"Back in the day" I thought that was funny when you said that in reference to old photos and double prints. I remember in high school my best friend and I would take lots of pics and we thought it was fun to get doubles so we could each have a set! lol It's hard to think that it was "back in the day" but it sure was! I got a laugh out if it. :D Also, I have been decluttering cardboard boxes in my basement. You would think that I run a mail order catalog business with all the stuff I have to ship and pack with! I got rid of not just the boxes but the dog hair and cobwebs that were stuck to the boxes! WIN!
I’ve gotten to a point where I am fairly minimal in most areas of my life. Some areas I just am not motivated to buy new items so I don’t find I need to declutter often. One area I am not as minimal is skincare and makeup. I love to own and use these products. I am more intentional in purchases, however I know I have a lot more in these areas than other people. However, I found that keeping an inventory of these items with a goal in mind for each item type (ie eyeshadow, lipstick, etc.). This inventory that I update a few times a year, help me to pinpoint those items that didn’t work (for donation) and also promotes me using up products. I’ve done fairly well with this system in keeping the # of products down so that I feel I’m coming closer to my goals.
Glad you are back and glad you had a nice break, I took a break from social media almost 2 months ago, except for YT and it was so freeing that I went ahead and deactivated the accounts and now I have more time to myself, my pup, nature, food prep, watching influencers like yourself that give me tips for a better quality of life. Ty for your dedication and sharing your knowledge with us. ✌🌱👑💚🌻
Welcome back. Have missed you. I love decluttering. My Son gets married in September and can’t wait to get his room sorted as he has the most stuff in the family. Will miss him though. Peace and luv Pammy
We are just heading back into lock down for six weeks from tomorrow. I have started labelling the things I have decided to keep in the hobby area. One of my reason to minimise is so I could find time for projects I enjoy. 18 months in, I still didn’t have time so last week I managed to set aside a day! Finished four chairs and a sofa (upholstery). Sorted the shed and garage before hand! Made my house bigger!
Thank you so much...the suggestions and way you broke them down were so helpful and simple. I am only halfway through the list and was able to get rid of quite a few things.
I had no idea you were back, I didn’t get the notification even though I have the bell turned on. Anyway, great ideas for decluttering this month - I’ve done some but not all. So glad to see a new video from you!
I've decluttered my place. The only thing I have left is books. I was donating them to my neighborhood library, but it's been closed since March. I'm thinking of calling a senior center or assisted living facility or nursing home.
Also schools, if the books are kid friendly. We will return to the classroom (I'm in California, USA and we are starting the year distance learning) eventually! The other thing I do is we have a lot of those little neighborhood library boxes, I don't know if you have them where you live, but they're great (even though I usually come away with other books in return!)
I like to take photos/magazine pics and create cards or tags instead of buying them. I even repurpose cards I recieve for cards or tags...people love them! 🙂
Sarah, great suggestions for finding 15 items to declutter this month! I am on it! Also, loved feelings of accomplishment as many of the areas have been addressed and it is easier to revisit them now. Being more minimal than loved ones and friends, your support means so much to many of us 💕🎶💐
Hi Sarah. Good to see you 💙 Comfy is best 😊 Your magazines in school reminded me that I donated some supplies to a primary school that used them for the wee ones to make cards etc so worth asking them. Thanks for sharing.
Sarah, I am a new subscriber from Indonesia. If you don't mind, please add subtitles in your video. So I can clearly understand your vlog. I am afraid if I take it wrong. Thank you, sarah. And I love your videos anyway. Keep the good things.
Glad to see you back! Project Beauty Share can be a great place to donate beauty and body care products! There are restrictions, of course, so check out the website, but it can be a good source to donate body care products that you won't be using but are still good.
It’s so nice to have you back! I really enjoyed listening to the peaceful, relaxing music that you posted last month. Waiting for your future videos eagerly...
Great video Sarah! Glad to see you.... I am relaxing in front of the fans today. It is so hot. I will work on decluttering tomorrow by adding to my bag of paperwork I started on.
Welcome back! Hope you had a wonderful, refreshing time away. Great ideas here-pots and pans is a really good one for me. Love your top, by the way-very flattering.🌷
Great tips, thank you. There is a Google app where you can scan your printed photos into your Google photos and then you can have them saved digitally. From there you can create photo books and even be able to put info on the photos. Its called PhotoScan. I've recently started going through the (what feels like thousands) of my photos and will be doing that and then getting rid of the printed ones.
An excellent and practical idea / tip. I'm going to try this. I literally have thousands of photos that I want to keep and don't want someone advising me to get rid of them with all the invaluable memories!
@@sunbeamred8175 Thanks. I too have so many photos and while my memory is still ok I want to be able to save them, put them in photo books vs albums/scrap albums (which I really wanted to do but never did) and be able to save them. You can even have more than one printed up of the same to give as gifts for your kids or grandparents etc. The photos you can use at any site that makes the books ie Walmart, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Chatbooks and the one I used for my first book is Shutterfly. Sometimes Shutterfly has specials running to get a free book, just pay shipping. I have not used any of the other places yet so unsure of the quality. I think Walmart has one that can be printed in an hour.
@@Greekkisses It's amazing that we have exactly the same issues dealing with thousands of photos. Fab idea to have books made as gifts or keepsakes. However, I live in London, UK. I'm sure we have something similar available here. It's really inspired me to take action now. Another option I am told is put them on CDs or memory sticks and distribute to family members etc. I have really old black and white photos of grandparents and others which I'm sure my sisters and my children and nieces and nephews and extended family would love to have
Really enjoyed this video, Sarah! I'm glad to see you back in full swing, and the ideas you mentioned in this video are some that I've tackled myself. Thanks for all your hard work
Unfortunately I am married to an “over buyer” and due to my health challenges he does most of the shopping. This causes me some anxiety. Ugh! I think I’ll keep him and live with some extra “stuff”.
Hi Lisa! I'm so glad you enjoyed the music I posted! At this time, I don't think I will continue posting since I have other topics I would like to prioritize, but I could see myself doing more someday!
Hi Sarah! I do not know How you spell your name, sorry. I am new to your channel & wanted to say it was exactly what I was looking for!!! I have been working on minimalism in my life since 1990's. So, I am going threw All your video's starting today 8/23/20. 😃
