone who was reincarnated from animal to human. But I don’t like the name because it makes it sound like I’m faking, so can you maybe help me come up with a new term? Also, do you think this is a valid way to label myself?

@@julietf3360 I honestly think this is not a good way to label yourself. Why would you go against the essence of therianthropy and coin a new term for something that is as much therian as reincarnation is? There is no reason to call it “false” in any way :) Therianthropy is the experience of animality (animalisticness, behaviour, mindset, phantom limbs,..) and/or animal identity. There are pschological therians, who believe these experiences are caused by imprinting or the complexity of human mind for example And there are spiritual therians, who believe this animality comes from a spiritual cause such as realcarnation, misplaced or dual souls etc. You having a soul that changes from human to animal, is therian! Just, therian. Reincarnation is far from the only way to be therian. (And pure reincarnation without animalistic experiences and/or identity isn’t even therianthropy at all hha) Giving you the term “false therian” because you personally belief therians are only therians through reincarnation (even if thats not the definition of therian or therianthropy) is not only unnecessary but also potentionally harmful. Say you call yourself a false therian or the like, for not being reincarnated. And people catch on to this and use this. You’d unintentionally perhaps change the definition of therianthropy and a lot of genuine therians, as much therian as reincarnated ones, may get the label “false therian” forced up on them. Which they wouldn’t want you see? So I personally would discourage coining a term for adressing therianthropy that isn’t reincarnated.

that's one mostly outsiders seem to have hha. They think we are trying to play some warriorcats game and always give our theriotypes hyper-cool names like firestart or the like. Like no xD Some may like to name their theriotype but quiet often it's more 'serious' sounding names rather than warriorcatstype names

The closest thing to a "named therotype" is my headmate hunter who is completly seperate from my personal therianthropy

Parents i find are the hardest to explain sometbung like therianthropy to. I told my mum about quadrobics and she said "so you think your a wolf why?" I digressed and said it was fun

Aslo 8 wear alot of gothic clothes, so I try to add my own twist of 2 completely different things put together

Calling therianthropy a religion is.. well wrong and misinformation. Therianthropy is defined as an experience or identity phenomen. The red like being “identifying as or having experiences of an animal on a non-physical level.” Like therianthropic shifts (mindsets, phantom limbs,...) While there certainly are spiritual therians, the community is about 50/50 split with also psychological therians who believe they have these animal experiences due imprinting or complexity of human mind for example. So calling it a religion basicly ignored 50% of therians as well. You see see the issue? Therianthropy can be influenced by religion or experienced through spiritualities tho ofcourse. And it may feel like a religion or spirituality. Also side note: if one just has a past life as an animal without any current animal identity or animal experiences or the like.. they’re a person who believes in reincarnation. Not a therian. Is this information clear? Be free to ask furrher questions!

@@psychoticheaven4134 it's alright, we learn all day honestly. I still do so myself. Tiktok is far from the best information source tho, so please be sure to take everything on there with a grain of salt. These people more often than not have very little connections to the rest of the community (like forums) or done any research towards the history of this community. Therian Wiki is always a good place for learning! As is the youtube channel 'Therian Nation'

@@Doyoulikestrawberrys hey, the simplest answer I can give you is 'yes'. But it depends a bit on what you DO experience. Could you tell me more about it, and why you would call yourself a therian? normally a therian is only a therian if they have an involuntary animal identity and/or experiences. This means that you did not intentionally create this identity or act out as an animal, it means that you cannot truely control what you identify as and experience. However, some therians figure out their own identity and experiences and are able to 'guide' this, by for example inducing or reducing shifts. Or triggering a shift thanks to specific acts such as going to the woods for a walk. It also doesn't mean that a therian hates being a therian, as many therians 'enjoy' being a therian due the unique animalistic experiences it gives us and the sense of belonging to a community. Generally, when someone voluntarily choses to have an animal identity or animalistic experiences, this person is a copinglink, a link or an otherlink , a 'kinnie' or a roleplayer. does this answer your question a bit? be free to give me more info so I could maybe help you more.

They found out I was a therian and saw people acting as animals. Because all they could see was weirdos, they banned me from that ad well. Now my entire flipping life is secret so hooray.

Dreams is just one of many experiences therians have. Some do, some don't! :) That you don't experience them doesn't mean you're not a therian.

Theoretically it's possible. But unfortunately, we don't have that much brain capacity... I guess. And also technology. Look at the reptilians. They change form with the help of some kind of technology, or they read your mind, put themselves in your head and transform into what you want to see. But not physically, but by illusion (Even physically, of course, if they want to). They will force you to see what you want to see, but at the same time, to make it normal for others around you.

the issue is that your view is too limited and seem not to understand how stereotypes work. With a stereotype it is the idea of 'all are x' or 'this type is y'. Ex: 'all therians are mental ill'. No, for a fact (and with scientific evidence), a lot of therians aren't (ofc some Might, just like some blond people are dumb but not all are like the stereotype says) yes, 'all x are mental ill' is a stereotype. Not an opinion one can or cannot agree with. This is no different from 'all blondes are dumb' say it was 'therianthropy is a mental illness' more in its litteral sense, that is indeed debateable. Then I'd just be voicing opinions. Not debunking. -> While many professionals state it isn't, and classify it as either an identity phenomen or spiritual experience. A lot of therians agree it is still a theory and possibility that it is a light form of clinical lycanthropy or in some other way linked to mental illnesses (or one itself). (A lot others rather think its neurological, etc) that's what this video is about. "you may think x due stereotype y. But no, as one within the community and either out of knowing the actual community or scientific evidence it is not x" I'm just realistic and instead of claiming 'no therian is mental ill' for some type of positive representation, I admit some might be. Weither or not it is, for them, related to therianthropy.

Otherwise you aren't, as I said, debunking shit. rewatch your own video. You don't cite anything that shows a debunk. You're just being anecdotal and like I said, disagreeing with a statement. "Someone faking it for attention and because they were influenced by their friends that are therian" or "they actually believe it and are mentally ill experiencing dysmorphia or dysphoria or both. Educate yourself, or do not and leave things you don't fully understand alone until you did. Either are fine. There are plenty of such studies easily to be found online, or check out the existing masterlists therians already made that recap some of those studies. It's a google search away, the choice is yours. But excuse me for having more important things to do than chew the books for you. I appreciate your opinion, even if I don't agree. A little correction: experiencing dysmorphia or dysphoria doesn't automaticly make someone mental ill (ex: transgender people are officially not considered mental ill because of that, and only body dysphoria is an official recognized mental illness of its own. Other dysphoria variants (premenstrual dysphoria, social dysphoria, post coitial -however u write that- dysphoria, .. are not necessarily disorders or mental illnesses on its own aka don't make one automaticly mental ill.) next to that, learn to have some fun instead of picking apart fun videos because you somehow feel like you have to correrct everything ;) If I were a scientific youtube channel or claim to be a psychiatrist or the like I'd understand. For now, turn to other types of channels instead of going 'no this word is not 100% academicly used in the correct way! now, have a nice day!
